I'm glad the jagr goal vs Philly was on here. For me that was his greatest goal ever. Amazing how he fell and wacked it in. He was so amazing for anyone who didn't see him in his prime. Mario was amazing to watch as well. He was so gifted.
Oh easily. I mean, these are two of the best players to ever play the game, together on the same line. They were extremely skilled, but they were also both very big guys, making them a complete nightmare for opposing teams to deal with. Both of these guys also accomplished a lot in international play for their respective national teams.
On March 24, 1976 jean pronovost scored his 50th goal and Pierre Larouche got his 100th point in the same game for the pens. Pierre eventually got to 53 goals.
@@fredmar6436- I agree. Lemieux is the 2nd best playmaker of all time. It’s not his fault that Gretzky was pretty much an alien when it came to passing. Lemieux had 100 assists only once. Gretzky had *eleven* 100+ assist seasons. Lemieux’s best assist season (114 assists) is tied with Gretzky’s 8th best. The top 7 all belong to Gretzky. The crazy thing is Gretzky once had 135 assists (leading the NHL in points with his assists alone) and still somehow led the NHL in goals that season haha. Then he did it exactly that again a couple seasons later to prove it wasn’t a fluke. No one else has ever done it, and he did it twice. He also scored 163 assists in between those two seasons, which was more assists (at the time) than anyone else had ever scored *points*. And still somehow scored 52 goals anyway. Ridiculous.
@@michaelgriffiths8068 That being said, I think Mario would actually put up more points and assists in today's NHL. Just my humble opinion. Mostly because of his size.
In other words, Pittsburgh is a team made of “luck” and “heavy tanking”...which is a FACT. And the fans are clearly a bandwagon. When you are in a serious talk for relocation after only 3 years absence of Jagr, than you know just how loyal the fans are in Pittsburgh lol.
We made playoffs every year in the 90s during our financial woahs moron only missing 4 playoff years making it back to the cup in 2008 then again in 2009 And unlike you we had a Superbowl winning team to watch then so our fans had choices
Your dates are wrong we had money issues while jagr was here And New Jersey and the islanders had financial woahs are their fans bandwagon didn't think so
5 cups in 26 years pal real luck we dominated Minnesota Chicago And San Jose and beat Detroit and Nashville so yeah Youre a dumb dago gotta watch our highlights since your franchise has probably none lol
Closest thing to this is Mcdavid and Leon Draisaitl. Sadly the best players don’t carry their teams to Cups anymore. Whole teams with skill do. Back then the competition was Shallow.

If they came back together today, they would out shine Crosby and Malkin easly
@@syncmonism people forget how big jagr was these 2 were monsters out there
@@michael.tmclean2095 in their late 40s/50's? Lol ok
Nah Mcdavid Draisaitl> jagr lemieux

So fun to watch all those guys
Met jagr and mario
Mario and Mario Jr.
These guys gave me nightmares as a bruins fan.
If I'm not mistaken Lemieux and Kevin Stevens also scored 50 in the same game in 1993 against Edmonton.
look at those old Whalers
You know the writing on the video blocks portions of the play Sportsnet.
Jagr was cute boy
No dis to Mario, but I've always loved Jagr more
"Soak it in Steel City".... don't worry, we are. #3peat

so whos going to be the next superstar or dynamic duo when Malkin and Crosby are done and gone of NHL????
Wtf is a redded mule and something about s cigar. I still remember that dude's voice oh sometimes he would say Elvis has just left the building.
Both of them are better players than Wayne.
How so?
Gretzky has almost the same number of points as the two of them combined if you include his playoff points…
@@michaelgriffiths8068 Boy, Lemieux is such an under rated passer. I've seen him make so many great assists.

"Second pair of teammates to hit the 50-goal mark in the same game." Who was first, then? Gretzky-Kurri? Guys from the Islanders? Who?

Even though you could put todays oilers in 1992 and they’d be the top team. That’s not how it is today. Everyone has talent.
