13:25 electric fireplaces starts - I want a minimal depth focal wall with a linear fireplace with tv over top for my family room. I'm thinking differently now from watching these videos, if you are looking for electric heat source as well, build out your "fake fireplace wall" with a baseboard heater at the bottom ( leave a gap under the fireplace wall for the baseboard heater and just have the electric fireplace for aesthetics). These electric fireplaces are just not there yet with heat technology. Plus I have no water source for a vapor install in this location. I'm in Canada, Arizona made products probably don't factor in use in -20°C climate. These fireplaces seem quite gimicy and just focus on the Walt Disney World looking flame colour, bed and background options, it's basically an expensive lamp. How about a horizontal water bubble wall feature with heat or something like a lava lamp instead of trying to make a "realistic- looking" electrical fireplace flame? The flames don't look that great even on the nice models. I will inset my television and use some led strips around the perimeter of it to play with some fun(ny) colour options at a much lower cost. Sorry guys, I am not sold on this technology, all of these manufacturers miss the mark on heat.
One cubic meter of NG contains ~10 kWh of energy. They operate at different efficiencies: natural vent (50 to 60%), direct vent (60 to 80%), ventless (near 100%, higher risk, may be illegal where you live). Electric is 100%. Gas will output far more than electric (~3x more, or ~0.6 to ~0.9 kwh), but can over heat the room. Electric may have lower operating cost due to the reduced output even at max.
Hello. I am just coming across this video. Thanks for the information. I am considering an electric fireplace for an outdoor fireplace because I don’t want to incur the the costs for install and permits for gas. What is the electric fireplace around the 20:01 mark that looked like flames between logs? Is it rated for outdoors?
The one at 20:01 is the Dimplex Revillusion. Before the is the Optimyst. We have a ton of top 5 electric fireplaces videos here is our newest one : th-cam.com/video/4R56cEETNag/w-d-xo.html
what I don't get is the point in having a cool wall for a gas fireplace. if its only for visual purposes then doesn't it make sense to just get an electrical one?
Thanks for the great info! Which electric fireplace are you showing on the lower left when you are at about 19 minutes 40 seconds? That one looks pretty real!
This could happen!! Some fireplaces have better glass than others. An electric fireplace might be a safe bet if you are worried about that. Thanks for watching!!

Anything to get a stupid narcissistic comment out there huh David? Wtf does it matter what he's wearing? He's a fucking expert in Denver...Denver, Colorado... they sell swim shorts in Denver... They also sell water skis and tanning lotion in Denver. Denver has a summertime... people build homes in the summer around Denver... does he need to have snowboots and a parka on? Not to mention he has 900000 fireplaces going in one room...im betting its 85 degrees in there and 15 outside... but what does it matter?
We make long and short form content. We also have a tiktok, follow us on there! Long format videos are so beneficial for the channel and give so much more information than the shorts.
Dude...Electric...Gas. we in Switzerland are burning WOOOOOD...MAYBE the Brits got gas or electric...and you Americans...vut for us in Europe...thats soooo weird

Which fireplace was shown at the 20:30 mark?
OPTI-V
I had mostly 2 gas fireplaces 23 years. With reno my den now has electric. My bedroom has gas with battery start, in case of a prolonged power outage.
Awesome
I was hoping to hear a comparison on the cost of operating them. Which one cost less to use, gas or electric?
it really varies by area and cost of your utilities, for example, NG just doubled in denver, and now is the same price as electric roughly

well the heat still comes out that vent so you still get more heat
this video helps a lot. so with the water vapor where is the water held and how does it get refilled?
It has tanks that you have to fill or run water line.

You did not compare energy costs . How do running costs compare ?
just really depends
Thank you
No problem! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Can you replace a ventless fireplace and install a vented one in its place?

Nice video, keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!

@@embersliving is that one of the options that comes with the bespoke line from Amantii?
He hasn’t mentioned that glass cover on a gas fireplace gets very hot. Not good if you have small children or pets.
This could happen!! Some fireplaces have better glass than others. An electric fireplace might be a safe bet if you are worried about that. Thanks for watching!!
Very informative. Thank you for posting.
I can make a fire colorful like a rainbow. Are you interested?

Who would install a heater, then have the heat sent outside because you don't want the heat inside!?
people that live in southern hotter states. These are very aesthetic and used for looks sometimes.
I have a wood burning fireplace and would not give it up for anything
nice
I went to another video and found out what the difference was in like 5 seconds lol
Thanks for watching!
Some people want a more detailed description. Not a tic tok crap AI short.

Learning about fireplaces from a guy in swim shorts. Well ok

@@runerider11 Thank you Rob! We make theses video at the end of summer to prepare people for burn season in fall and winter.
It’s hotter then hell. He’s incredibly helpful.
The guy with the mask is over acting .
The water vaping fire place looks too artificial.
Come on people,open your eyes.
haha
Gas or electric HEATERS you mean? Why bother.
Lots of people like the especially in warmer climates. Thanks for watching!
Your videos are informative but long. 25 to 30 mins is a bit much in today’s attention deficit, TicTok minded society.
