  • President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicated the Paris France Temple on Sunday, May 21, 2017. It’s the first temple in France and the 156th temple in the world.
Prior to the dedication, President Eyring conducted the symbolic ceremony that signifies the construction is complete and the new temple is ready for dedication.
Joining President Eyring were Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Elder Larry Y. Wilson, executive director of the Temple Department; Elder Paul V. Johnson, president of the Church’s Europe Area; and Presiding Bishop of the Church, Gérald Caussé.
Bishop Caussé explained that the cornerstone ceremony is part of the consecration of the temple. Behind the cornerstone is historical documentation, artifacts and testimonies from members of the Church in France. “These are your testimonies,” said Bishop Caussé. “What a beautiful chance to have a temple here.”

Our bishop went through with his family. So lovely to have Australians at open house. Lovely for France and emotional as I not long ago wrote a short bibliography of an Australian World War 1 soldier who served in France. How choice the families can attend this temple and grow in righteousness. Holiness to the Lord.

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints dedicated its first temple in France on Sunday May 21st."
There is a little mistake here. The first temple in France was dedicated October 13th-22nd 1983 in Papeet. There are quite a few Tahitians in my ward, most of them servicemen or veteran with their families who are offended when the Church seems to forget that French Polynesia is fully a part of the French Republic, one and indivisible.

Beautiful!!!The LDS temples have always been beautiful. As a teen growing up in the church, I was able to go there and do temple work. The youth in the video, did a beautiful performance! Thank you for sharing.
I'm no longer LDS, however, I do miss the church. I hope France enjoys the outside beauty, as much as many of us around the world have.

I'm sorry, but it's NOT in Paris: it's in a city named Le Chesnay, miles away from Paris. I live in Paris and I can't even get there. And Le Chesnay is NOT adjacent to Paris either
