We used to love the go veggie brand but then realized they still use milk product in it so use the "follow your heart" brand. It's delicious in case you want to try something else in a pinch :)

I think Marnie's fam avoid dairy for her son's colitis so it would depend if casein is an irritant for him or not. I'm vegan so no casein. But the Go Veggie Parmesan (at least in the US) is full vegan and exactly like dairy based Parmesan- so good.

Hi Marnie, that is so scary but we're all glad that you're better. That is a severe reaction so yeah a medic alert bracelet would be good. Also, I keep a card in my wallet that shows what meds I take and what I'm allergic to. My doctor suggested that in case of emergency. Any way....Great video, Michael is so helpful with the labeling and packing! I'm sensitive to chemical sunscreens also, so looking forward to your review on those Goop items. Take care, girl!

As someone with painful, practically nonexistent veins, I can definitely relate to your IV story. Every time I've been hospitalized, I have asked for a very experienced IV nurse, and they never agreed until they killed me with an IV and were unsuccessful in getting a return. They never listen to you in the ER. Glad you came through it okay, Marnie! 💗

We are experiencing some very new food allergies in my household and it can be quite expensive experimenting with brands that cater to specific allergies or food preferences. I appreciate your recommendation on the faux cheese. Your pasta (gluten free Ronzoni) was very well received here so I will be purchasing some selections from the Go Veggie brand to "give them a go" so thank you.

I believe it's the blue label Go Veggie that is lactose and milk free. If casein isn't an issue, all Cabot brand cheese is lactose free. My friend who is lactose intolerant loves that's brand. I once thought I needed a root canal because my tooth was in so much pain, it turned out I had a sinus infection and was told that if you have one the pain can me amplified in areas where you have had dental work.

Marnie..I bet it was sinus. That happens to me sometimes. My teeth will hurt and they can't find a thing wrong with my teeth. XOXO I have the same Ole Miss tee shirt.
Yep, this has happened to me a few times. Maybe a weather change prompted it? With me, it was always when it rained, or just before it rained. Sinus surgery has resolved this, but it was quite painful. Make a note of the weather and you may be able to determine a pattern.
Glad you are O.K. My daughter also has issues with codeine. She had every side effect listed the one and only time she took it. Enjoy your week and your time with Jake. He may already be back at school though with the vlog schedule being a week behind.
Love you. As for taking someone else's meds. You shouldn't , but I don't know too many people who haven't done it. As a retired paramedic, may I suggest that in the future you might want to call an ambulance with symptoms like yours. With allergic reactions, things can turn bad very fast. Sorry you had to go through that.
I agree-I talked to my dentist later and he said he would have told me to do the exact same thing-or prescribed the same pill, so unfortunately the same thing would have happened. Now that we know for sure I will have an adverse reaction to codeine based drugs, definitely will share that information with ALL of my doctors!

Marnie, a few years ago I also had pain in a tooth. It took three dentist to figure out what it was. The third being a surgeon. I had a crack in the roots of that tooth and also the root canal I had was infected. If your pain comes back and gets worse, maybe it could be the same thing… Just a thought, Hopefully it is not because my pain got severe.

They do a fab mineral spf for your face, I use it daily. They stock it at ulta, cvs, walmart etc. Its a great cheaper alrernative to Supagoop but still great qaulity protection. Have a great week. Glad you recovered well that sounded scary! I thought it was interesting I saw the same movie in a similar theatre recently-love those seats! It was cool-amazing how violent movies are these days-but overall liked it! Love your videos!
So glad you are ok. My husband had a tooth pulled last May and they also put in an implant. He was in a lot of pain and he took the Tylenol with Codeine #3 that the oral surgeon had prescribed. He asked me to wake him at midnight so he could take the next dose for the night. I did that and heard a loud bang in the kitchen. I ran to see what the noise was and my husband was on the floor passed out. I thought he had died at first and it was terrifying. My son was already calling 911. Scott was taken to the ER by ambulance. After a bunch of tests over a few months it has been determined that my husband fainted because the Codeine caused his blood pressure to drop suddenly. My husband is fine now. No one in my house can take anything with Codeine in it as we all have had bad reactions to it. I told him about your experience. I haven't finished watching the video yet, but wanted to let you know I am sorry you had to go through that too.

Mac band started 2 a days July 31 (8am-5:30pm) with 3 a days on Tuesdays & Thursdays (8am - 9pm). My daughter's in leadership (section leader & president) and they have to be there every morning by 7:20am. I'm tired just thinking about it!

I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience with your IV--I have compassion for you, especially since I have IV infusions twice a week for my Lyme treatment. Since it's not an emergency situation for me, I usually don't have brusing.
No, they just do a new IV each time. My nurse is really good and I'm getting used to it. I'm in there with other Lymies and cancer patients. We're getting to be like a family...lol

I'm 39 and I've never had a cavity either. I'm weirdly proud about this, even though it must also be genetic. Although my mother was extremely strict with dental hygiene. She would check how we brushed until a fairly late age...
Marnie, love you! But I feel that as an ED nurse and Director of an ED, I need to give you a little explanation about IV starts. Of the literally hundreds of patients who told me "you can't get an IV there", I think maybe only two of them were correct. The reason that ED nurses want an IV in your antecubital area and not your hand, is because we are looking for a vein that is big and will tolerate a large amount of IV fluid pushed through it in a short time. Your description of your vitals and condition would be worrisome to the ED RNs and they would have wanted a large bore IV in a big vein. So please forgive them for the bruising and understand they were only following the appropriate protocol to keep you safe as a patient and produce the best outcome for you. ❤️❤️❤️

Marnie, I'm so grateful that you have recovered. I carry in my wallet a paper that lists all the medications that I take, dosages, how many times a day..., On my IPhone there's a "Health icon" and enclosed is a "Medical Id" that I have listed all of my health issues, medications, blood type etc. I do this in case of an emergency and I'm unable to speak for myself. Please think about doing this as well. This information is vital to the medical staff treating you in an emergency and your family may not be there to speak for you.
My (ex) husband and I are the only other adults I know who've never had cavities. Our three boys each have one, in the same tooth, which our dentist said has a particularly deep groove. Who knows why, but surely it must be genetic?
Jennifer Beikes my 56 yr old hubby has never had a cavity. Which is amazing growing up on welfare and he doesn't remember going to dentist under the age of 17. Our Dentist says it has to do with his saliva.

You had an anaphylactic reaction to the med. Very dangerous. You can go into shock. Did the hospital suggest you speak to your doctor about always carrying an Epi-Pen? I have allergies and discover them the hard way. Bad allergies. Like the kind you experienced. Unfortunately, you may be allergic to other things and you won't know it until you have this reaction. I am allergic to Penicillin, Aspiring, the dye they use for MRI's (but not the dye for CT scans). So you need to discuss Epi-Pen with your doctor. It can save your life. Good luck.
Also, if you ask your doctor to write the prescription for an auto-injectible epinephrine pen (instead of EpiPen) then the pharmacy can fill it with a generic that won't cost you $600!

Bruises, people stare, When my Mom fell and broke her pelvis in 6 places and had to have Rotator cuff surgery, People would look at her Brace and stare and She always joke "If you think that's bad You Ought to see my Husband" (bu da bum ching)... Make the people not stare and laugh LOLLL... Real glad your ER visit turned out that way, Need to see your regular doc to make sure your not allergic to Codeine (opioid) based drugs.. My Mom is allergic but her reaction is extreme dizziness violent vomiting and resulting in dehydration. Be careful I have to have my Marnie Goldberg update, love and hugs

I think it's a great video idea, but since I'm in my mid-40's, I'm really not in a position to give that kind of advice. I need to live it first!

Changing the subject completly have you ever tried the Australian Gold suncream its great. They do a fab mineral spf for your face, I use it daily. They stock it at ulta, cvs, walmart etc. Its a great cheaper alrernative to Supagoop but still great qaulity protection. Have a great week.

I do the whole recipe on the stove, and I think I stay true to the recipe-oh-I add bacon-it's one of the things they recommend to add.
I have a Codine allergy as well. I get violently sick to my stomach...ugh!

So glad you are ok. My husband had a tooth pulled last May and they also put in an implant. He was in a lot of pain and he took the Tylenol with Codeine #3 that the oral surgeon had prescribed. He asked me to wake him at midnight so he could take the next dose for the night. I did that and heard a loud bang in the kitchen. I ran to see what the noise was and my husband was on the floor passed out. I thought he had died at first and it was terrifying. My son was already calling 911. Scott was taken to the ER by ambulance. After a bunch of tests over a few months it has been determined that my husband fainted because the Codeine caused his blood pressure to drop suddenly. My husband is fine now. No one in my house can take anything with Codeine in it as we all have had bad reactions to it. I told him about your experience. I haven't finished watching the video yet, but wanted to let you know I am sorry you had to go through that too.

Mac band started 2 a days July 31 (8am-5:30pm) with 3 a days on Tuesdays & Thursdays (8am - 9pm). My daughter's in leadership (section leader & president) and they have to be there every morning by 7:20am. I'm tired just thinking about it!

Those moss balls are grown on a log in big patches and then sewn together to make a circle, eventually the moss will just grow together in a ball shape :) Named after the guy who created them. They're really neat, and they help soak up any toxins in the water! 😄

I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience with your IV--I have compassion for you, especially since I have IV infusions twice a week for my Lyme treatment. Since it's not an emergency situation for me, I usually don't have brusing.

No, they just do a new IV each time. My nurse is really good and I'm getting used to it. I'm in there with other Lymies and cancer patients. We're getting to be like a family...lol

Wow, so thankful you made it through that reaction okay! Keep that in mind for your boys too just in case it's genetic, I know penecilen reactions can be hereditary.

I'm 39 and I've never had a cavity either. I'm weirdly proud about this, even though it must also be genetic. Although my mother was extremely strict with dental hygiene. She would check how we brushed until a fairly late age...
Marnie, love you! But I feel that as an ED nurse and Director of an ED, I need to give you a little explanation about IV starts. Of the literally hundreds of patients who told me "you can't get an IV there", I think maybe only two of them were correct. The reason that ED nurses want an IV in your antecubital area and not your hand, is because we are looking for a vein that is big and will tolerate a large amount of IV fluid pushed through it in a short time. Your description of your vitals and condition would be worrisome to the ED RNs and they would have wanted a large bore IV in a big vein. So please forgive them for the bruising and understand they were only following the appropriate protocol to keep you safe as a patient and produce the best outcome for you. ❤️❤️❤️

I carry in my wallet a paper that lists all the medications that I take, dosages, how many times a day...,
On my IPhone there's a "Health icon" and enclosed is a "Medical Id" that I have listed all of my health issues, medications, blood type etc.
I do this in case of an emergency and I'm unable to speak for myself.
Please think about doing this as well.
This information is vital to the medical staff treating you in an emergency and your family may not be there to speak for you.

My (ex) husband and I are the only other adults I know who've never had cavities. Our three boys each have one, in the same tooth, which our dentist said has a particularly deep groove. Who knows why, but surely it must be genetic?
Jennifer Beikes my 56 yr old hubby has never had a cavity. Which is amazing growing up on welfare and he doesn't remember going to dentist under the age of 17. Our Dentist says it has to do with his saliva.

You had an anaphylactic reaction to the med. Very dangerous. You can go into shock. Did the hospital suggest you speak to your doctor about always carrying an Epi-Pen? I have allergies and discover them the hard way. Bad allergies. Like the kind you experienced. Unfortunately, you may be allergic to other things and you won't know it until you have this reaction. I am allergic to Penicillin, Aspiring, the dye they use for MRI's (but not the dye for CT scans). So you need to discuss Epi-Pen with your doctor. It can save your life. Good luck.

Also, if you ask your doctor to write the prescription for an auto-injectible epinephrine pen (instead of EpiPen) then the pharmacy can fill it with a generic that won't cost you $600!

Bruises, people stare, When my Mom fell and broke her pelvis in 6 places and had to have Rotator cuff surgery, People would look at her Brace and stare and She always joke "If you think that's bad You Ought to see my Husband" (bu da bum ching)... Make the people not stare and laugh LOLLL... Real glad your ER visit turned out that way, Need to see your regular doc to make sure your not allergic to Codeine (opioid) based drugs.. My Mom is allergic but her reaction is extreme dizziness violent vomiting and resulting in dehydration. Be careful I have to have my Marnie Goldberg update, love and hugs
