I was on Doulos too 1993-1995 als had some rough storms..of Waver with more then 9 meter high...everyone was seasick...just a Cook (me) and and ingeneer ...i steered the MV Doulos then while no one else could..Doulos was drifting....every one seasick...no one behind te wheel when i came to the bridge...God saved us all!!! Big hug you all. Remember...God is taking care of His children. Even by Using a Cook behind te wheel..❤
This makes me homesick, I grew up on Doulos 1980-1989 voyages were my favourite. I also got to bring my Wife and two children onboard and sailed from Auckland to Wellington in 2008
Nice film, I served as an Engineer for many years, Doulos was very stable in storms, even storms worst then that. God know what He was doing to chose this ship for His service.
We were on the Doulos Feb 1978 to March 1979 and it was a great experience. We were in rough seas in the North Sea where the ship would dive into a swell and you could hear the loud suction sound as it came up. It was a wild ride and most people were ill from motion sickness. We had 3 children, one a newborn and praise God I did not feel sick!
Got some photos of her in Adelaide, saw her library and engine room, did admire rivet Work. Another hundred Years For You Doulos. Hope They take care of You in Asia. Greetings for You All, Rob
