Growing fresh channel is such an hard work :D But it's very fun hobby to do :) Don't force yourself to make your channel huge and commercial just try to enjoy the ride and content you love to create. Audience will build slowly and steady if you do content that you enjoy and put some effort on thumbnails and content.

Would it benefit more to pick the state I’m in and ones close to me in the US for location? Or does that raise the CPV?
It will raise you CPV because it's in the US but might be cheaper if your locations don't get hit with ads a lot. Remember: the more detailed and specific the more expensive
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. Question: Doesn't it seem like a leap to expect your potential fans to want to download your video or song? Why would they want to download it when they can just watch it online, or listen on a streaming service?
Depends what genre is music you are in. For techno, house, and EDM, lots of fans and DJs download music to play.
Another strategy could be to release a preview before the song comes out and then give free download to listen.

I have linked my Google Ads campaign to my TH-cam music channel to promote my music videos. I would like to clarify some information regarding participation in the TH-cam Partner Program.
As far as I know, the watch time from ads viewed for longer than 30 seconds before my videos is added to the 4000 hours requirement for the TH-cam Partner Program. However, views and watch time from ads shorter than 30 seconds do not count towards the requirement.
I read this information on a forum, but someone disputed it, saying that watch time from ads is not counted at all.
I would like to know which information is correct.

When running a TH-cam music video ad, is there a way to start the ad at a specific point? As I don't want the ad to start from the very beginning, as the video has an ident at the beginning, and I'd prefer the ad to start at a certain point in the track/video. Is that possible?

No you need to use ads manager to run ads

Upload directly to TH-cam as a video. A distributor is not needed.

It depends on your goals. If you want to get more people to watch your TH-cam video send them there. If you want more Spotify streams send them there

TH-cam ads can kill your channel. How? Well if they are not targeted as precisely as possible your Audience Retention time will plummet, When that happens TH-cam stops sending your stuff out in their recommended. I had 2) videos that had 40% retention drop to 15% over a 3 day campaign run...it was going to be 10 day run but when I got my Analytics and saw the average view duration die I pulled it. ....40% is not good for a TH-cam ch. 15% is death. Also I watched natural views go to zero during the campaign. Over all if I really want that view count it's pretty cheap to get some views, but if you want continued growth of the Channel it's not a great plan. I started doing shorts instead and got more views off a Short than I did of the add campaign.
