I would love to remove my gas fireplace and replace it with an electric fireplace, but the cost of running a dedicated circuit to the area makes it out of my reach. I still love to watch your videos, thank you!
Agree completely on the Inception. I'm a dealer in New Jersey, and when they sent out the first videos, we were really excited for it. When we got it in, not as much. From afar it's a great look, but when you get within 10 feet of it, totally loses the look. The Opti-V, we were at the National Convention maybe six or seven years ago, and they displayed a traditional one with a huge viewing area and said it was coming, but never heard a single thing about it after. Was disappointing. Enjoyed your video taking us through the years. Cheers.
sadly that's the future with states already banning natural gas on new builds. i'm all for going green but not at the expense of the green in my wallet.
Your videos are so helpful! How soon would you make a new top 5 video? I am having to buy soon within this next week and want to see all my options in-depth of the best ones!
Give us a call and we can discuss. I just got back from trade shows in Vegas. Nothing crazy cool coming out soon. So current line ups are a great choice
Awesome video. I saw some great-looking videos of the Inception, but couldn’t help wondering where the illusion worked well in person, where your eye will note the discrepancy in the perspective of the image on the screen more, rather than on video where depth cues are lost. Haven’t seen anyone mention that the illusion isn’t as powerful in person, so I really appreciate you noting it!
Here in Ireland I have no choice but to buy an electric fireplace. I'm renting from our council and nearly two years ago they removed my fireplace. I had central heating and I could burn fossil fuel like coal , turf or wood. But where my fireplace was is a flat blank wall. I wouldn't class those rectangle shaped things as a fireplace though. They're rectangular in the wrong direction. My fireplace was taller than it was wide. A square shape electric fire would be closer to what I'm looking for. I really like that fire you have under your TV though. But wouldn't it kind of make sense to have an LCD screen inside the fireplace with a video of fire playing on the screen. I don't need the fireplace to heat my room. I just want it to simulate the look of having a fireplace in my room.
I would think it gets cold out there! Some heat doesnt hurt. From all your previous comments it seems like youre looking for the most realistic electric fireplaces. I would suggest the net zero kal fire- th-cam.com/video/T1cTZ5M6HRM/w-d-xo.html and also this one I think you commented on as well - the inception - th-cam.com/video/nLTMo8bX1-o/w-d-xo.html
Great video as always! Also you really have come a long Way. You look great and healthy. My question would be: do you know what’s next? I really love the Dimplex Revillusion since it looks great OFF and ON and very real / traditional but it needs to be updated..
For hanging or C-wall installations, is the Optimyst the only choice or is there another company/model you would suggest? Love your videos and how you give honest reviews!
Fantastic video tons of information! I have a wood burning KIVA fireplace. I do want some heat but the fireplace does not have to heat the entire room and would like to have some kind of blower. Suggestions please…
I would replace you fireplace with angas insert personally. You can watch our new video here : th-cam.com/video/fp8SpuTHKDQ/w-d-xo.html. Also watch our new top 5 electric video when it comes out friday.
Personally, if I can’t have real fire (and in CA, with no wood-burning fireplaces allowed and gas prices skyrocketing, I can’t), I want a pretty, mesmerizing light show that doesn’t pretend to be fire. But then, I’m mostly looking for something to fill in for the real fireplace so that I can still have a gorgeous tile surround for my Craftsman style house, and the contractor’s trying to talk me out of just sticking a tv screen in there and playing a video when I want to see fire.
We have several different types of electrical firepalces that could fit in that spot. Its not real fire, but they do look good. I have a link here to Trevor's top 5 traditonal style electric fireplaces. - th-cam.com/video/Xx9NLgc-BKg/w-d-xo.html
I have an old wood fireplace in my home, but the chimney was removed from the attic to the roof. So I need an insert or a fireplace when looking to run propane heat in my house? P.S. you can still look down the chimney when in the attic.
The E-one is impressive and I'm very likely to get one. However, I feel like the framerate is too low (maybe 25 Hz, being that it's European) and the sound is embarrassingly bad. No reason that, for 8-10+k (for the bigger ones), they cannot have top notch sound that is totally realistic. Agree with you on radiant heat. I have cove heaters and radiant ceiling panels throughout my home to augment my minisplits and they're great. I wonder if it's a liability thing on having a burn hazard on an electric fireplace (like somehow it's different than a gas fireplace). Wonder if a heated glass is possible using embedded resistance wires (like heated windshields have)?
Hello tom! We have a few different options for wall mounted linear electric fireplaces. I would first off recomment taking looking at europen home units. European Homes tend to do the wall mounted units the most. There is one in our newest top 5 you can watch here - th-cam.com/video/GzroPwzFz-Y/w-d-xo.html
Why are the majority of electric Fireplaces in this weird Wide format, no real fire place has that shape, this is for me the issue with Electric Fireplaces, when you rule these out there is not much option left. The best looking one was blocked from view @16:30. Real fire format and has the feeling of depth.
there are not many right now that are rated for outdoor use, even tho its covered, the change in temperatures creates condensation, and will damage the wires
Hi! I saw an old video with the modern flames sedona traditional- has that been discontinued? Was there a problem with it or just making room for the orion?
Hey there can you please call out stor eand they will double check. I think theyre both still around, but its better to call our store and check with the staff. (303) 800-5659
Ok , so hear me out - why no one combined domestic heat and fake fire place . ?! You have your base board let’s say 72 inches , what do stoping us to run it true box with fake fire , and just a fan ? That’s way you can run just flames if you like and it will heat up when you kick your thermostat , no electricity and no gas ?! I do reserve the right to patent it first if you guys ever decide to produce one . This actually make perfect sense to me . Unless it’s already exist .
Electric cars, electric fireplaces, electric anything isn't the wave of the future. Like many here have mentioned, what happens when the power goes out? Back to the basics, log out fire. Same with cars and anything electric. Always best to have a house built on real things and not superficial luxuries.
Will Electric fireplaces finally take over gas? Not when the power goes out !! They are useless !! I have gas logs for exactly when the power goes out during the winter !!!!
electric fireplaces are glorified space heaters. they just dont output enough heat. fireplace is to heat, not for show. It's limited by power source. 110/120 just not enough. MAYBE if you have a 220/240 but most wont have that without additional labor and renovation to run a dedicated line. Honestly you are paying for looks and what looks better and what looks realistic with any electric fireplaces. Because the actual heating performance are all the same whether you get a no name amazon cheap one or those expensive ones because again its limited by the 110/120 power.
Your videos are informative, unfortunately, the service in your showroom is beyond subpar. Apparently being a female by myself didn't warrent talking too. I waited 15 minutes for help even though I was the only one in your store. When the fella at the counter finally decided to wander over and talked to me he was sarcastic and condescending. I walked out and went to another store to make my purchase.

I put in a Dimplex Revillusion in 2020. I’m still happy with it. I’d love a gas fireplace but it’s not feasible with the set up of our family room.
I honestly think it’s the most realistic fireplace, especially when it’s OFF. Everything else off looks like a screen…
@@ajlurgio87 everyone who comes in thinks it’s a real fireplace, especially with the doors on it. It’s heats nicely too.
@@annalincoln6287 good to know! I think we are getting this one!

Trevor, I haven't tune in for quite some time. You've gotten fit. Good job!
The main issue is COST TO RUN. Electricity as a heating unit has always been more expensive to run than gas or wood.
sadly that's the future with states already banning natural gas on new builds. i'm all for going green but not at the expense of the green in my wallet.
What is the cost to run an electric fireplace?
Depends on the area and what power you use
Not where I am. We’re moving to electric everything because gas has gotten ridiculous here in CA just in the last couple of years.
CA gas has gone crazy. We have solar so it makes sense to use electric for everything.

this is amazing. Thank you so much. I wish these were promoted more in fireplace shop
We have a pretty big showroom of them. They are pretty cool!
Thanks for showing us ❤

What about bio ethanol fireplaces
Neither one of them puts out anything for heat. Honestly the only thing they are good for is the aesthetics. I wouldn’t have one, completely useless!
For colder places totally understandable. We do have customers in the south that enjoy the electric fireplaces.
