Louise, I just want to personally thank you for all that you do for so many of us amateur artists. Your giving spirit, no nonsense explanations and thorough tutorials are such a joy I look forward to! You could go about your life making beautiful art, but you’ve chosen to mentor thousands of us, taking us with you on your journey through learning. I can’t even imagine the time it must take out of your days to edit all of this content for us all. I personally wouldn’t know where to begin. I’m so very thankful for you in so many ways. Through your many videos you’ve taught me so much, have become a mentor and TH-cam friend. I just wanted you to know how important you are to me, and I want you to know your giving spirit is so uplifting and knowledgeable. While this technique seems overwhelmingly difficult, I’m excited to learn it after the first of the year. Perhaps someday I can be half as good as you. Much gratitude, Louise. Your talent and willingness to share shows what amazing character you have. Thank you. I hope someday I can learn your techniques along side of you. God bless you for teaching us! 🙏
Thank you, Susan, I really appreciate your comment and support. This video was a real challenge and it took me probably a total of six hours just in editing and splicing, combining everything together, there is no doubt I do invest a lot of my personal time into this, editing is far longer than creating! I have deliberately chosen to not do a Patreon account or a membership account like many others do just because I don’t feel right putting people in that position, my attitude is if you wanna watch and learn, then watch and learn. I don’t wanna put pressure on anyone. Also, I figure I can show you and everyone everything but at the end of the day each individual has to go out and try for themselves. My fun comes when somebody lets me know what they’ve done and I see that impact, THAT is priceless.
Thank you fur finding me Autumn and welcome!! I try to keep all of my tutorials is informative and worth your while to watch. I also work a lot in functional art, so please check out my playlists for various items such as coasters, clocks, charcuterie, boards, Lazy Susan’s and I even have an ornament playlist. Fantastic Louise Aunt. Glad to see your Ornament. Lovely pro tips and very helpful for beginners. I am waiting to see ur birthday video for Donna. Please upload as soon as possible my dear.
Thank you so much, sweet niece Aishu😘💙♥️ everything is done. I’m just finishing up the editing portion. I should have it sometime in the next six hours.😀
Thank you for all of the encouragement your video provides! So many nuggets of wisdom in one place is both a little mind boggling and greatly appreciated. The detailed demonstration of working the palette knife with the different angles and where to begin the transfer, etc. was so, so useful. Gratitude for taking the time to put this together and post it with such generosity of spirit.
Thanks again Paws, 😘yeah, this one took me about 5 hours in editing! Glad some of what I offered in here is helpful to you, that’s always my intention.💙♥️

Wowzer Bonnie, OMG thank you so much I truly appreciate that, that is way generous!😘 I honestly never expect any donations, just a comment, so I’m blown away right now!!! I’m sure you do fine, just be patient with yourself and probably start with something simple like a coaster where it’s flat and much easier to maneuver. Working on an ornament takes the bloom to the next level as you are involving multiple techniques and skill sets to get there. So start small, start easy with a few colors and see how everything goes. Let me know how it works out for you and once again thank you so very much.😘😘😘

Those ornaments are really neat! They will make a Christmas Tree stand out like a jewel. I remember when you could buy some jewel like glass Christmas ornaments. Now it's like everything is made out of plastic. The end of the season come and gone, and I already miss the work. I was helping out at another park down the trail from mine. And spotted a black and a white bunny rabbits. Someone was a bit careless with there cage door.

Thank you, Judi. I’m sorry you have difficulty but honestly, it starts by just going small maybe by learning on a coaster and getting the technique down. Once you have that down and the recipe that’s working, the other stuff falls into place.💙
Go for it, Brenda, it might take a couple tries to get the transferred down, but once you figure out the placement in the pace in which you transfer it, you’ll be golden💙😘

I started about 3 1/2 years ago and if I can do it, anyone can!! a little advice, when you do get started, start with something simple like coasters, get comfortable with that and then branch out from there.💙 have a great weekend😘
@@LouiseMcKayArt thankyou sweet heart hope you have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to your next video. I've done a few market stalls which I always do well at and would love to add this art to my tables
Thank you so much. As usual your explanations are excellent. I have spent lots of time viewing your instructional videos. I am still struggling with developing large cells in my bloom, some little ones which are encouraging. I am practicing on tiles that I can reuse. Love these ornaments.
Hi Laura, any of the videos I put out this year so far for ornaments has the varnishing in it, that’s why I didn’t do it in this one. But here’s a link to one of them, but you can check out all of them. th-cam.com/video/W794sPwCK-E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=L_0ZU3K1ZlXBTebh
Thank you😘…mastery? That’s hard to say because really it starts with understanding the bloom which I’ve done now for about 2 1/2 years. I just started this technique last holiday season for the first time, and I did this technique maybe 130 times now, exactly this way with this transfer of the bloom. I did once I learned the bloom and started applying it to this technique probably 30 applications like this before I figured out the most efficient way to do it.
Question: First, thank you so much for the detailed instructions. I have watched this video (and many others) four times and studied your every move. I was wondering the size of your pallet knife you use to transfer the bloom and maybe the brand. Also, about what diameter is the bloom when it's on your silicone mat before you transfer it? Thank you again so so much for all the instructions!!!
@@4kimtaylor hi Kim, 😘thank you good questions. The pallet knife is just a 6 inch standard putty knife you would get from the hardware store Lowe’s or Home Depot or Ace or anywhere. I don’t know the brand that stickers long gone. I don’t think that matters. As far as the diameter of my bloom? I don’t know I’ve never measured it but it’s small enough to fit on the pallet knife so use that as a reference, because I honestly don’t know.😅
So so pretty😊 is it possible to do a bloom like this without using house paint or does the house paint consistency lend itself specifically to this? I really enjoy trying functional art but don’t have the money to buy all the bloom ingredients!
Hi Jane, you probably can use regular acrylic paint although it’s just a lot more expensive …gallon for gallon. And make sure that the consistency is good. Should be thicker than your colors. Give it a shot see what happens. But most of the house paints are less expensive in the long run.

Thank you 🧡🧡🧡
Which videos show the varnish step? I do not remember seeing that step. Thank you for all your instructions.
Thank you ❤
Phenomenal, so beautiful! How long did it take you to to master this technique?
Thank you😘…mastery? That’s hard to say because really it starts with understanding the bloom which I’ve done now for about 2 1/2 years. I just started this technique last holiday season for the first time, and I did this technique maybe 130 times now, exactly this way with this transfer of the bloom. I did once I learned the bloom and started applying it to this technique probably 30 applications like this before I figured out the most efficient way to do it.
How do you keep the coaster on the spinner?
Hi Tawny, I find this works well, th-cam.com/video/5njiBXOop6U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1zO20IA3vySPzGNl
What size pallet knife is that? and where did you get it? beautiful work.
6”, hardware store thanks
I don’t know I’ve never measured it but it’s small enough to fit on the pallet knife so use that as a reference, because I honestly don’t know.😅
@ thank you! That's very helpful! Have a happy Thanksgiving!
How do you mount them for drying once the dripping has stopped??
Take another look at the video, I show this exactly later in the video tutorial
These are stunning Louise❤. What is the board that you have under the silicone mat?
Thank you Kathy, just a simple mdf board nothing special
Countless pro tips? More like "Cool red ornaments, with style that drips!" 💧
