Maybe you are the only one who can literally explain to me, in detail, what the Hardware Acceleration checkmark is doing or changing. I am talking about the Source Option in OBS when you put a NDI Source in. And yeah, besides the general explanations, what exactly is the difference in detail. . Which leads directly to my second question, when you have a top notch CPU for 800Dollars in your Streaming PC, using NDI to capture the 240fps Gameplay from the gaming PC which sends the Footage over in 720p 120fps and you encode it exactly with this and send it out,....does it make any difference if the GPU used in the Streaming PC is 10years old ? . Would there be any benefit in using a newer Card, just for the Rendering done locally. I am not talking about Nvenc or HEVC...just the plain processing of the 240fps/120fps through the OBS Instances with NDI. And thats why i am asking what exactly Hardware Acceleration means in the NDI Source Options. . I know, that GPUs have "different" kinds of 2D and Vector Codecs, well a 10y old GPU has "something" else than a new GPU and i just need to know if it will make a difference at all if i change the super old AMD GPU in the Streaming PC and if Hardware Acceleration would also make any change (because maybe thats the option that is activating this GPU Inside Process ?" idk, i cant test it because i dont have a newer GPU available...but, you, maybe YOU have the knowledge. the OBS Plugin from Polakis ( i think thats his name ) is also superold, not updated anymore, its using NDI 4.5.1 or 3 or something. Is there any way to "upgrade" the OBS Plugin DLLs manually to get the NDI 5 Plugin to work with the OBS NDI internally ? And moreover, besides HX Features, is there a significant benefit of using NDI 5 in OBS Instances over the older one ? . I need two OBS Instances, one on the streaming pc and one on the gaming pc for two main reasons. First are the 120fps Settings ( there is no option through the NDI Tools to set 120fps, only 60max or Screen Display Rate, and more important, i am managing all my scenes on the gaming pc and send audio through with NDI, no hassle with Mixers or Voicemeter or whatever. Just one thick NDI Output and only the encoding process is going on at the streaming pc. But yeah, maybe you know or have a link to make that possible. Sorry that i bombard you with my individual questions, but you are a god compared to me when it comes to NDI and OBS :D
I’m trying to bring in a guest with VDONinja and with NDI send my audio output to Ninja for the guest to hear all videos and output of what I play on OBS minus just the guest audio so he doesn’t hear himself back. Hence Mix Minus. For the life of me I have yet to figure out away other than sending just my mic but then he does not here the videos. Is there a way to send Mix minus out OBS eliminating the guest audio back to them??? Everyone has videos but no Mix Minus videos.
Is it just me or has Skype removed the NDI:Local from NDI sources? I can still get remote callers, but not my own camera. And my own camera, of course, is used by skype so the others can see me.
