A bit of an overwhelming tutorial to create as Boris has a long list of songs he plays in his sets. I've picked some songs to create bass-lines inspired from. If you guys have any specific songs with a bass you would like leave it here and I'll update this tutorial in the future!
Wow great I really love the Brechja Basslines, they are the Hardest ones. Could you include an Kick tutorial, because in my opinion his Basslines are becoming so strong in combination with his Kicks 😉
Would love more tutorials on Boris, his sound is so broad. There's a lot of bell sounds drenched in reverb, pads etc that creates his dreamy vibes. Always wanted to learn them!
If your in ableton, take any standard preset that has the type of timbre you want, add reverb and grain delay, and resonator if you want a metallic vibe. Grain delay is the key tho
Boris is one of my best friends & I´ve been watching him producing for years now. Soooo good how you turned that into Serum ◡̈ interesting for me how that is done as well. thx
Hiya, very helpful, thanks! Sometimes I think it's as much about the notes and application of the sounds as much as the sounds themselves. So I'd like to see how to work the bass with the kick to get it really grooving. I'd like Purple noise bassline pls.👍
dayum, this was some serious amount of input within 16min, thanks man! as for ideas on certain brejcha tracks: id love to learn how he programmed and generally arranged the basses of "night owl" (pretty underrated track in my opinion). cheers!
Finally I found Brejcha for Serum. Thanks Zen! But I would really love a kick & bassline-glue for his darker bassheavy ones. Like the songs: Sad But True (I would love to get a tutorial of that bassline) - Thunderstorm - Gravity (That pumping/chopped bassline) - Streets of Gold (Those REALLY nice 'Mid - MidHighs & Highs') ... Hands down his best work!
Thanks so much for this video! It actually made me buy some of your sounds and they sound great. Boris is just amazing at what he does and one of my favorite artists. I struggle sometimes to get that fat bass sound and all these little tips and tricks really helps me out.
KING! Thanks! If you could make a vid about Ann Clue's "Consciousness" or "Rumbling Conversations" harmonics and elements of the track it would be awesome..
i did the same exact settings in serum for those basses and i hear a little annoying resonance ringing sound, it seems to come from the basic shapes ! when i change the waveform it disappear... someone is having the same issue ? it is really in the background you have to use heaphones to hear it...
In his Steinberg tutorial he is showing to use FF Saturn as a sidechain. In other videos he claims not to use sidechain at all. It would be nice to make an tutorial how possibly he can get that SC sounding that nice :-) Frequency shaping? or what :-)
Im pretty sure the random starting point of the phase on the Square does not affect the overall sound.. Since it's a pure monophonic square sound... You're not the one who comes up with those sounds, right? :)
Hey Zen what do you think about the Bassroom Mastering the Mix plug-in for mixing electro styles like this?? Low end seems to be a constant struggle for me lol
I have been trying to figure out his bass sound for awhile. Fab Filter One is super simple to do this with. Just a few knob twists and u are there. But I love Serum.
Sorry, but while you are making alot of Techno Tutorials about German Producers, I would like to introduce you Andreas Henneberg. Have a Look at his awesome tracks especially "You Ain't". I don't know how He creates these compressed tight Baselines and Kicks. It is an incredible underrated Artist I think. PS. Thank you for making great Tutorials Zen 😘
Brejcha is the god of basics, he implements simple things very well in his music.
