I´ve been to Thong Nai Pan, too, and it is a really quiet beach, perfect for relaxing, no action, no noise. I was there a few years ago ,hope they didn´t build too many more resorts there.You don´t really need a tour operator there, just a few baht for a taxi and off you go to any beach you want, ask if there are free rooms and relax on the beach....:-)) ENJOY

I haven't been to Koh Phangan. The beaches in Aruba are the most beautiful I have ever personally visited. Comparing Koh Phangan to the beaches of Aruba was meant as a compliment. I'm sorry you didn't take it as that.
Looks a lot like Aruba. Constant breeze, beautiful water. In Aruba, the trees on the beaches are divi-divi, not palm. The island is made of volcanic rock and coral. And yes, the beaches are littered with bronzed beauties.

im going here in one month staying at a 5 star resort,santhyia on top of the hill,and we got a sea view villa with own pool!!cannot wait,,this is our honey moon!!The resort is just next to the smaller beach thong nai pan noi i guess

Haad Yao beach, outside Haad Yao Bungalows 400 Bt/night - Nice fan room with fridge, TV, hot water and safe. Good food in their restaurant on the beach at the best price
depends where u stay, we spent 4000,flight and 8 nights at a 5 star resort which is the expenciest resort on island i heard,,and we have a villa with own pool and sea view,but i guess u can spend half if u use those private villas,bungalow,,,this is our honeymoon so we took the best
What is this place like to visit aside from the full moon party? I want to just relax on some beaches and do some snorkeling. Are there still girly bars around in the evenings?
@nativeminimal Its shit, it doesent cost 3000 minimum. Have been there this july. We have been for 3 weeks. Been to bangkok, krabi, phi phi, phangan and samui. We traveled from bkk to the south by plane and back by plane, from munic to bkk by plane too (non stop flight). We had good apartements (3 persons) with flatscreens hanging around everywhere (better european standard) for 30€ a night. The trip costed about 2500€ total (with drinking beer, hotels, flights, scuba diving etc. etc...)
... if u want to have it cheaper u will get it for about 1500 total (flight included). But than u have to take cheaper (but not messy or uncomfortable) hotels.

@nativeminimal Koh Phangan and Koh samui u will not spend much at all cause there is nothing other than relaxing i spent in 4 days there about 150 euro happily and got my hotel room for 50 euro per night its 4 stars hotel on the beach

Was there in 08' and loved it... Moped overheated on the way over, but that was part of the fun, Go!
