Looks neat, feels like this should have been the first expansion. The new mechanics seem to be similar to the stuff in the Dreadnought Pack and Biodome mini expansions.
Just played with this a few days ago. Makes the game so much more interesting due to the wide range of emerging strategies it brings. Will always use it.
I play tested this when John Clair made it downloadable on BGG. My opinion is the same as Tom’s. This should have been the first expansion. I will never remove it. I have separated out some of the other expansions with, specifically anything allowing shy Pluto dice and some of the more complex abilities as it’s so much to teach but the cards I used from play testing which I can see is mostly shown actually makes the base game more cohesive. It somehow makes charge cards easier to understand and more valuable. The colonies are similar to what has been in some of the others like bio dome. I had given feedback that the alternative cost on colonies should have been a separate thing from the colonies, in fact I felt it should have been dealt each to a player before the game starts as an end game score, but I digress. This is a great expansion from what I play tested last year and I can’t wait to pick it up
How do you combine this with Shy Pluto? I love the tiny dice you buy, and this would make it really difficult now to get those airplane tokens once all these are added in. Anyone know a workaround?
Not to mention with Terra Proxima there is more than enough cards to come out. I’ve slowly soured on the Shy Pluto dice. They’re fun but can be a lot of overhead. I’ve found them to be most useful lower player counts or if not playing the accelerated start
It's already on the AEG website, which is great for US buyers (maybe Canada too, idk). But they don't currently plan on releasing wide. My Mexican ass is out of luck.
@@gabtrat9091 gosh I hope not. They’d probably end up including some mini expansion like century did with that big box. I hate the fomo of wanting to buy games I already own.
Solid expansion. We just used it a couple weeks ago as we play through the 2nd saga expansion. I have to agree on those as well, they're fine, but what I really wanted were more cards, so this expansion is great.
Tom, any thoughts on adding this with (non module) cards from previous expansions? Maybe that waters down the cool from this expansion? Or maybe throw it all in there? Either way super excited to see one of my favorite games get more goodness
This looks like everything I wanted to fill out the rest of this game. I liked Shy Pluto but not enough to buy the 2nd campaign. This is just more of what my group loves, and I'm all for that! 🥰
I can’t speak to sleeved cards, but unsleeved I have plenty of space for more cards and will be able to fit this easily. I have all the other expansions.
Disappointed there's no campaign. The allure of the mystery boxes and seeing new mechanics being slowly introduced kept things exciting. This one has cool new cards, but feels very empty in comparison.
@@thedicetower I wish it was released wide, though. I'm, also a more stuff guy but there's no way to purchase outside the US (or at least not from my country). Someone on BGG asked and there are apparently no plans to release this one wide just yet.
This is the expansion I wanted. Just new cards and no campaign to deal with.

Does anyone know when this will be in stores?
It won't. They said it won't be released to retailers. At least for now.
Well that sucks!
I didn't kickstart because AEG stuff always comes to stores

Exactly what I want out of a Space Base expansion! (Same reason I loved the dreadnaut pack!)

Terra Proxima added in an alternate way to gain patrol tokens, using an event die.

What other expansions in Space Base do you still play with?
Geez, where was I? I missed the kickstarter, is it or will it be on sale in a store anytime soon?
I'd like to see the answer to this too. 👍🏻🤞🏻

Really enjoyed the review. I definitely want to get this expansion. Thanks for the great content and informative reviews!
Now it's time for a big box :)
Command station is a big box.
@@mdmccu2 That's true! Maybe someday they will sell another version with all the content

Who's writing these video titles? Freaking genius.
Guilty.
@@michaeldilisio557 But does it reach in and slowly tear you apart. Or is this why you went SOlo because of the Red Rain?
It's a built in ability.
Anyone know when it's released at retail?
Space Base still gets played consistently in our house. I’ll pick this one up
Pleased to hear ots a good expansion, looking forward to receiving our copy.

TAKE MY MONEY$$$ When will this be available for purchase??
Looks very much like Mission Deep Sea vs Quest for Planet 9, adding more variety and fun. Definitely a must have.

We been playing and loving this expansion since receiving it 2 weeks ago.
150 coins?! Holy smokes! lol I'd love to see that pulled off in a game. :-)
It's not even available for preorder in stores yet
10 out of 10! Wow!!!
Will the command station hold all three expansions?

I have mine sleeved, and yes. Easily.

I agree, but I think we are in the minority.
You are indeed. Besides, the campaign boxes exist! Let those of us who just want MOAR stuff to be happy!
