Me before watching: wtf is grandblue? Me after: Lowain's Yggdrasil is so easy to nullify it might be preferable to just do his regular skybound art human hermit attack on certain matchups.
I read this comment before and after I watched the video. The fact that I had had no prior Granblue experience before but I knew exactly what you were talking about the 2nd time is testament to the quality of these guides. Well done TBS :)
Granblue is one of japan's biggest mobile games. They are currently in the middle of expanding their game portfolio by collaboriating with Arc System Works for the fighting game Granblue Fantasy VS , and an arpg Granblue Fantasy Re:link with Platinum Games. Since most of the west isn't that keen on mobile games it hasn't spread there, sadly. Hopefully both the new games will make it more popular.
I am sticking with the technical characters like Narmaya, Zeta and a rush down character like Charlotte. It is great too to use Gran for all rounded character
Solely off the nature of their games. Abigail doesn't have to deal with quite literally everyone in the cast outmaneuvering him AND zoning him out with their normals. He doesn't even get a real reversal (the closest thing without his Armor up is going into Savage Rampage then Scythe Stomp which is basically impossible on reaction or wakeup)
Hi, I'm the guy who wrote the the Dustloop pros and cons for Vaseraga that appear to have informed parts of his segment. I'd like to add a bit of information about how the character is now played, since parts of that page were written very early in the games life. Even so, I actually only have one extra thing do talk about, his shoulder tackle. Under any circumstances except for a meaty you do not want to use the charge version of tackle. The easy input is vastly superior because you can do it at a moments notice, and it's not a move you need to play neutral game so the cool-down is an acceptable loss. Not only is tackle plus on meaty, if correctly spaced it is also plus. When you find the opportunity to use this move, you're basically in the opponents face for free to start the mind games. When Vaseraga commands respect, he steals your soul.
It makes sense to me. When were first heard about the game, Cygames name dropped Street Fighter 2 as an inspiration. It was the kind of gameplay that they were looking for with Team Red to build, that is exactly what they got with a few more options.
Incredibly grateful for this video. You guys have a knack for explaining fighting games in such a simplistic, yet intricate way. Much love and I’m looking forward to more videos in the future.
Subbed to learn T7 years ago (spoiler I never got around to it) mostly (purely) a 2D fighting game player and waiting on pc version of GBVS. I always respected your analysis of tekken. This is right up my alley. I can appreciate the SF character references
I love how quickly GBV became popular. A lot of people were concerned that it would end up becoming another niche anime fighter, but damn, it's pretty nice to see it get some great attention. TBS making a quality video on it speaks volumes, awesome video my man.
Various aspects caused the game to die though. They lowered the price of the base game way too late. The netcode - albeit I have absolutely flawless matches with my international friends - is it said to be terrible. Great game that could have been so important for the FGC. Too bad it died. Hopefully a potential netcode update might help out.
Gran is so damn good, and so damn simple. This is my first fighting game I’ve seriously gotten into and it’s so helpful that one of the simplest characters is such a good one, has helped me break into the fighting game genre 😊
A little late to the party, but it's a joke. Referring to an older meme where guys that are 6' tall are perceived as giants whereas 5'11" dudes are short.
Exactly what I'd want from a fighting game character overview: concise, pros and cons of the character, playstyle, important moves and gameplay showing what you're saying on the background. High quality video!
Don't forget that Ferry's 236x specials have projectile invulnerability, meaning that she only really struggles against characters like Zeta with almost instant fireballs. Either way, this was very well done. I've never watched one of your videos, but this video was super well done and definitely useful for new players. Well played! I'll be watching for future stuff.
Fantastic video, just 2 quick things I noticed: 1:32 Katalina's light wall can be dash cancelled after the slash as well, which you can use to jump back to poking range or close in for pressure. 8:18 Ladiva actually can chain into sweep in this game, you can link it after close 5L or 2L>close 5L>sweep. It's in one of her combo trials, and it is another component of her hard knockdown game. But yeah lowain definitely can't Again, fantastic overview of the cast. Will you be doing the DLC characters at a later point?
Dude thanks for the video. Watched this when it came out and its what got me to finally bought the game yesterday, and loving every second of it (and also my first 2D fighting game). Asuka main in Tekken, Katalina main in GBVS. Seems like i just have a thing for defensive oriented characters 😅

I've been waiting for a video like this! A nice, simple introduction to each character's playstyle. Thank you! Katalina looks like the character I'll play most. Vaseraga's armored moves look fun too. But if I were picking a character solely for husband reasons, it would probably be Lancey lol.
Idk why I'm watching this because I don't even play fighters, but these videos are really informative yet to the point. I'd love to see an Under Night video, personally.
This is such an awesome video, clear, informative, well edited to be interesting to watch and fun to experience. awesome job! I'm a new youtuber, starting with GBVS and this is one of my benchmarks for good fighting game content. Only 1 thing I would comment on is that since this guide will draw many players new to fighting games, it would be even better if you replaced some of the fg lingo into something an average gamer would understand (okizeme). Love it!
Great vid!!! Please make character comparisons to more than just Street Fighter characters though. Not everyone solely plays (or knows) that game. There are some characters here who are more a kin to UNIST and XRD characters as well. Thanks.
