Only topped by completely removing blood stains from a piece of wood after cutting yourself with a wheel marking gauge (after finishing I'll know about the "completely")
Those look dope! I know I’m gonna like this series and when you’re done (since this was the first), you can Ferris it at the end in a robe and tell people to go home…it’s over! 😂
That upholstery job turned out wicked. If you do the next stool just bring the top cover 25-30mm around the back when you staple it off, and you had it with the false bottom. Then staple the Velcro inside the void where you've cut the fabric off. Nailed it tho! they look awesome
Those are incredibly nice. I'm looking forward to this series because I am finally moving into my own apt after college without a roommate. Hopefully I'll have my own house in a year or so and this series will either give me inspiration on how to decorate OR torture me by thinking I could do it but not ever overcome the hurdle of actually getting started. Either way, really looking forward to this!
Love that you point out how many different ways there are to do things. For that example you gave with the bandsaw vs doing a cut raising the table saw blade, I tend to cut the curve part by drilling with a forstner bit to reduce sanding, followed by the bandsaw for the straight part.
This is the kind of stuff I really enjoy seeing! And I also broke down and bought a Domino! Best money spend ever...Time is money! Slowly replacing a lot of my tools with Festool!
I'm not usually one for commenting on someone else's stools; however, those are some nice looking pieces. Can't wait to see the house fully furnished with your work on display.
Totally sweet stools……nice design. Wonder who will finish their house project first in the next year, you, Jimmy or Laura 😀. I’m up for the ride…..thanks for all your videos.
Hey Dave, I heard you talking with Bob & Jimmy about how to make the furniture & art in each room work together without being all matchy matchy. You probably know this but I’ll throw it out anyway … consider making one signature piece in the room that has different elements that work well together. I’m thinking about something like the desk Sean Boyd just posted, but in your style. Take one or two of those elements and use them in another piece. Maybe you make wall art with contrasting wood, chamfers, and unique angles. You make the bed using those angles & one of the wood species. You make night stands with the other wood and chamfers. The pieces look different but the signature piece pulls it together. Love the stools. Keep it up!
Man, I love a good "expert" opinion on my woodworking, too. A co-worker told me how much the coffee table I built for my home sucked, and how it would fall apart after a season because blah blah blah. I made the table 6 years ago and it's still pristine. Suck it, Ryan.
9:03 You can use the Domino for a through-tennon too which would simplify the layout and glue-up process. Just make domino stock out of the wood of your choice add tap it through both pieces
Well done. Respectfully I think you should take the roundoover all the way through. I find accentuating a seam often looks better than trying to hide it. Really liked these pieces.
Nice chairs and nice video David - it was obvious you were having a lot of fun with this one!! I think the new house has given you a different motivation and you are Pumped!!! Can wait to see the nightstands!
Yesterday I finished putting together a stool using a piece of 150 (3.5 in thick) year old barn wood and it had a pretty good rock to it. Your comment of "all my shit rocks!!!!" made me feel a lot better about it. It's fixable of course but as wood workers we are always chasing perfection. Congrats on this new chapter. Looking forward to the journey and seeing what you come up with. Also "Come at me bro!!! What are ya gonna do?" Lmao!!!
I love your videos dude. Your humour and attitude are priceless. I also love the making it podcast. You’re the quiet one that goes “pow” with wisdom. Ace vibe between u guys 🤙
I don't know why but those white brackets supporting the bar, bothers me. : ) Wonderful video and story telling. Super rad looking stools. Love the design. Mahal for sharing! : )
"When you cut angles always save the cut offs because you'll need them for clamping." How is this not a pinned comment for the world to see for all time?!
Nice stools! It makes me feel like I can do it too, and makes me want to do it too. I should try! Regarding the brass lookin aluminium kick panel, you'd have actually used brass as the aluminium is showing after you cut it, for a more high end devil's in the details look
I’m digging this series! Such a good idea to use a bnb to showcase and advertise your work! A couple questions. If someone wants to buy a piece of furniture after staying at the house, are you going to sell them the one being used in the house, or take an order and make another one just like the floor model? My other question is how much did that much walnut cost you where you live?
Simple yet elegant, I think these stools turned out really nice. Congrats on all your success and starting this new chapter in your life! Excited to see how this project progresses as you build more :) love your content and your style and humour. I find myself busting out a laugh quite often watching your videos. Keep up the awesomeness brother!
I like what you’re doing/making! I wish I had a reason to travel there; I’d enjoy staying in your AirBnB. One quibble, though. If those “backs” were really intended to hide butt cracks, they should come up higher.
I will tell you what I am going to do!! I am going to finish watching the video because I enjoy all your videos. You just have some much great energy in all of them. Thank you for making always wanting to " Go Make Something". 👍👍I also wanted to say how you put safety first with the finger condom 😂😅
What software are you using for the design process? I love your videos, each one has inspired me to shake the dust off my tools and get building again.
I haven't even seen the whole video yet and need to comment how awesome these look! Might have to make some myself with some birch I've got😅 Btw I just made almost the exact same leg construction for a vinyl crate/shelf and it didn't wobble either, maybe there's something magic about that kind of frame!
I love all your work and I know my wife is going to make me build these stools, so thanks for that, but some constructive feedback: The ad break felt like I was listening to ChatGPT talk in a human body. It felt like the scene in Truman Show where she's having a break down and starts doing a commercial for "Mococoa drink"

@@Jsellers1965one of the best!
It's always a good idea to make a stool sample before moving on to the precious walnut.
💩
Isn’t peeling dried glue of your fingers one the great pleasures in woodworking.
Only topped by completely removing blood stains from a piece of wood after cutting yourself with a wheel marking gauge (after finishing I'll know about the "completely")
Obvs
Literally how I got my son to “help” me in the shop. He just kept gluing his fingers and peeling it off. 😂
Those look dope! I know I’m gonna like this series and when you’re done (since this was the first), you can Ferris it at the end in a robe and tell people to go home…it’s over! 😂
Love them!! I saw you watching Ferris Bueller. I watched War Games the other night while working.
When you have "showroom" nights, you should have these episodes playing on a TV in the background. Just for the vibe
Really nice looking chairs dude! Congrats and good luck with your new house!

"... I am a man of comfort..." A life choice we can all agree with!
I watch a lot of woodworking videos. Some, I watch and think "Yes, I will be making that,"
This is one of those times.
Dan gave great finger on the build demo shot. And you're producing very nice stools Dave.

Nice stools. Great tips as well!

Awesome! Plus love that you show the small mistakes. One of many reasons this is the best channel!!!

How do you calculate the amount of weight the foot rest can handle? You may get some Husky guests stepping up to sit in these?
Great job! You should wrap the beams on the ceiling with wood.
7:16 I like how you said "Come at me bro" but were careful not to say "Sue me!" lol
9:03 You can use the Domino for a through-tennon too which would simplify the layout and glue-up process. Just make domino stock out of the wood of your choice add tap it through both pieces
The bar stools look amazing. Can’t wait to see what you do with each build so very cool. Great job
Nice stools! When your done may have to rent for a few days and catch a mudhens game and some craft beers with the wife and leave kids at home! Haha
Beautifly simplistic. This would fit perfectly in my home. Bravo!
Sounds like a new t-shirt slogan… “all my shit wobbles”.😂😂
Using the sander spindle to trace the arc was one of those "how the hell did I not think of that!" moments. Thank you for all the great content.
Came here to say that!
That brass!! < chef’s kiss >
Love the color of the cushions! You are killing it.
Well done. Respectfully I think you should take the roundoover all the way through. I find accentuating a seam often looks better than trying to hide it. Really liked these pieces.
Time to paint over the colorful wall splotches
I almost detected you bringing the "mmm" back. Loving the projects. Use more domino's everybody loves that machine haha
Beautiful work, Dave! They look amazing!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Looking forward to the series. Hold in there, it’s gonna be great.
👍I love this series already!
Those are some fine looking bar stools! You look like you’re really having fun, can’t wait for the next in this series
It does not wobble due to the bottom two not being inline so it adds more stability. Love you vids.

Sweet! Really really beautiful, since I’m buildining a mini bar, I’ll buy the plans. Truly amazing! Your bnb will shine!
I don't know why but those white brackets supporting the bar, bothers me. : ) Wonderful video and story telling. Super rad looking stools. Love the design. Mahal for sharing! : )
They bother me as well. I'm going to work on the bar in the future. Thanks!!

I wonder if the kickplates would have been more durable with a bent lip that goes just a little way down the front?

Man you're on fire lately. Slowly and surely you are becoming my favorite woodworker 💪😊
oh man, thank you!!
Can't wait for the whole series.
Finding mistakes can be fun. There’s an eyelash in my island countertop. At parties I offer a bottle of wine to anyone who can find it.
Going to be a great series, looking forward to the next year+ of content!

I can't wait to come to your gallery/Airbnb.
For your next set of chairs, you can dominoe the piece of wood with the copper at a slight downwards angle, it will n
be more comfy on your feet.
This is going to be a great series. Love the stools
Where`s Kelly? Looking forward to this series. You have a great idea. ❤
Very sleek design, David, love it!
Looks great! Looking forward to seeing the rest.
All ways great videos with very good humor those stools look great and we know they would
Hey! Love the stools, what kind of finish did you use on them? I really like the way it looks on walnut
I’m going to politely ask that you mail that domino to my house so you don’t have to deal with haters anymore. That’s what I’m gonna do 😂😂
Dude! what a killer idea. Super compelling, will definitely be following along :)
If we book the Airbnb, do we get to have a beer with the owner? Lol 😆😉
Dave loving this new gear you found!
Off to a great start with these stools!
We love Dan.

Penciling you in!
Great job, they look really nice
This is to keep your butt-crack from showing 🤣 I love your videos man!
Very cool series idea, looking forward to more episodes!
One word. Awesome.
Remember when you were afraid of routers.
You've come so far.
I'm so proud of you.
I'm still afraid!
Great looking stools
Sweet mercy these turned out great!
Thank you!! ❤️
If I had a Fesstool Domino I'd use it also. But I don't, so I would just use my router and loose tenons. Nice bar stools!
I saw Transylvania 6-5000 in the background!
What software are you using for the design process? I love your videos, each one has inspired me to shake the dust off my tools and get building again.
Thanks! I'm using Shaper3D.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I shall have to dig the Ipad out.

Does that bandsaw have enough power to cut patterns in 8/4 material?
Yep. I've cut 4" bandsaw boxes on it. I highly recommend it and I have absolutely no affiliation with Rikon.
Really nice work!
excellent project
I'm working on a stool of my own right now
Very cool idea
