We just bought a 27 North Venture van on a MB 170 Standard AWD chassis. If we had seen this first, we would have gone for it in a heartbeat. This checks all the boxes for what we are looking for in an overlander. Great job!
I used to have a custom lowrider car with hydraulics. We used to joke that we should re-route the windshield sprayer to underneath one of the back rear tires. When I three-wheeled the car it kind of looked like a dog with it's rear leg in the air so if we had re-routed the windshield sprayer we could then lift the rear wheel and pee on cars whenever we ended up next to some jerk in traffic. @@AdaptiveHumanity Very nice. Will do, if I hear of someone looking for one. By the way do you have price points in mind? We shoved that thing in places that a side by side would go. Literally down atv trails that people were mind blown and taking video. You also have to remember bumpers were changed, 35” tires and 3” lift were added. Only part that sucks is the 70/30 4x4 and Mercedes transfer case is built for maybe a few pot holes. Our opinion if you want to do what we were doing or more buy a truck or have a complete custom driveline with Dana axels and lockers put in. @@AdaptiveHumanity Thanks. Storyteller claims their Beast Mode model has a true low range. Do you think that's something they did since it (based on what you said) didn't come from Mercedes?

I’m curious about the fire prevention feature that was described as following wherever the electrical wires went. I had a fire in my RV that started from a lithium power pack I left on the dash in front of the driver section. I really don’t know how long it had been burning before we discovered the fire but a lot of the dash in front of the driver compartment was smoldering. I first used a chemical fire extinguisher about the same size as shown in your video and then used a garden hose to finish putting out the fire before the fire trucks arrived. I’m presuming that what you have in your setup is also a chemical fire extinguisher. What I discovered is the chemical composition in the extinguisher was very corrosive, especially to metal surfaces, and anything it got in contact with was impossible to clean or take off. What I’m implying is that while it may save lives, it’s call to put out the start of a fire could very well total the vehicle as the whole electrical system would have to be removed and replaced. I guess the best is to careful and never have a fire in your RV.
Our auto fire supresor covered our house electrical not vehicle. If you did have to replace anything it would be the house system and house batteries. We used eldie fire balls for automotive in the engine bay and dash. But in the end I guess it’s better to have a totaled rv and be alive and well to make the insurance claim. Nice build. I have the same problem with Owl racks and boxes stressing the windows and blowing them out. Was the PC window install basically the same as an AMA or glass window? Did you paint the PC? Thanks.
The PC window was wrapped on the outside with 3m vehicle wrap. The window was set using adhesive but also screwed into place. Wrap covered the screw heads.
Have you checked antigravity batteries? I run them in my rig. 2/3 the weight of BattleBorne all the same capability. Also physically smaller. Great rig! I'll look for where it is for sale.
Wow now that's a well thought out and executed build. It seems like you would consider building an overlanding rig like this for folks interested in overlanding. I saw some price points of anywhere between 100 to 300k. Does that include the sprinter van or is that price point just for the conversion and upgrades? Where are you based out of?
This van came together so fast from what I remember, lol! I had no idea how awesome it was! Whats the projector screen and fuse panel, (and awesome ceiling lights if you get a chance....) I don't think I missed the specifics for those.... Those 3 things would elevate my build for sure! Awesome rig you did here! :)
The lights are nano-leaf, the screen is a pop up framed table top screen, it was just mounted upside down so it pulled down. The fuse panels are all blue sea.
This is an amazing build!!! Love the Nanoleaf lights!! Are you running the lights on DC or AC? If it’s DC, I didn’t see anything on their website for a DC power adapter.
@@marshal.van.mathers so there are Nono leafs that are 24v. I can give you the name tomorrow when I get to the shop. The 24v don’t have all the stuff the other ones have but are still cool.
Due to the spare tire and the box you have to be more then 3 cars away to see the full light. The bumper light was hard wired just kept ripping it and the wires off while off road. If I were to do it again I would put lights in the bumper and call it a day.

Hey, did you mean 280 watts from the second alternator? You said amps...If indeed are amps, please let me know what kind of alternator and DC to DC charger you guys are using :)
It is amps! 280 amp second alternator with Belmar external regulator with a lithium program. You can check them out on nations alternator. No dc to dc charger as it is a dedicated house bank alternator.
@@AdaptiveHumanity You are right, didn't think of that. Thanks for the reply! :)
Looks like its been through some tight trails.
That is what it was built for! If it’s shiny and perfect on the outside your not using it the correct way.
@@AdaptiveHumanity same with mine 😂
On the bench seating in the back would you be able to add seatbelts to have a total of four people two in the front and two in the back safely?
It is definitely possible!
I'm curious what van has a better chasis that DOES have 4x4 capabilities? What did they upgrade to? I wish ProMaster was 4x4 their mistake!
Our personal Rig is a 6X6 LMTV, So no van. To answer your question on a van more capable that would be an E series with 4X4 conversion, Dana axels, lockers and manual transferase. PS sprinter is ditching 4x4 this year. We also own Adaptive Overland Engineering that builds custom rigs so if interested shoot us an email.
Very nice build, it goes any way, love this van, must cost arm and legs to build
You would be surprised, we actually have trucks coming available that are reasonable and not bloated builder price.
I see what u did thr😂😂
what was the cost of the entire van? look out of this world man..amazing work
Actual build cost is around 300k, we are actually building overland vehicles and custom parts now. If interested you can drop us an email or see us at the overland expo west, flagstaff AZ may 20-22.
To you from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, best regards
Thanks!
Dude....that is an amazing build and man if I had the $$$$$$$$$ I would do something similar! simple questions..where did you get that projector screen? I'm looking for something compact and I like that it has those supports built-in. Thx
Looks like they only have the 40” an 50” now but here is the link to Amazon a.co/d/j7kmASu
Love the shoes. Got the same ones. Vans not bad either 😊❤
🤣 thanks
so, how much did this unit go for?
the correct question would probably be: how much would it sell brand new?
Brand new around 300-375k depending on the base van price and material costs at the time. We are actually building overland vehicles and custom parts. If interested drop us an email or you can check us out at the overland expo west, flagstaff AZ may 20-22
I love it I just love everything about this Van it's amazing great job
Thanks!
Normally the interiors on these disappoint, butbthis is pretty sweet Not exactly what I would do, but still great, especially those custom seats.
What a build!! Very impressed!
Have you checked antigravity batteries? I run them in my rig. 2/3 the weight of BattleBorne all the same capability. Also physically smaller. Great rig! I'll look for where it is for sale.
I have not, I will look into them though. Thanks
Have you sold it yet? Love it!
That one sold super quick, but we are always able to do a custom build for you if interested.
Thanks for the comment. We are based in Clearwater Florida and price points are without van.
This is one of the best builds I have seen. Very cool!!
Thanks!
It’s a pity it’s not right hand drive. I love the van
Well. He’s got the correct dog.
No more videos, why?
This van came together so fast from what I remember, lol! I had no idea how awesome it was! Whats the projector screen and fuse panel, (and awesome ceiling lights if you get a chance....) I don't think I missed the specifics for those.... Those 3 things would elevate my build for sure! Awesome rig you did here! :)
The lights are nano-leaf, the screen is a pop up framed table top screen, it was just mounted upside down so it pulled down. The fuse panels are all blue sea.
@@AdaptiveHumanity awesome, and Thank you for taking the time to reply! :)
Amazing, well done guys 👍
I think you're missing a bathtub or sauna and hammock swingset
Saw it earlier in the build but wow the finished van in awesome.
This is an amazing build!!! Love the Nanoleaf lights!! Are you running the lights on DC or AC? If it’s DC, I didn’t see anything on their website for a DC power adapter.
They were ran on A/C even though they are a dc light. The voltage was different though it was like 52vdc or something stupid like that.
@@AdaptiveHumanity Thank you. Darn, I was trying to avoid using AC in our Sprinter.
@@marshal.van.mathers so there are Nono leafs that are 24v. I can give you the name tomorrow when I get to the shop. The 24v don’t have all the stuff the other ones have but are still cool.
@@AdaptiveHumanity sweet man!!! I just followed you on IG. I’ll send you a message
@@marshal.van.mathers email is adaptivehumanity@gmail.com
But you cant see the back lights? Why not hard wire that back ledstrip?
Due to the spare tire and the box you have to be more then 3 cars away to see the full light. The bumper light was hard wired just kept ripping it and the wires off while off road. If I were to do it again I would put lights in the bumper and call it a day.
awesome 😎Fantastic job!
really like the shower valve with pause function, which brand is that?
It was actually 2 separate parts. We bought the shower head then found a valve that the color matched and added that for pause feature.
Only if you could make a build vlog
Takes way to long to do TH-cam while building on tight deadlines. Which we could do it though!
AWESOME monster of a camper van.!
Nice build ! You mention in the beginning wanting to move to a better beefier chassis ? which one?
We decided to go with a Stewart & Stevenson M1083
@@AdaptiveHumanity congrats thats a huge upgrade! cant wait to see the build out progress.
Dicen q los perros se parecen a sus dueños pero esto lo supero. FELICIDADES TIENES UN VEHICULO INCREIBLE YO VOY POR EL MIO A CUMPLIR MI SUEÑO ALGUIEN PODRIA ORIENTAR CUAL ES MEJOR PRECIO CALIDAD , sprinter.ford transit. Ram
How the hell does the fire suppression system go with an electrical system?
To stop any Electrical Fires 🔥
@@AdaptiveHumanity Yeh I figured but what grade fire extinguisher is it? Generally fire suppression and electrical fires don't go together very well. Electricity.
@@WanderingandWilderness the compound in the extinguisher is specifically for electrical. I don’t know it off the top of my head. It comes from the Marine Industry.
Great sense of humoure,; of course, you jest.
how much cost to build everything planning to get
one soon!
Depends on what you want done. Nothing is ever the same.
@@AdaptiveHumanity what do u think better sprinter or transit?
@@GodZain101 depends on what you want to do, if you are off road a lot then sprinter if you are never off road or do some light forest roads transit. But if you want 4x4 get your sprinter now because next year they are no longer doing 4x4 they are going to a AWD. Honestly if you spend not your time off road I would skip a van and build a truck.
That's pretty badass
Thanks
Could you tell me what the name of that projector is? I’m looking for something small that I could install on my boat. Thanks.
Sorry for the delay, the projector was a anker nebula.
Cool Van!! Nice job!!
Thanks!
How much is the asking price?
Sold for $195k
How much would you charge to convert another person's van to the exact specs of this one?
