I bought mine for 25$ from Hotoo VR 002 and speaking of screen resolution and comfort when wearing it is probably just about the same if not more comfortable. VRBox would be an even cheaper alternative for 8$ with about the same features just less comfortable. These mobile phones don't take much from each other except that Google Cardboard VRs and the like offer a "variable" screen res. which isnt really that good whereas Samsungs Gear VR atleast commits to a certain res if I remember correctly.
for some reason samsung gear vr latency is very low according to some review. Might be some VR headset have their own sensor which make them kinda expensive

The only diff is you're buying it direct from the manufacturer in China, instead of through a middleman. The Vr Kix is even posted from the manufacturer in China, they just throw a sticker on the front of the headset and on the retail box, and you pay an extra US$60+ for those stickers. Same warranty, same user guides, same everything. It's called 'drop shipping', companies do it all the time.

have you tried syncing it to a desktop game? and will it sync to something like Skyrim VR or other games such as Kingdom Come, Fallout, or Dying Light? I saw that note on the store promotional material and am looking for confirmation that it's not just synching the screen view to your headset and you still have to tilt/pan with the mouse. (I totally get that you'd still have to use keyboard commands and button presses on the mouse but would like to have the more immersive experience of tilting and panning with my head while seated even if the tech is still not to the stage where I'm actually running in place with fuzzy socks on a slippery surface quite yet.)

guys dont get this my bro bought it . i have a vr shinicon nd i could swear my vr which i payed 25 with remote 4r is better then his . its more premium looking nice strap nd fake leather cusioning plus a rocker that lets u control ur lenses nd focus them how u want it . also has a slot where u can charge ur phone or plug ur earphones to the phone . i feel like he was payed to advertise it making 89$ seem like its nothing pleassssse

you can play any google cardbord app on the gear vr. you just have to flip up the tab you plug your phone in and it fits right under it the tab.
