    Louise, I just want to personally thank you for all that you do for so many of us amateur artists. Your giving spirit, no nonsense explanations and thorough tutorials are such a joy I look forward to! You could go about your life making beautiful art, but you’ve chosen to mentor thousands of us, taking us with you on your journey through learning. I can’t even imagine the time it must take out of your days to edit all of this content for us all. I personally wouldn’t know where to begin. I’m so very thankful for you in so many ways. Through your many videos you’ve taught me so much, have become a mentor and TH-cam friend. I just wanted you to know how important you are to me, and I want you to know your giving spirit is so uplifting and knowledgeable. While this technique seems overwhelmingly difficult, I’m excited to learn it after the first of the year. Perhaps someday I can be half as good as you. Much gratitude, Louise. Your talent and willingness to share shows what amazing character you have. Thank you. I hope someday I can learn your techniques along side of you. God bless you for teaching us! 🙏

      Thank you, Susan, I really appreciate your comment and support. This video was a real challenge and it took me probably a total of six hours just in editing and splicing, combining everything together, there is no doubt I do invest a lot of my personal time into this, editing is far longer than creating! I have deliberately chosen to not do a Patreon account or a membership account like many others do just because I don’t feel right putting people in that position, my attitude is if you wanna watch and learn, then watch and learn. I don’t wanna put pressure on anyone. Also, I figure I can show you and everyone everything but at the end of the day each individual has to go out and try for themselves. My fun comes when somebody lets me know what they’ve done and I see that impact, THAT is priceless.

      Wowzer Bonnie, OMG thank you so much I truly appreciate that, that is way generous!😘 I honestly never expect any donations, just a comment, so I’m blown away right now!!! I’m sure you do fine, just be patient with yourself and probably start with something simple like a coaster where it’s flat and much easier to maneuver. Working on an ornament takes the bloom to the next level as you are involving multiple techniques and skill sets to get there. So start small, start easy with a few colors and see how everything goes. Let me know how it works out for you and once again thank you so very much.😘😘😘

    Louise, I am so enamored with your process of "teaching" while you are sometimes are still learning more as you create. Giving us the benefit of everything from mistakes, to perfection, of how to take on something foreign, that will turn into something beautifully done 😉 This video shows your patience and ability to change while in the process of "doing". Your tips come as you are showing us, that you are still "learning" with each new challenge you take on. You are by far, my "favorite" artist, and "teacher", in my journey to try to become a good acrylic artist. Hopefully the day will come when I can incorporate your teachings and ideas, into my own works of art. Thank you for your time, and knowledge, and the gift of artistry...you pass on to anyone who wants to learn. And, for not asking for more "monetary" additions of your shared talents. I appreciate you so much, my friend...Take care, be safe..see ya again, soon I hope 🤗☺❤ Many blessings to you and yours, this "Thanksgiving Holiday"....❣

    Those ornaments are really neat! They will make a Christmas Tree stand out like a jewel. I remember when you could buy some jewel like glass Christmas ornaments. Now it's like everything is made out of plastic.
    The end of the season come and gone, and I already miss the work. I was helping out at another park down the trail from mine. And spotted a black and a white bunny rabbits. Someone was a bit careless with there cage door.

      Thank you Ozwald, and the funny thing is, I wasn’t planning on making a single ornament this year until somebody asked me in September. Now I think I’m on my 10th or 12th order, I’ve lost track. But they are fun to make and people love them, and hopefully it will certainly make peoples holiday season nice with something truly unique.
      I didn’t realize that your work was seasonal. I guess I should have especially with winter coming. We had our first snow today actually I woke up and it was snow covered. It lasted a few hours until the sun melted it, but it was a nice taste. Hopefully have a little bit of a winter season this year. Although we’re going to be in California over the holidays since our daughter is having our first grandchild, probably just before Christmas! It should be an exciting time! They’re naming their daughter, Zelda, and I just think of warrior when I hear that name and hopefully she will be quite the warrior!

    Which videos show the varnish step? I do not remember seeing that step. Thank you for all your instructions.

      Hi Laura, any of the videos I put out this year so far for ornaments has the varnishing in it, that’s why I didn’t do it in this one. But here’s a link to one of them, but you can check out all of them. th-cam.com/video/W794sPwCK-E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=L_0ZU3K1ZlXBTebh

    Phenomenal, so beautiful! How long did it take you to to master this technique?

    • @LouiseMcKayArt
      @LouiseMcKayArt  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Thank you😘…mastery? That’s hard to say because really it starts with understanding the bloom which I’ve done now for about 2 1/2 years. I just started this technique last holiday season for the first time, and I did this technique maybe 130 times now, exactly this way with this transfer of the bloom. I did once I learned the bloom and started applying it to this technique probably 30 applications like this before I figured out the most efficient way to do it.

    Question: First, thank you so much for the detailed instructions. I have watched this video (and many others) four times and studied your every move. I was wondering the size of your pallet knife you use to transfer the bloom and maybe the brand. Also, about what diameter is the bloom when it's on your silicone mat before you transfer it? Thank you again so so much for all the instructions!!!

      @@4kimtaylor hi Kim, 😘thank you good questions. The pallet knife is just a 6 inch standard putty knife you would get from the hardware store Lowe’s or Home Depot or Ace or anywhere. I don’t know the brand that stickers long gone. I don’t think that matters. As far as the diameter of my bloom? I don’t know I’ve never measured it but it’s small enough to fit on the pallet knife so use that as a reference, because I honestly don’t know.😅

    So so pretty😊 is it possible to do a bloom like this without using house paint or does the house paint consistency lend itself specifically to this? I really enjoy trying functional art but don’t have the money to buy all the bloom ingredients!

    • @LouiseMcKayArt
      @LouiseMcKayArt  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hi Jane, you probably can use regular acrylic paint although it’s just a lot more expensive …gallon for gallon. And make sure that the consistency is good. Should be thicker than your colors. Give it a shot see what happens. But most of the house paints are less expensive in the long run.
