    My Dad was a 30 year USAF Officer, 17 of those years as a Pilot and Squadron Leader. Spam was a huge staple in our home because there were 6 kids and the "meat" was economical! We kids LOVED Spam! My Parents have since gone to Touch The Face Of God. I have No Doubt both would LOVE this video...especially Mom because she loved to experiment with "Dishes" and we kids really looked forward to what surprises she made for us! Love hanging out with you all. Always feels like a Family Reunion and that might sound cheesy but I'm quite sure I'm not the only Fan who feels this way! The Cicada's "chatting" outside in the background made this visit even better! Blessings from up the road in COW-lumbus! MOO and Keep Strutting!

      Yes I love Spam as well. Remember in times of conflict Spam kept our brave soldiers on the front line fit and healthy. It’s amazing what dishes you can make with spam. Sandwiches, spam, egg and fries, spam with vegetables, stew it, fry it, oven bake it, it’s so versatile😋

    It's like You made, corned beef in a can like we have in the EU but you made it with deer, Would be really nothing like Spam. Though it is still on sale to this day, I personally Hate the stuff, haha.. but corned beef i love.

    C'mon guys y'all didn't give SPAM a fair shake. Y'all didnt smoke it like you did your venison spam and then fry it up. I love Spam and grew up eating it. I don't have it as much as I use to due to the saltiness but when I get the craving I and my kids have it in omlettes or fried up and made into sandwiches. It's also delicious in stove top mac n cheese or in a salad. Your venison spam looks delicious as well and I would definitely try it. I wonder what other dishes will you make with your venison spam?

    I take pretty much everything you say on meat & butchery as fact, but let's get real here on that spam. It's absolutely not a high quality meat product and it's certainly not a good source of anything other than salt, saturated fats, and that unique spam taste. love the videos and the tips & tricks in butchery. helped a guy carving up multiple pork shoulders & briskets for smoking everyday like me quite alot...

    I don't see why you couldn't pressure can the raw product in tapered wide mouth pint or better yet, 1 1/2 pint jars for easy preservation.
    It will be round, but you can still slice it. ( it should shrink slightly and come out in tact)
    I think part of the spam benefit is emergency usage prepps.
    Reduce your dependence on electricity.

      'They' say you shouldn't try to can solid chunks of meat, but I've done solid tuna and salmon filets & wild game roasts for years in quart jars without issue. I'm just sure it's been at temp long enough, give it a couple more minutes if in doubt.

      I’ve done burger in jars and never had an issue there either. Started with raw product mixed with spices like chili and pressure canned away.

    Y'all need to GRILL a can of spam. Cut it into 4 slices, the long ways, cut on both long edges, so you get 4 "squares" about 1/2 inch thick.
    GRILL it over coals, or gas.
    Put on hamburger bun, with ketchup ( for me )
    so good....
    Yours might be even better like that.

    Pretty cool! Could still see some air voids/pockets in the final product - is there any way you could 'pipe' it in to the pans to avoid that, or the mix is too coarse for that? Still a great way to use deer & shows it is more versatile than you think!

    Spam is delicious and it doesn’t smell like cat food. 🤦‍♂️ In the military it was/did have a higher value. Why it has a hella shelf life. Secondly fat is more valuable than pure protein like your deer in a survival situation. Spam isn’t per say trademarked.
    Many Asian countries among others have there own versions. A can of spam is like 8 individual servings and is meant if possible to be cooked to a crunchy consistency. Totally safe to eat uncooked. You made deer loaf which I’d gladly consume 👍🏻. It’s kinda like all beef hot dogs. I can eat them but prefer the nothing can be identified $1.00 a pack with chili dog sauce on them 😂 Spam is the ultimate survivalist meat. We like it but most people we know don’t lol.

    Quick hint: You can use cooking paper to tap the meat. Nothing will stick to it and you will have clean hands or gloves.

    You kept referencing SPAM but then described it as more like bologna. I suspect for both you would need to properly emulsify the meat of your choice and fat. I’ve accidentally done this in years past when grinding my deer, before I learned to freeze it first

    Speaking of Doe (dough) I use balls of bread to clear the last of the meat from my grinder. Store bought bread. Homemade bread tastes too good to waste like that. I have to hand it to you, you made SPAM (DAM?) look appetizing. The ice trick is a keeper! I've used a little cold water but hadn't thought or heard of using ice before now.

    Last month we visited my family in south Texas and we went to their local supermarket to get some steaks for a backyard BBQ, I was almost in shock -the steaks were super tender and super delicious - we live in Nevada and I noticed in the last 2 years steaks have lost it's flavor ( it doesn't matter where we buy them) when in Texas the cashier informed us they get their meats from a local rancher, do you know what's going on lately with the meat ? Is it the time from the butcher house to our location that's making the difference in taste comparing to other parts of the USA ? I remember in the past steaks used to taste just like the ones we had in Texas , we keep hearing so many stories lately about the new political situation don't want people to eat meat anymore , I know it sounds crazy but we did noticed the different quality and flavor of those steaks.thank you for your time.

    Span is a Potted meat food product. So, you can't make Spam unless you cook it in its sealed container. You can use mason jars and follow meat canning procedures. But you got the seasoning right

    Well? I missed seeing this video and am watching after your video yesterday of making deer BACON. Yup, you now have me diving head first into all the freezers doing my fall clean out of all our game meat, pork and beef to try these interesting ways to use it up! SPAM or DAM, I am sure we can make it all taste great. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Spam is popular in Hawaii where I am from I’m not a huge fan though. You guys should do a Hawaiian style Portuguese sausage. Btw Hawaii has deer goats hogs sheep to hunt and quite a few fowl.
