This tutorial is so helpful. I'm so bad at drawing straight lines with a ruler so I ended up creating my template in InDesign which worked so well for me and my stitching turned out perfect! I've bound things before and it turned out so wonky so it was a major improvement. Thanks Johanna for sharing your tips and tricks with us.
This is exactly the way I do it. So funny. Great minds. I always use a template to sew in my signatures. I highly recommend. If you have one of those clear rulers with the zero in the middle they are great for spacing out your marks for where your signature holes go. Awesome tutorial.
Thank you. This is so helpful. I have made a few junk journals but always have trouble getting the signatures in. You make this look so easy. I think I might be able to do it:) Your journal cover is lovely.
Amazing tutorial Johanna! The way you edit your videos just makes it so much more intriguing to watch! So excited to incorporate this technique into my journals! ❤
Thank you so much for posting this video, your always so clear with your instructions too, you make trying new things less scary and an actual joy to learn them! looking forward to your next video 🥰
Great video, Johanna. I use the three whole stitch but I do mine jjust a little bit differently when sewing in the signature. Your stitching is so very neat and pretty. Thank you.
So kind of you to do this video.I can never get my stitch lines straight! I make the template but it’s always off so this looks like it will help so much! Thank you! ❤
Do you have a video tutorial on how you made your most recent journal covers? The material is beautiful and it seems thin. Would love to see how you create your covers😉❤️
This is the video I’ve been waiting for! Thank you! ❤ I’ve always wondered how you did so many signatures! I’m definitely trying this, you made it look so easy. Hope I can do it. 😂 I’ve always done three signatures only. 🤗💕
Love it, thank you!! ❤ May I ask why you don't start and stop with the middle hole? I'm not sure if I asked that correctly lol (like go out the middle, in the bottom then out the top, and back in the middle. I hope that makes sense) just wondering if your way holds better or something 😊
Just the way i do it! I suppose because then I don’t have any single longer stitches (eg if i did that way, the stitch inside the journal would be 6 inches instead of 3 😊
Thank you for this helpful video. Approximately how many pages do you have in each signature? I think I make fewer signatures with more pages. I am wondering if more signatures with fewer pages would be better. It would be the same number of pages per journal. Thanks for any ideas you are willing to share. ☺️
Great video Johanna! How many pages do you typically put in a signature? For instance, on the journal in the video which has 8 signatures, how many pages in each signature?
Thank you. Can I ask a question please. How many pages do you typically have in a signature for the spacing used on the template? If there are lots of pages I assume therefore the spacing needs to be greater on the journal spine? I always seem to have to remove signatures from my bound journals 😢
Thank you. 😊 I am still using sewing yarn.(and have to cover up the spines afterwards😅😂) Would it be possible for you, to put links in the infobox that tell us, where to order the material you're using? The threads or the kraft tex and so on. These kind of things. Try and error can get pretty expensive and time consuming when it comes to craft supplies. Would be cool to know, what is already "approved" by you.😅 Greetings from Germany❤
💗Can you please make a video on how to make a beautiful birthday card to give to girlfriend or boyfriend on their birthday.❤️❤️🙏 And Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us🌞💗

Hey johanna. May i ask what kind of thread do you use in your journal charms?
Linen or waxed linen, (not too waxy is best)
@@JohannaClough thank you ❤
I love how you make journal making/binding so simple; it's ok if everything isn't perfectly measured out, it still looks good.
Very helpful! I do have to measure mine because I'm not spatial AT ALL!!!! Is that a new journal? It's beautiful! Thank you so much!
So kind of you to do this video.I can never get my stitch lines straight! I make the template but it’s always off so this looks like it will help so much! Thank you! ❤

I typically aim to keep it at 5, but depending on the papers included can go up to 7 or 8 if thin! I prefer more signatures with less in each
Great video-thank you❤
Do you have a tutorial on how you make your fabric journal covers?
