I still say that the Maniac Cop franchise deserves more eyeballs on it. While 3 is a bit of a letdown to some, I absolutely adore this triptych of films where I say that they cover 3 subgenres of horror. 3 explores the supernatural, 2 is your average slasher with twists, including a team-up with another serial killer and 1 is THE American Giallo.
One of the great things about the VHS or DVD box for Sleepaway Camp 2 is the pleasure in the stunt casting "Angela, played by Pamela Sprinsteen (yes, that really is Bruce Springsteen's sister!)" and "starring Renee' Estevez (yes that really is Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez' sister!)""

I absolutely loved Valentine. I never found anyone else who liked it or even knew about it. I doubt I would have seen it if I didn't work in the theater and get to see all the movies for free. I hope you make a second list and I hope that you add Dr Giggles to it. It was passed over because it came at the end of the Thriller craze in 80s/early 90s. It has the best place for a killer to hide to get away from the authorities.
Although I have almost zero recollection of the movie itself, I know I've seen Valentine and I DO remember really enjoying it when I saw it. It's been close to 20 years though, so I'm definitely due for a rewatch.
You forgot Madman. An underrated gem of a movie with great music, atmosphere, and a villain with a backstory. But it did come out the same time as Friday the 13th and the Fog, so I can see how it flew your radar.
Tiny little note that probably only bugs me, but that's a sickle, not a scythe. A scythe has a long handle and looks like what the grim reaper carries. A sickle is curved in a half moon shape and has a short handle. The pointy thing on the Soviet Union's flag is a sickle.

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II was really good and agree it should be up there Carrie and maybe The Nightmare on Elm Street. Sleepaway Camp was freaky as hell and creeped me out. The sequel was ok, I did enjoy it, but the other 2 movies no thanks.
I just can't believe that The Prowler, Stage Fright, Prom night 2, and Valentine are so ignored. Although maybe not totally ignored I also think Blood Rage (1983) and Popcorn (1991) could have made the list
The Prowler actually has a healthy following, from what I've seen. I have grown to really love it over the years. I like Valentine, too. But when it comes to Stage Fright, I found myself wishing that they had kept the movie darker...That owl head, looming up out of a really dark setting, would have been epic. But for my money, most masks lose something when the movie is too awash in light.
Point taken on Stage Fright and lighting. Come to think of it I believe Stage Fright isn't completely ignored either as I remember hearing some one actually did a some what successful play based on that movie a decade or more later.@@tgriffin3059

Valentine isn't a underrated movie, is just a bad movie, is boring, uninteresting and not frightening at all, the only good thing is that the killer survives and in a sequel with him as a victim of a new killer, it could offer something interesting.
He is talking about the Italian movie from 1987 that is otherwise known as Aquarius. Meat Loaf was in a 2014 Canadian movie that was also called Stage Fright.

Sn: I LOVED Denise Richards as Paige in Valentine. Especially her scene with Detective Vaughn. Bare bones yes, but entertaining.

The only connection Prom Night 2 have to the first was that they both takes place in the same high school (Hamilton High).
