No one has completely straight hair naturally. So there isn’t a natural routine. It’s probably included heat tools. Also curly girl method is for waves and curls. Just use lighter weight products so gels rather than creams etc

Hey Isabella, I think you should try getting a layered haircut. Your hair right now has a very blunt, straight cut, so the top layers of your hair are getting weighed down. Look at the bottom layers - they are much more defined. So i think getting a right haircut might be very beneficial for you. You don’t need to go to the curly hair specialist, more often than not, they don’t have a lot of experience cutting wavy hair. Just go to your regular stylist and ask for some medium-short layers. I’m sure your hair would spring up. Keep up the good work, us wavies need to stick together!

Hi Isabella! I dont know if you will read my comment but I hope so cause I like you and watch your hair videos. You are the only youtuber I have seen sharing her struggling with hair and it's sort of enjoyable to see we are not the only one with this struggle. Anyway thanks to a video by Mane by Mel I have finaly figured out how to get perfect wavy hair. I mean they are not every day as wavy as when I have just washed them, but my hair is every day with defined waves/curls with no freeze and very shiny! And the secret is... moisture and protein balance! I love the castor oil mask by shea moisture that I use before my shampoo, and I also use a mousse enriched in proteins. And it's a dream came true! Good luck ❤

Ngl your hair does not look as bad as you describe it or maybe I am the only person thinking this way. Your hair texture is like the go-to hairstructure I know from every kinda curly haired girl. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Maybe just do what you want with your hair and accept it. For sure it wont be straight and silky anymore but your hair on the left side looks so muhc more natural and beautiful to me like idk. Maybe you need to hear this from a complete stranger on the internet. But thank you for sharing your journey as it helped me with my hair struggles as well.

My hair is mixed straight and wavy, but mostly straight with some waves in the back. I usually say my hair texture is not straight, not wavy. It’s frizzy. The only thing to tame it, is time between washes as the fizz will settle down naturally with the natural oils from my scalp, but i don’t think i’ll ever be able to achieve nice freshly washed hair with no frizz. These two things just don’t work together for me. I did try flaxseed gel but it didn’t do too much for me, i probably didn’t use enough :P
Following your entire journey i picked up some tricks that make the frizz more bearable (apple cider rinse, no heat, silk cap/pillowcase, protective sleep style) but it’s never fully gone. it did get better but it’s still very apparent. I’m happy with my hair tho.
    I love my hair.
    Just the way it is
So i wanna continue to care for it, not because i want it to “look better” but because i love it and i want it to be as healthy as possible 🥰
You helped me a lot on my way to healthier hair so thank you Isabella.
I hope one day you can love your hair too just the way it is. Because i know how hard that can be

i know that it's not for everybody but i started washing my hair with water only about a year ago and it's done wonders for my hair. it's a lot wavier than when i used shampoo and it's really healthy and not frizzy at all. Since you said that the oils from your scalp help you with frizz maybe that's something to look into. it takes some getting used to and the transition period is pretty bad but for me it was totally worth it

My hair is so confusing. I have been wearing it straight my entire life. When I blow dry it, it dries straight. I noticed when I let it air dry it has a very slight wave. No frizz, just a light bend. I wouldn’t say it’s 2a texture but it’s definitely not straight. I don’t known if I should keep treating it like straight hair or if I should try to find a routine that enhances my natural “wave”.

    • @hajarlouani4846

I agree with the previous comments, you're hair is probably wavy but that doesn't mean you have to change your routine especially if your current routine still works for you and if you want to wear your hair wavy just let it air dry and see what happens :) This is not because your hair is wavy that you have to wear it this way or search to enhance it

Hi! I just watched this video, and then watched your 'my hair journey' video. Best of luck with figuring out your hair! I'm trying to figure out my frizzy hair too. You mentioned that you've done a lot of deep conditioning to try to fix your frizz, and I was wondering if you've looked into hydral fatigue? Sometimes your hair can go frizzy because of excess water rather than lack of moisture. Since you've done a lot to keep your hair moisturized, I wonder if that might not be an issue for you. Apparently there are two things you can do to help this:
    - Apply a heavy oil like coconut or olive oil to dry hair, at least 30 minutes before washing your hair. This prevents your hair from soaking up too much water. (I got this from the Curly Chemist here on TH-cam)
    - Use more products that contain proteins, or do protein treatments (like putting egg in your hair for 10-20 minutes before washing).
I'm going to be trying the pre-poo oil method on my next wash day tomorrow myself. I hope you or someone else finds this useful!

Something that has helped my wavy frizzy hair on the curly method is changing the way I brush my hair. I have reduced my breakage by more than half by brushing my hair with a wide tooth comb from the ENDS up. (if you head little crinkle noises when you're brushing your hair it is the sound of your hair breaking!!! its not the sound of going through knots, it is your hair breaking off).

I was wondering if you could make a video on plopping. It basically means you style your hair and add product when it is soaking wet, then let it sit in a T-Shirt/Microfiber towel for a bit before you finish drying. It is supposed to help with definition and formation of curl clumps (these individual curl strands).

Girl you need to try using a lightweight leave in, cream and then the gel. I have 2C/3A hair but when I started transitioning my hair was your frizzy side. For your hair type maybe use a leave in spray then the tiniest amount of cream and then your usual gel 👍🏼 you’ll have great definition, volume and no frizz 🙌🏼

My hair used to be puffy, without bounce and definition. I recently switched to a completely natural shampoo and I banned conditioners (because they almost always contain quats) and oh my gosh, after a couple of weeks my hair has completely transformed. Actually, I came back to my natural hair, when it is washed only, in the most natural way possible, without any chemicals added to it. It feels light, bouncy and I see the individual strands without any added product. Only a gentle shampoo that's all it needs. Oh and oiling before shampoo (I use Complexe 5 from René Furterer and Amalaki oil from Blue Beautyfly). My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. Hope this helps.

I like the care and attention you give to this hair journey, and how it shows in your videos. Especially how you do that without going too far. I.e., you try to stay balanced and objective about so you don't lose yourself in the process. Not too much anyway, heh!

You can try to use a protein containing product of any kind. Like conditioner or curl cream. The protein will add the fragments back into your hair strands and help with frizz without gel.

i have the same hair texture and length and i recommend using any kind of oil and braiding it lightly to not interfere with the natural wave pattern but enough to give it definition so it won't be frizzy

Niiice! One comment: maybe squish even more the conditioner, like trying to rinse it out with water and squishing. It really makes a difference

Hi Isabella , have you considered doing the Brazilian keratin treatment again?

Hi Isabella, first of all sorry for bad english, it's just not my natural language. My wave pattern is 2b 2c kinda similiar to yours, maybe a bit thighter. I struggle with my hair a LOT. Like 2 weeks ago a had the best washday I have ever had and I used just leave in conditioner. My hair looked amazing without refresh even on day 3 and 4 and I was so happy that i finally found a good routine that fits me. But today i did the exact same thing and my hair is frizzy and undefined but very soft to touch. I figured out that I might have moisture overload. Maybe this is you problem too.

my hair looks like that when i dont use gel too! but sometimes i dont use gel if i want to my hair to dry quicker or if i feel lazy and want it tied up for the day. strangely enough when i take my hair tie off my hair is practically straight but it still clumps and less frizzy than usual. maybe this is what they mean when they say wavy hair is versatile
