And the model won. It was great to see him back in the win column. Also lovely to have GSP as a commentator.
Ralph Lauren won.
Bro.. I love GSP but he was a terrible commentator
Joe Schilling hasn’t landed a significant strike since that premeditated interaction with the drunk dude at the bar
Undercover UG'er
He broke Luke’s nose with a cross
@@marshallmaia8130 these tards didnt watch the fight
Hahahhahaha
Lol straight up. Even if the drunk was being aggressive, it was like an adult beating up a child. Shilling wanted an excuse to assault a drunk guy lol
1:26 Wow, ref actually called him out on the double leg takedown! I’m honestly glad to see they have finally read their own rules.
GOOD 👍
Schilling’s been active the past few years…plenty of bar fights down in Florida. Gotta stay sharp
Yeah Schilling has been in bar fights big deal. So have literally thousands of other fighters. Did you expect them to be tennis players on the side?
He likes to suckerpunch smaller guys for some reason.
@@Elohim100 don’t ruin a joke with facts, man
@@Elohim100 Fight? He beat the living daylight out of some innocent drunken idiot . Schilling is a POS and it was pleasure seeing him get KFTO.
@@Elohim100hey you gotta be fun at parties
Funny joe said mma fighters have shit striking. Said mma is B grade at everything. Keeps getting ko'd by mma fighters.
Talk shit, get shit on, circle of life
Reminds me of Joe got ko'd in mma by Hisaki Kato who was a mma fighter and then fought him in kickboxing and still got ko'd, lol.
MMA has a mixed bag. Some fighters have excellent grappling and subpar striking, some fighters have excellent striking and average wrestling.
A lot of mma guys do have shitty striking 😂 that’s why it’s freaking mma
Completely a different sport and then you have topuria adesanya pereira etc
@@bunnyban5365rockhold is no perrerra
the pit wall is awesome. good luck getting up with your hand on that thing
Steven wonder boy Thomson would be a monster in this promotion he would be a champion by his second fight guarantee
He would put a masterclass on anyone in the promotion
I hope wonderboy comes to karate combat after he retires from the UFC. The competition level is low enough to where he can compete even at an old age. He should do just own or two fights here
Is steven wonder boy a play on Stevie Wonder or is it a coincidence
Rockhold putting his hands on his head like that was giving me memories of his fight with Costa. Joe was putting on similar pressure. If luke didn't land that right I think things would've gotten weird again in the latter rounds.
he went the distance with Costa tho despite being gassed due to his nose halfway thru the first round
Plus the fight with Costa was at altitude
@@JohnCenaIsMyDad also was at altitude
@@JohnCenaIsMyDadbroke his nose in this fight too
Love the vids Gabriel!
Good commentary on the fight. You broke it down well.
I’m so glad Luke used his head kicks and body kicks
Its nice to see Luke finally not get KO’ed for once.
He's only been ko'd 3 times in MMA so it's not like it's a frequent thing
Dude is an all time great put some respek on his name 😤, not everyone is gifted with granite chin
He got koed only by bisping and Romero who could KO heavyweights not everyone is Bobby knuckles.
@@mrdisaster5880He was also KOd by Vitor and Jan.
If you look at who he’s fought he actually has an iron chin. Fought costa to a close decision, got knocked out by Jan and Yoel who are monsters, and bisping, both yan and bisping went on to become champ, and Yoel is just a monster.
Great Gabe. Is it again possible buy your course of defense?
Nice to see Rockhold win 👊🫡🫡
I started watching at round 2, they both looked pretty tired. That ko at the end was dope 👍
Rockhold broke his nose again which would explain his tiredness
I really like this kind of arena. No ropes or chains to obstruct the view, not to mention how it changes the ground game. Do they even have a ground game in this event?
Hey Gabriel, I recently just fought my second fight, I lost hecause he rocked me well with the southpaw cross. How do you deal with a good southpaw cross and right kick spam. He was about a head taller too. I know all the basic strategies like staying to the outside but it would be cool if u could make a video on dealing with southpaws.
can someone explain the no low kicks to the thigh rule for me? why only to the knee/calf? doesn't make any sense to me. is it just to distinguish it from other rules sets like K1?
Random question Gabriel, have any of your fights with Karate Kombat that have ever gone on with the original schedule? Cause for as long as you have been with this promotion I have always heard you say event moved, opponent pulls out or change of opponents. Like it seems nothing ever goes as planned, maybe your last fight where lost but point m making is things seem to be a bit chaotic with Karate Kombat.
Finally my boy Luke back in the win column.
I think Wonderboy's next match in MMA should be against MVP.
Once he retires from MMA, then he possibly could come to Karate Combat and complete against Rockhold, Machida, Daniels, possibly even Perry in a mixed rules Karate/Bare knuckle match akin to DJ vs Rodtang.
Looking forward to seeing you get back in there Gabriel. Keep it up champ! 🤘♥️
Good match between Rockhold and Schilling!
Muay Thai is my favorite style of Karate
Karate is only karate i dont understand the comment this franchise letting anyone to fight but karate rules
😊😊😊😊😊😅
Rockhold _was_ an amazing fighter and I'm glad to see him back in the win column but this feels like a veteran vs veteran fight (based on how quickly they gassed). I can't imagine him being a serious title contender, unless the division is super shallow.
I'm not really that invested in UFC and watched one video about Luke (author was making fun of him, lol). But he took a nose-breaking punch like a champ! And that finishing blow, short excitement of winning a fight and then immediately giving a hand to his opponent was top-class.
10:58 beautiful right hook!
Somewhere in the world a drunk man in a bar is cheering for Luke Rockhold.
Lmao
They need to have the corners come down vs the fighters going up.
I thought they purposely did that as a way to see if the fighters are able to continue the next round or not.
Yeah that just makes too much sense.
Nah, the fighters are the (better) athletes. Besides, if ice spills in the pit; Joe Rogan'll have a fit
This should be kudo
I love the Pit design...I don't like all these extra rules would prefer more loose rule set ....
smoking a pack a day and inactivity caught up with Joe here it seems.
And Luke is just better 🤷🏽♂️
@@bertovicuna9995Joe was never one of the greatest or even a great kickboxer in general at all
Alex and izzy are top kickboxers in mma i never knew about joe only found out about him arfter the bar fight but age is a factor in this fight but even in ufc rockhold would beat him
@@uncletheoneshotkid3001 Joe is a great kick boxer. Have you actually seen his fights or know anything about his career? Hes obviously not what he was a few years ago but he was one of the most dangerous dudes in kickboxing at MW at one point. I wish people would do more research before making uneducated takes. I'm not even a Joe Schilling fan but I'd be lying if I could say he wasn't one of the best at one point.
@@omegashenron8 his best wins tbh were Marcus and Artem, both of whom are great but he was 1-2 against Marcus, who was better under Muay Thai rules and failed to adapt to kickboxing rules, and the Levin fight should’ve been a draw. There was a bullsht KD counted that was a slip
It feels like Joe is waiting for certain shots but it’s taking more time then I’m used to seeing him take
Joe Schilling needed this humbling for his antics in that bar.
Y2KFairtex was supposed to fight on this card....what happened
And will you review the 3 Karate VS Muay Thai fights on this card?
Gabriel, when are you fighting again?
Were you really surprised that Joe Schilling went down with one punch? It's happened several times in his career.
Good morning from the 918 Coach 🇺🇸
Got his nose broken and comes back to win. Pretty solid stuff
Best content
I admit that I don't quite understand the rules of this promotion. Can someone explain them? (Kickboxing minus kicks to the thigh, plus ground and pound?)
let me know if you get the rules
You have 5 seconds of ground and pound. Yeah kicks to the calf are allowed but no leg kicks above the knee. Not sure why tho. Idk if these rules have changed but these were what I originally heard.
Maybe no kick to calfs and thighs, so legs aren't compromised? So they have more kicking action and more kick ko to head and body idk but.
To be fair the promotion doesn’t even know its own rules. Striking is supposed to be worth more than a takedown but they some times aren’t
The rules and the scoring seem to vary from fight to fight depending on the ref and the judges. The rules are supposed to be leg kicks are allowed below the knee only. Knees are allowed but not from the clinch. Takedowns, in the form of sweeps and judo throws are allowed but not wrestling takedowns. You see double leg takedowns all of the time but they aren’t supposed to be legal.
The fact schilling hasn’t fought in 5 years and did so well. Rockhold is just so slick, his kicks are so enjoyable to watch
He got one
I come from a Karate style that was heavy on thigh kicks. Uechi Ryu is one of the oldest styles from Okinawa. I really don't get why they don't allow it.
they both kick like my dad
Rockhold vs Aghayev would be interesting. I don't really see Rockhold winning it though.
Kickboxing vs. MMA in Kombat Karate Ruleset
you forgot to mention luke rockhold was strikeforce champ as well
It really does tell you how good Rockhold is. He’s able to at least compete with the best in the world in individual disciplines. But make no mistake, he would smash them in mma.
Rockhold seemed just better prepared. Schilling to me looked like a guy who went in there to be KOd for a payday.
Good on luke. Dude needed a W in his world finally.
Is Joe Schilling a blackbelt in any styles of karate
"hands up Joe...Joe, hands up ... Hands up Joe..." I bet he was hearing that his whole life, but won't keep his damn hands up for some reason.
What about Karate Combat vs BKFC.. Rules would easily translate IMO
The takedown threat messed up Schilling's game.
Schilling was a lineal champ at Glory? I don't remember that.
Would love to see Rodtang Jitmuangnon compete in this
Really?😂 These are inferior rules to Muay Thai.
@@poatan187 That's true though😅 Rodtang Jitmuangnon will maul everyone in this. Imagine a "Muay Thai" guy becomes "Karate" Combat champ. How much prestige will Karate lose?!?!
Ring rust looked evident to me. But still not a boring fight. I mean regardless of the rest of the fight, you can’t win any better than a knockout.
I wanna see wonder boy fight inside the pit
The UFC should Implement something like this or get rid of the cage by putting plexiglass instead because fence grabbing has become such a huge problem. Or they should make fence grabbing legal since they do it anyway and hardly ever penalized for it
Even if I dont fight long time I know my reach. Schillings distance feeling was awful on some punches he threw some hooks that were so much to short they didnt even hit the guard
Finally
Joe saying he’s americas best ever kick-boxer cmon
He was a few years ago. His accolades prove it.
black Bruce lee?

I miss prime schilling days when Rogan was promoting him. He was exciting.
Wow dont think ive seen Rockhold win since Wiedman
If you live anywhere near Joe stay away from a bar
What an atomsphere...
Schilling only knocks out drunk ppl at bars
Super fight? Huh😮😮🎉❤luke the guy that quit over a chipped tooth 😊😊
Karate style: Muay Thai???!!!
Wheres the sound? Weird.
Back to beating up guy in the bar I guess
Its like Schilling doesn't do that great if the guy is a fighter, ready to fight and not drunk.
i wanna see jake fight mike perry or luke rockhold
mostly mike perry
Jake will win
He believed it and achieved it
I think the ring was an issue, neither fighter being familiar with it and seems just to "open" to me...
Good job on Luke's part but Joe seems to just be tired
Joe might have taken a fall on that one
joe can only beat drunk guys at a bar
$KARATE #TOTHEMOON 🚀
Luke Rockhold 🆚 Sam Alvey in Karate Combat would be an awesome fight.
Sam’s not on Luke’s level unfortunately
Rigga lettuce
Rockhold still don’t know how to strike
should change the name to Karatekboxing Combat or just K-1
The rules are such a mess in this organisation ...
Joe Schilling was in retirement...and by his cardio he probably took this fight on two weeks notice.
Luke Rock!!!
"Neither guys have good takedowns"? You're right on Joe, but dead wrong on Luke. Luke could have ended this fight about 4-5 times or more with G&P or submission at any time he wanted. His duck and double leg and body locks were available to him anytime. He had to limit himself just like all mma fighters who do other variations of combat sports. Joe had some good mma fights, but...
They billed this as karate... Smh
Finally gets a win.
Very odd rules kc has
I get it that Luke used to talk a lot of bullshits and acted so arrogant, but I don't get all the hate toward him, like genuinely hatred.
Joe schilling still smoke cigs before matches? 😂
i dont say this as a smug comment, but was joe ever good?
aggressive with good hands and power. his chin used to be solid
damn, Schilling has 0 stamina
Maybe the camera guy could
Move back a little further so we can really not see shit
That above the kee rule is the most un-martial arts-worthy rule I've ever seen. These rules are for amateurs, gotta wonder if these guys hesitate out of confusion.
What the hell is that???
Joe Schilling has always had a terrible chin. Rockholds chin was weak, but he didn't get completely switched that much. Schilling got knocked dead by Kato twice (once kickboxing, once mma). Luke is physically impressive. Unfortunately he never developed his hands. If could have learned to snap his jab, and how to throw a straight right behind it. He always lunged forward when punching. He would often finish leaning far forward, and he was terrible about keeping his hands up. It why Bisping KO'd him.
Joe needed more practice beating up drunk bar guys 😅🤡
Joe was so sloppy when he got KO'd. Hands down, slow and lazy jab, yeah no wonder you got flat lined.
Apparently ther jab is not needed in combat sports any more...wtfff
