Filipino boat makers/ builders are underrated for decades. Filipino immigrants are believed to have first arrived in Louisiana in the 1760s on Spanish galleons bound for New Orleans. They are the crew. Built boats, ships and worked for the Spanish
That’s nice Wil, we are going to be neighbors by September 1st. How about a couple foreign neighbors go fishing in that beautiful new boat. I would like to talk to them about building me one. I am serious about both. I’m going to be living in Leyte, Leyte in two weeks. Hope we can have coffee someday soon.
Will, I would not get rid of that motor. It's only 20 horsepower - that's not a LOT of power. I've had a few boats over the years because I enjoy fishing, and I've had as much as two 225hp Yamaha motors on my boats. You can have too much power in your motors for your boat size, BUT you don't have to use it. I've often heard it said it's better to have too much power and not need it than to not have enough power. Remember also, I believe there were only two of you when you took your test ride. In the future, there will likely be more than two of you, along with whatever supplies/groceries you buy. You'll need that power to accommodate for the extra weight. I would NOT get rid of the motor.
Sir will , my question is why the bamboo being used on side to side of your boat 🛶for what purpose? I don’t mean to sound argumentative I like your boat but The motor it sounds like a lawnmower hopefully you will find better quality for motor, Sir Will I am happy for you 🫡
Bamboo is so that the boat never sinks and gives it balance,. And most of the motors sounds that way but actually I am going to find a different motor.
@@TheBlackManInTheVillage Dude - don't yank it on compression stroke. Where the 'hard part' is when you pull, just pull past that hard compression stroke and it will turn easy after that. Keep that size motor in that boat - be more enjoyable! LOL>
Nice looking boat Will.

But it's manual, and it's hard to start... lol
I'm happy to see that your boat is finished. Why is the engine too big for your boat?

Big Will 👌👍. How much did it cost to have a hand made boat ? Neat !
The boat was about $250-$300 to make and the engine cost around $275'
Will we know you’re trying to paint your boat Michael Jordan colors
Are you goin to install a shade?
Yes
And where this be? can the brutha' swim? That motor is fine for that boat - I would want my boat be the fastest around.
But it's manual and kinda hard to pull and start the engine. I need recoil or push start
