My mom always made this when I was a kid growing up during the holidays, so this is a staple for me this time of year.

Us too, my only complaint is it ruins almost every meal.

I have made the basic Chex Mix recipe a bazillion times over the years (with a few tweeks here and there) but not lately. I plan on making a few batches this year as gifts and I like the addition of smoked paprika. I just might try that out! Change is good!

It’s a staple for the holidays in my family… my mama still makes it better than I do though. Try adding some chili powder too… a little heat takes it up a notch.

It adds just that extra little something... to go even further though, try adding some grated parmesan and mixing that in while it's still hot 😀

Hey Mark! I love your Chex Mix... I also make this at the Holidays for my Fishing Pals who don't like sweets. It's so versatile and makes a great gift! I love your Gluten-free options!😊

Thank you. I had always followed my mom’s technique which is to double all the seasonings, butter included. The last few years I began experimenting and do like the spice in it.
      I wish I didn’t like sweets… 😄 I think I gain 5-10 lbs every holiday season.

Instead of the oven use microwave. 6-7 minutes. Stir it every 2 minutes. Much much easier and faster. The whole batch too. How I do it. I make over 30 batches every Christmas. Now I use Cajun seasoning instead of Lawry seasoning salt . And add some to hot sauce too. Everyone loves it!

I have heard of it being done in the microwave but have never tried. I will give that a shot next time... New Years is coming up quick and chex mix is always in the house on New Years. 😀.
Another item I have tried and really like is to add some grated parmesan shortly before it comes out of the oven, whether traditional or of the microwave variety. Give it just enough time to melt into it.
