For those of us living in thrifting deserts, passing on a pink depression era console bowl is unbearable. However, I understand your rationale as a business owner living in the land of plenty!😂
Indeed, Kathleen.....I'm blessed to live here in the north east in the most densely populated state in the USA filled with old houses and old stuff. I'm going to liquidate all of the pink console bowls I currently have in storage before I start to replenish the lot.
I am constantly amazed at the amount of the great treasures resellers can find in PA. But another area where resellers find lots of treasures in Las Vegas! I didn’t think that would be such a great place for thrifting and estate sales…but seems that it is. I follow some LV resellers and it blows my mind the amount really good to fantastic finds that come their way...and many of them are from the area’s Goodwill’s. I just looked it up and the greater Las Vegas area has 17 Goodwills…17 stores! and they’re all relatively close together. I live in suburban Md, in the DC metro area. Goodwill of Greater Washington, DC, lists 21 stores. Sounds like a lot, but that covers a much bigger area (DC, MD, VA) and traffic here is of the horrible sort. Im sure other parts of the US can be great too…I just don’t know where those parts might be.
Scott, for those poor souls that did not grow up with sitting reading books in Wing Back chairs, we’ll let me tell you, they were so comfortable, as a kid , we used to throw our legs over the arms of the chair , strategically pretend we were sitting at the beach enjoying our Summers, but plowing through School Summer Reading lists.
Yes, I mean I have a certificate given by my peers from Wing Back Chair Society, upholstered in Any brocade, velvet, even leather in my Father’s Library. They are the most comfortable chairs, all size humans would agree. Scott, that price was $4.99, what delicious, memories to pass up. Not to mention that fireplace was beyond Devine, would could work that into any decor!
That aqua vase is the real Mc Coy, I have collected pastel Mc Coy pottery and that was a great buy, the color is extremely rare! 👏👏👏👏nice work!

YES!! I was just remembering my grandparents red leather Wingback. When we visited in the summer I would read books from their shelf in it. And a matching ottoman❤️🌟
The best find was the Raggedy Ann and Andy mug for Tammy!

NJ has an abundance of nice old pieces. It’s so hard to walk away from the furniture.

Like the milk glass large banana boat; also the blue vase; wished I was shopping with you when you showed the elegant clear depression plate with the unique handles that you put back====so so pretty.
My two favorites from this escapade are the big banana boat and the black Cambridge plates. Dreamy. Definitely was swooning over the radio, and the base of the floor lamp marriage. Now I may just go sit awhile in my old green wing chair with nice hot coffee (no pumpkin spice).

Those floral 50s/60s lamps and my thrift stores have price tags of $50-$65. Of course they just sit there. Nobody buys them, but the prices don't go down either.
Indeed and they are almost impossible to resell. I love them....but there is almost no market or demand for them today.
i have a chair like that. my daughter hates it. if i were to get a new one, it would be just like it again just a different color. mine is taupe and maroon, but it's faded. looks more rose colored now. it's slightly velvet. i love it.
Avocado green doesn’t turn me one either. But I’m glad you picked them up because I did get excited when I saw them. I have a green basket from my grandmom. I want to know more about it.

I decorated with white and sage green last January.
I have a wingback chair I bought at a yard sale, waiting to be reupholstered in a very nice printed linen fabric, but that $4.99 wingback is nicer! Wish I could switch them.

The Port has been given funds to remove the asbestos in The Crowley factory building here in Cincinnati. I believe they will put apartments/condos in! Just an FYI ✌🏼

I live outside of Philly and a employee told me that they dont put anything over $30 on the floor. So u know where the good Goodwills r in Philly because u always find vintage and i dont see it, where i am, oh well. Your just lucky 😉
I think the Goodwills in the city seem better stocked than the Goodwills in the suburbs of Philly ever are. But it is also the amount of time Scott puts into it. He is out there every day.

6:24 OMGee to the right of the yellow wingback is a coffee table that looks exactly like one I think I donated or sold years ago. Maybe it’s the same one! I guess as much as things change hands, we never know where our “stuff” could end up! What a hoot if it was.
