Hey guys I just made a video of the TOP 15 HARDEST SHRINES IN ZELDA BOTW!!! CHECK IT OUT EVERYTHING THAT WAS WRONG W THIS ONE IS NOW FIXED! th-cam.com/video/0Q2QjHzmW8g/w-d-xo.html
No it wasnt.. it was almost too perfect on my switch lite. When i player it on my switch tho yeah it seemed agrivating. Im almost wondering if the motion controls are better on the lite.
for major tests of strength I just rotated around the guardian and used an ancient weapons and master sword, made it run over ice, pillars, and metal walls, temporarily paralyzed it with shock arrows when it uses its laser, and circled around it when it uses its final lasers, while hitting it with ancient weapons and the master sword.
Funny story, my first playthrough I paraglided into landing on the elk (Not even knowing it was ridable, so I was stoked) After joyriding around, I took it over to talk to Cass and was in for yet another surprise LOL
Yeah, I hate those pro motion control gypsies, if you like it and can work with it then cool, but dont try to force it on people that don't like it and GET MAD WHEN YOU DONT USE IT!!!
You can smuggle weapons and shields into eventide Island. Just drop them on your raft before arriving at the island, and then they'll still be laying there after your gear is taken.
I beat it by tilting the platform, jumping on it, waiting for the ball to roll to the very edge, used statis, then hit it towards the hole. And it was still easier then using the motion controls...
@@guywithglasses5309 Literally just played it today as a newbie. And I had to use the upside down trick, I was too lazy to walk all that way to use stasis. I knew it had to be 1 of the worst.
I almost do it, but i do some dumb thing while fighting the hinox and just don't come to the island again, after that i remeber that i just need the ball, not kill the hinow
i thought the four-balls thunder storm shrine was the divine beast bird, i completed the other three divine beasts and still thought it was the hardest divine beast, than i found out it was a shrine, for some reason i could NOT find two of the balls
I spent like 30-40 minutes in it only to accidentally blast one of the last orbs into the water and I couldn’t get it back out so I had to completely start over
HOW TO ACTUALLY BEAT A MAJOR TEST: 1. Use Stasis+ 2. Get Guardian Gear from other Tests of Strength 3. Abuse the two in every way you can Edit: Shoot I forgot about this until I got the notification. It makes me happy that people are still talking about how to beat major test shrines in my 1 year old comment about a 4-ish year old game.
The thing with nearly every shrine is that once you know the puzzle, it becomes easy. This includes all the Tests of Strength. Tempered Power, the shrine where you play golf with sledgehammers, is unknowable. Every other shrine is easy on subsequent playthroughs unless it's early game Master Mode. Tempered Power is awful, and feels RNG based, but isn't. If I could replace a shrine, it'd be that one.
@@kirbyfazendoummoonwalk9214 it's quite easy to flurry rush the major tests because of how large the windows are and how long it takes to finish the attack. also qhen it shoots lasers you can parry it and it kills itself instantly
They are a good place to farm ancient weapons though. Then again, I ended up with an insanely powerfull axe which I don't wanna waste, so it's been collecting dust in my house for ages :P.
I enjoy the puzzles too, but the Guardians found inside combat shrines will reappear with every blood moon. I usually spend a good hour after each blood moon travelling to combat shrines for the weapons, a few spots I know of where good weapons spawn, as well as hunting Lynels for their weapons. Because weapons break I don't end up keeping them all, but I'll finish off with a lot of powerful weapons :)

For tests of strength, cook something for attack up, get ice arrows or ice weapons (the best option is a ice spear), when you go in, eat the attack up thing, than switch between hitting it with the ice weapon/arrows and your strongest weapon. I hope this helps anyone struggling!
For the sixth shrine, i didnt realize you could pick up the laser... I flew onto the pillars, fired arrows to change the height, went to the corner so that i was in front of the stairway, fired an arrow to change the height and get on the “stairs”, and before that i set up a circle bomb and a square bomb far enough apart to activate the switch and not blow up the other bomb... Also got up one “stair” by climbing a part of the wall that happened to have a square space for me to jump into, then hopped onto the next stair... then i used the two bombs to activate the switch and finished it. i made this so much harder than it actually was
I used some ridiculous combo of bombs and stasis to manage to get myself to the last step, then finally somehow glitched my way up to the monk. I, too, now feel like a dumbass...
When I was on my first run of the game blind, I wanted to try and just discover parts of the map and got curious if there were shrines on the islands, then I stumbled across Eventide island and was shocked to see my inventory cleared and everything was gone, it was a bit scary for me at first
I haven’t played that far myself (just got the game in 2021 & started playing it this spring) but I remember my brother playing it in 2017 and it scared the heck out of him 😂
Dude i did not know for ishto soh that you could use the laser. I did a combination of arrows, and the Two remote bombs with precise placement and timing to to get through haha.
I do know there are certain things wrong with this video but I don’t have the heart to take it down because it’s one of the first videos I ever made! I am currently in the process of writing a new Top 15 Hardest Shrines video that will hopefully please you all!! Thanks for all your support and criticism it really means a lot to me!!!
i'm trying to get back into this game and beat it in master mode. idc if the video says stuff wrong, because i'm only looking for inspiration anyways. most people wouldn't care anyway.
Pleasing everyone is impossible, it was an ok list, all 5 of the ones I did that you listed were easy though, Eventied was rough but I did it with 3 hearts and my winning run was 15 minutes(ish)
its fine number 3 i lowered one water tower and stasis the other to keep the water from coming out point is its true can`t make everyone happy and no matter what people will find different things hard or easy its the person not you so just do your thing :)
Regarding the Joolo Nah shrine: 1) You can't use protective armor for the Test of Will, but you CAN use fireproof potions. Same effect as Flamebreaker armor, without having to fart around with scarfing down food fast to beat heart loss. 2) For the torch lighting segment, turn the cube so that none of the torches are getting watered and then simply use fire arrows to light them.
@@darklytx Heck, you even have to explicitly use that in Vah Rudania to use a blue flame to light a torch to open a door to access one of the Sheikah Slate terminals, so it's not like the designers didn't consider the possibility of home-made fire arrows.
I mean Eventide was moderately difficult, the first time I played botw I had already beaten all the Divine beasts so I had use of the champions powers, Urbosa's fury was super handy for the hinox. My second time playing I got there much earlier and I only had Mipha's grace but I still got through easily enough by just sneaking around a lot. Eventide Island is easy if you have patience, is what I've discovered.
In the Joolo Nah shrine I found that if you are able to rotate the cube so that none of the torches touch water you can light them up by throwing fire arrows from the ground. For those who hate motion control shrines (such as myself), this trick saved quite a lot of time!
The Myahm Agana shrine is easy. You can cheese it by putting it at an angle where the ball falls into the last corridor to the exit, and from there you just have to quickly fling it.
Okay, fair enough, I will give you the Eventide Island challenge. That one's a pain. But you wanna know what's funny? You can throw weapons and drop them onto the island before you land. You can do the challenge with strong weapons. No Master Sword, but still, it makes it less stressful. The hardest part is keeping the balls on the island ON the island. As they cannot be picked up in water, and cannot be Magnesised.
Sam Adams What the hell made you decide to do that if you really didn’t understand Kass’ clue? I didn’t even realize you could mount deer until I did that Shrine.
Arlo it should've clued me in with all the deer around but I kept thinking 'that's too simple' and there was a special monster with a crown made of bone I had to kill. Rip
For part 2 of the Joola Nah shrine, I just threw two heavy weapons on the pressure plates. Edit: Also on the last part on this shrine, you could use stasis on one of the fountains.
its easier the further you are into the game and the more hearts/ hero abilities you have. I tried it at the beginning when I only had like 3 or 4 hearts and died loads and it was so frustrating because you were sent all the way to the beginning again but when I came back later it was pretty easy.
For eventide island, I killed the hinox using the magnet on the metal boxes and just whacking him with the boxes until he died. They do way more damage than you’d think lol
I forget the name, but the shrine with the swings (you have to use magnesia and stasis to get them to stay/swing) was hard just because of how often I was falling lmao.
With the Eventide Island Shrine, if you stand in the water and drop powerful weapons like the Royal Claymore without activating the challenge, you can take the items with you onto the island. This works with bows and items as well
I either bomb impact launched over these when possible, or cheesed them as hard as I could. btw, if anyone has trouble with the Joloo Nah shrine, you can just use a few fire arrows at the last part.
When I eventually got to the Shrine I had enough food to stand on that thing for hours, but I hadn't gone to Goron yet, which makes fireproof elixers difficult to get.
Theres a girl at the horse ranch outside the Volcano that sells them for 130ish I think. I bought a bunch from her before going up. (The second time. the first time I tried I burned to death)
3:16 you can also place your two bombs there (make sure you put them far apart from each other so they don't both blow up ) and on the first turn use the bow second a bomb and third a bomb again
5:38 ooooh thats how you’re supposed to do it, I never realized you could pick up the laser so I did it in a much more complicated way. I like my way more though. I first placed both remote bombs near the switch. I had to place them so they could both hit the switch, but far enough apart that one didn’t set off the other. This is set up for later. Then I made my way up to the shrine entrance and paraglided to the wall with those moving pillars. I then used arrows to hit the switch allowing me to traverse across to the other side of the room, near the staircase. I paraglided as high up as I could go on the staircase and was able to get up one more level using a platform on the side wall. Both remote bombs were enough to get me to the top from there. Kinda disappointed that wasn’t the real solution.
yeah i used the round and square ones jumped onto the pillars and actived the switch w arrows and then went in the other platform. Activated the two bombs to get the orb
I see that a lot of people hate combat shrines but they’re not actually that hard Simply just dodge most of the attacks, then furry rush until you get to the next stage From the next stage they will start to spin and cause an updraft while shooting a laser. There are two ways you can do this; first way is to wait until they stop and as they’re rising up just shoot them with any type of arrow (preferably bomb arrows) the second way is to use the updraft and shoot the eye as it spins Then you will get to the last stage. At that point the enemy will have low health. You can either parry the laser they shoot or dodge the lasers and attack them while they are charging up I know it sounds complicated but once you get used to it you’ll practically be able to fight them in your sleep
The Trick to the motion-controlled Puzzels is very easy. Hold the Console/Controller 100% Flat at the Moment you activate the puzzle, as it calibrates itself to this position as the zero reference. From there on the Puzzle just moves in the same plane as the Console. For me the mirro shaz shirne was definitely the hardest.
The constellation one totally stumped me. I was going nuts trying to look at the constellation in front of each row and trying to figure out some way to use the balls to re-create each constellation shape, one by one, to no avail obviously. I eventually had to look it up, and when I finally knew the solution i felt so dumb lol
Joolo Nah is actually pretty easy, if anyone needs any help you can light the torches with flame arrows! :) I saw all the awkward motion water stream things and decided there must be another way haha, I just tilted it slightly out of the water and lit the torches! :)
I got 119 Shrines at the moment and couldn't find the last one, I clicked on this video just out of curiosity and I realized MEZZA LO is the one I'm missing, omg. I love you! ♥

then i used the two bombs to activate the switch and finished it.
i made this so much harder than it actually was
doodlenoodle ‘ same :/
I used some ridiculous combo of bombs and stasis to manage to get myself to the last step, then finally somehow glitched my way up to the monk. I, too, now feel like a dumbass...
doodlenoodle ‘ yooooo I did the exact same thing too. It was absolute torture
But hey that proves you guys have good problem solving skills.
This was how I did it as well, I cant believe he made it look SO easy.
Am I the only one wondering how they named these shrines😂
-hey make a weird noise!
- Wababa poopoo
- this will be a shrine name
You are definitely not the only one!! 😅😅
Same! Names like Iwanna Co'oki shrine 🍪🤣
Yoolo Nah shrine be like: yooo what's that? Nah another shrine
Owa daim shrine:oh a damn shrine
When I was on my first run of the game blind, I wanted to try and just discover parts of the map and got curious if there were shrines on the islands, then I stumbled across Eventide island and was shocked to see my inventory cleared and everything was gone, it was a bit scary for me at first
Same but I loaded into a old save
I haven’t played that far myself (just got the game in 2021 & started playing it this spring) but I remember my brother playing it in 2017 and it scared the heck out of him 😂
Dude i did not know for ishto soh that you could use the laser. I did a combination of arrows, and the Two remote bombs with precise placement and timing to to get through haha.
I did the same thing haha
bruh
Me 2 lol
I tried that and couldn’t make it work. Finally figured out how to do it after like 20 mins lol.
Mario Sequeira dude I have a channel called the un’switch’able duo and I did game play of that shrine and I did the same as you
2 things that make major tests of strength extremely easy:
1) freezing the guardian then shocking it over and over
2) shock traps
I do know there are certain things wrong with this video but I don’t have the heart to take it down because it’s one of the first videos I ever made! I am currently in the process of writing a new Top 15 Hardest Shrines video that will hopefully please you all!! Thanks for all your support and criticism it really means a lot to me!!!
i'm trying to get back into this game and beat it in master mode. idc if the video says stuff wrong, because i'm only looking for inspiration anyways. most people wouldn't care anyway.
Copycat yay!
i would say the number one hardest trial is the Sword Monk Shrine (trial of sword)
It's like a 10 times harder Eventide Island.
Regarding the Joolo Nah shrine:
1) You can't use protective armor for the Test of Will, but you CAN use fireproof potions. Same effect as Flamebreaker armor, without having to fart around with scarfing down food fast to beat heart loss.
2) For the torch lighting segment, turn the cube so that none of the torches are getting watered and then simply use fire arrows to light them.
Straight up. People always make things harder than they have to be
Yeah and if you don't have fire arrows just make a campfire and use it to light arrows
@@darklytx Heck, you even have to explicitly use that in Vah Rudania to use a blue flame to light a torch to open a door to access one of the Sheikah Slate terminals, so it's not like the designers didn't consider the possibility of home-made fire arrows.
I never thought of this. You guys are genius I tell you.
I don’t see anyone talking about that damn blue flame challenge... even with a video it makes me wanna scream
This one almost broke me. I accidentally left the torch by the chest and it glitched out and couldn’t get it back.
just use arrows smh
8:17 hurts to see him waste the bananas
YESS 😭😭
are the bananas important?
Carmen ruiz astorga yea, for triple attack boost.
Why does everyone say eventide is hard it's easy even without the smuggle glitch
Ark Angel ii
Yeah as long as you don't wake up the hinox. But for me I had to restart because an orb got stuck OOB
Srry meant out of bounds(OOB)
Try it in master mode before you're halfway through the game
I mean Eventide was moderately difficult, the first time I played botw I had already beaten all the Divine beasts so I had use of the champions powers, Urbosa's fury was super handy for the hinox. My second time playing I got there much earlier and I only had Mipha's grace but I still got through easily enough by just sneaking around a lot. Eventide Island is easy if you have patience, is what I've discovered.
During the katosa aug shrine~
him-going around on the path
Me- wacking the ball hard enough for it to just fly across the missing platform
In the Hebra region
there is a shrine that's in a cave surrounded with freezing water
And crynosis doesn't help...
I think
I just brute forced my way in
I just swam in
I think thats the one where you're supposed to ride on logs from cut trees, its my favorite shrine so far
Michael Oko no i just swam through eating health and stamina recovery stuff
I just climbed the wall of the cave from outside, lined myself up with the platform, dropped from above it and paraglided to safety.
mosy of these are really easy. the only ones I really struggled on was the cube and the constellations
I cheated for those
@@BayOfWulf weak
Cryonis was my best friend on Eventide Island, for reasons we won’t discuss at length in this message.
AwayAWAY What if you’re cryonis can't be activated?
If you drop weapons on the island before you land, when you complete the shrine you will lose them
@@giogio873 dropping again before completing the challenge might work
if you think eventide is even NEAR difficult good luck with master mode master sword trials
The fact that I've finished all but two of these shrines makes me really happy
The constellations was one of my favorites. Just took really looking at the room
I rode the deer onto the platform without even realizing that I was supposed to do it lol
Rip
Same as i
Same as me
I spent hours looking for a stalhorse until it hit me that the deer's antlers were technically bone
The motion control shrines are LITERALLY impossible, I broke one of my joycons and I can't do motion control now
It is impossible without the joycons...I thought they were a pain having to switch from my Binbok's.
8:57 I used fire arrows on that part........
Me too🤣
Lel same
Same
In the shrine yeah me to XD FlIP MOTION CONTROL 🤣🤣
I got a normal arrow and lit it on fire then used that
Hard or not, a shrines a shrine! They're super fun!
LiteSinZ I agree! They’re one of the things that make this game fun!
Except for the apparatus shrines. The motion controls there are so ridiculous, it's not even funny!
@@thesupershinymegagengar2034 Idk why people have such a problem with this. I like those puzzles and they are easy.
@@silenal2885 The controls, dude. The controls.
@@thesupershinymegagengar2034 No I think they are fun😅
For part 2 of the Joola Nah shrine, I just threw two heavy weapons on the pressure plates. Edit: Also on the last part on this shrine, you could use stasis on one of the fountains.
Eventide was fun, and wasn't that challenging , I'm not bragging, it was so cool
its easier the further you are into the game and the more hearts/ hero abilities you have. I tried it at the beginning when I only had like 3 or 4 hearts and died loads and it was so frustrating because you were sent all the way to the beginning again but when I came back later it was pretty easy.
8:16 if you had extra elixirs you could drink them
For eventide island, I killed the hinox using the magnet on the metal boxes and just whacking him with the boxes until he died. They do way more damage than you’d think lol
I forget the name, but the shrine with the swings (you have to use magnesia and stasis to get them to stay/swing) was hard just because of how often I was falling lmao.
It caused me nightmares because of my joycon drifts
i just moved them gently out of the way
also satori mountain is the best mountain
How I solved the Mezza Lo shrine.
Bomb arrows
How I solved the Sho Dantu shrine.
Bomb arrows
When all else fails, KILL STUFF WITH FIREEEEE
8:11 Or for the Joloo Nah Shrine you could just get fire arrows and shoot those little pillars.🙂
For no.3 did anyone else just put it in a position so that you can light them with flame/bomb arrows?
Jack-n-Cheeks yep
In the hateno village one I tilted the platform used my paraglide to get on it and used stasis on the ball
Nathan Schira lmao same
I just flipped over the platform, but that one sounds easier lol
I threw my controller and I got it
Nathan Schira I did the same thing and it was easier then using the motion controls lol
Me windbombing through all of these: *nervous sweating*
This is so true
With the Eventide Island Shrine, if you stand in the water and drop powerful weapons like the Royal Claymore without activating the challenge, you can take the items with you onto the island. This works with bows and items as well
@Isreal Ranooca It doesn't matter because I broke all my weapons when I did what the comment said.
Plus noone mentions the great sword thats in the chest in the pond in the middle of the island. Just use magnesis to get it, its great to have.
lol the Chaas was one of the earliest shrines i completed. along with the korgu shrine. Some of the hardest, most memorable and fun moments
I either bomb impact launched over these when possible, or cheesed them as hard as I could. btw, if anyone has trouble with the Joloo Nah shrine, you can just use a few fire arrows at the last part.
Eventide was fun.
Test of Wood - I haven't even gone back for that one yet. :/
Literally just run through and dont even fight and it's a piece of cake
You can pretty much parasail straight to the shrine
Just use Revali's gale and skip the enemies
Anakin Skywalker I have the high ground!
Test of wood is super easy if you just keep running
getting to unlock the joolo nah shrine is easy you just drink a fireproof elixir you dont have to down your health that much don't overthink it
When I eventually got to the Shrine I had enough food to stand on that thing for hours, but I hadn't gone to Goron yet, which makes fireproof elixers difficult to get.
Theres a girl at the horse ranch outside the Volcano that sells them for 130ish I think. I bought a bunch from her before going up. (The second time. the first time I tried I burned to death)
150 rupees michael
Daniel Mauch Eh. Still relatively cheap for three elixirs. You only really need one though anyway.
applechiz98 I had the Daryl amiibo so I got the divine helm and they never got mad about that
I just realized I do shrines weird :/
For the Joolo Nah shrine you dont have to eat food just use a fire resistance potion
Kaito Shiro Dor the Joolo Nah I don't have motion control so it's hard AF. Still not beaten.
That does not work
I think they patched the fire resist potion. I used one and still got burned the hell up.
For the Heat Test minigame, you can use a heat resistant dish/elixir on the first part and a fireproof elixir on the 2nd part.
angelgirl2248 I honestly just stood on it and hoped I wouldn’t die
3:16 you can also place your two bombs there (make sure you put them far apart from each other so they don't both blow up ) and on the first turn use the bow second a bomb and third a bomb again
All these were super hard but for some reason ur number 2 was actually very easy and fun for me
True Baller F U C K. N O.
@@Yrojrund just G I T. G U D.
Chaas Qeta shrine was easy when I learned how to beat those guardian scouts
SAME!! Took me more than a hour
yeah i used the round and square ones jumped onto the pillars and actived the switch w arrows and then went in the other platform. Activated the two bombs to get the orb
I see that a lot of people hate combat shrines but they’re not actually that hard
Simply just dodge most of the attacks, then furry rush until you get to the next stage
From the next stage they will start to spin and cause an updraft while shooting a laser. There are two ways you can do this; first way is to wait until they stop and as they’re rising up just shoot them with any type of arrow (preferably bomb arrows) the second way is to use the updraft and shoot the eye as it spins
Then you will get to the last stage. At that point the enemy will have low health. You can either parry the laser they shoot or dodge the lasers and attack them while they are charging up
I know it sounds complicated but once you get used to it you’ll practically be able to fight them in your sleep
Unk0wn Mari you mean flurry rush right?
On eventide island I fought everything with a metal cube, worked surprisingly well
i just used urbosas fury
with the fire cube, all you need to do is angle it to where no torch is in the water, then use fire arrows to light em up
That method only works if you have the arrows lol
flamebreaker armor - just walk right through everything
Heres a tip on the part with light all the fire on the cube: just tilt it diagonally and use fire arrows trust me it count
He said over 900 korok seeds and over 120 shrines even though they are the actual amount, he also said parasail instead of paraglider.
You're right about the Korok seeds, but there are more than 120 shrines if you have the DLC
ATvW there is 121 shrines even without the dlc if we count the shrine of resurrection
D L C
lewis boyed it does not matter1 paraglider and parasail are the same thing
Oh i thought there were 999 korok seeds.. :/

Him: Zelda: Top 10 Hardest Shrines
Me: Laughs in Moon Jump
6:12 one of my first 20 was this one!
For the maze one i just shook my controller and the ball went in
The constellation one totally stumped me. I was going nuts trying to look at the constellation in front of each row and trying to figure out some way to use the balls to re-create each constellation shape, one by one, to no avail obviously. I eventually had to look it up, and when I finally knew the solution i felt so dumb lol
Great Video! You are honestly the most underappreciated youtubers I've ever seen, so keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!!!
I didn't know I could just steal the orb of of the hinox
Joolo Nah is actually pretty easy, if anyone needs any help you can light the torches with flame arrows! :) I saw all the awkward motion water stream things and decided there must be another way haha, I just tilted it slightly out of the water and lit the torches! :)
Fun fact: I just landed on the Chass Qeta shrine a few moments ago.
the hard part is finding the last remaining ones
I got 119 Shrines at the moment and couldn't find the last one, I clicked on this video just out of curiosity and I realized MEZZA LO is the one I'm missing, omg. I love you! ♥
The blood moon:
Save every Zelda day and sleep till morning. If a blood moon does occur, load from the previous save and go to Washa’s Bluff.
I had the travel medallion, so when it was about to happen i just fast traveled lmao
Actually, the motion controls are a gyro. The tricky part is doing it handheld.
The 7th shire: I’m very hard and frustrating, you will have hard time.
Me: laughs in TH-cam
I did #2 first try. I didn't want to pull my hair out at all.
oh hey it's you
GD supergodlike oh hey it's you
CrystalFox13 ikr, it's the constellation one that pissed me off
Well good for you, you don't have PTSD from the horrid twilight princess motion control puzzle. I cheesed this puzzle because of that
