If you haven't yet, you might wanna screw that original pickguard down to a piece of wood to keep it straight and preserve its size since old celluloid guards have a tendency to shrink and warp when left to their own devices. Nice work on that ol' thing!
Nice, glad you could save the Guitar. I have just got my Bell & Howe up and running again. I can't believe they weren't made for Guitars. Excellent content, thank you.
you can sand or bevel the edges of your wooden pickguard and then spray them semi black paint on the edge . then order a semi gloss black vinyl 3m sheet of black car wrap paper then with a sharp exacto cut off excess wrap. i did it for my strat after making a masinite guard like yours.
I love these Olympics, I have two of them, super resonant mahogany slabs, love them. I had to swap pickups as well, with a p-90 they sound like a 60's SG Jr.
Filmosound sounds pretty good! I would hope that since its for a movie house that it might be reliable? My compliments to the musician. I can only guess that breadpand for shielding microphonic tubes? Of course ive been known to be misstaken. Have fun! Enjoy!
Well now I see where Yamaha got the idea for their Revstar shape. I always thought it was a mod of the Yamaha SG line, but this guitar is pretty much spot on of how the Revstars look.
I'd put a vintage surface mount de armond pickup in the neck position backed with double-sided sticky tape to hold it in place so as no to modify the body in any way.
@@DashnerGuitars I think it would be cool to strip it and maybe put an oil finish on the bare wood. The headstock looked pretty nice with the paint removed.
08:30 - me absolutely convinced you're about to play 'Down By The River' 😆
Great job on the upgrade.

Sounds great. Lollar makes a p90 and pick guard. I mounted on my 62 Melody Maker and it sounds ❤

I love your projects. The guitar stuff is my favorite. Would love to see you refinish that guitar!
I think I enjoyed the tune from the bread pan the most.
Very nice, I bet that guitar could tell some stories!
Thanks. I wish I new more of the guitar's story but I didn't get much info from the previous owner.

P90 sounds great. Can't wait to see what the Epiphone looks like when you've finished restoring it.

Ah the Lollar sounds nice...I got one just in case for my old Jr.... might have to put the new one in and compare I've got a Faber hybridge on mine
I love the sound of that guitar. So clean sounding. I wish it was mine. LOL.
Looks and sounds great! I would leave it as is with the wooden pickguard you made. 😊
I hope you got the rest of that paint off!
Will you do an update on the bass? Would love to see it. ❤
Will do as soon as I have something new to show.
Awesome find!

Wow! I just bought a lollar P90 for My Melody Maker
Now there’s a cool Epi
I know you mentioned it in the video, but what's that last amp you use in the video? I love it!
It’s an old Filmosound. It was originally part of a film projector.
cool Amp , what happened to the old Vox bass you were restoring
Still have it but haven’t done much to it. I need parts and turns out parts for an old Vox bass are hard to find.
Good job, whats the bread pan for?
It's shielding the tube underneath it. The amp will buzz without it.
@@DashnerGuitars Haha, cool
The true Joan Jett guitar
Sounds good! Have you decided on the finish or you going to leave it as is?
I was originally planning on a refinish but it's starting to grow on me as is. We'll see...
@@DashnerGuitars There is the mojo factor in the original finish....

You gotta paint the headstock black and put a logo on it
