  • The Mk8 Ford Fiesta ST is a hot hatch lover's dream but can it be improved? Mountune’s performance enhancements bring the power up to 225PS thanks to a new airbox, air filter and ECU. The car also sits lower to the ground and has various styling updates. But do these modifications do enough?

    Recently seen this has been updated by Mountune to the m235 kit, now 235bhp. Its £85 for anyone who already has the m225 package.

    Ford needs to bring back the Focus and Fiesta STs to the US. We love some hot hatchs too!

    Nice review! I'd be curious to know if the M225 option will make it to the States, though (and a bit dubious that it will).

    Having a mode on the ECU which both shuts the engine down and can be triggered remotely isn't a security feature, it's a vulnerability.

    You say you dont notice any extra performance, then you say you can. And when is spinning the wheels at the top of 2nd gear going to be good for anyone? You want grip not slide at the top of 2nd gear. Sounds like save £795 because the stock car is good enough. Mudguards are awful wheels are gross. Gearstick and spolier looks like something free out of one of those chav modding magazines🤣

    ‘Flicking water into the mudguards’ …oh dear - nothing to do with the car diving under braking on lowered springs then?

    The triple sounds fantastic, is that the standard exhaust, and are the Mountune mods all still covered by Ford's warrantee?

    • @rh6777
      @rh6777 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're not covered by warranty. There was too much of a cost involved to get Ford's endorsement. Not certain on the exhaust; the Mountune one will soon be released but I can't spot it in this video - I'm expecting it's on that car though as it's the Mountune demo vehicle

      Not covered that’s why there’s no way I’m putting my 3 yr Ford warranty on the line with an engine that’s already plenty quick enough for most folks in stock! Maybe further down the line though ?

    Sounds like it makes no difference,but you do get to disable the car for £700 lol,dont fix what aint broken maybe?

    Better off with the revo map. Much more power much more torque and ultimately more fun without affecting any of the cars driving modes

    I can never help but feel that a Fiesta ST is a bit like polishing a turd. It's just an economy car with some extras - unless you're 20 I don't see the point of them.

    Why do you poms still rate a cars power with bhp?? You do drive around on your flywheel ya pelicans haha

    • @richardharrold9736
      @richardharrold9736 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BHP or PS is what the whole world uses. Nobody outside Australia uses kilowatts. Koenigsegg did make a bit of a deal about their 1-megawatt car, admittedly. Anyway, whatever units you use, all jurisdictions mandate the use of flywheel power figures, as transmission losses vary from car to car. Personally, I think both sets of figures should be published so people can compare the efficiency of the whole drivetrain between cars.
