    How wonderful! One of the best explanations I have seen of complex material. I’m watching this for the first time 2 years after it was created and it does not seem even slightly dated. The fundamentals are covered so well that subtle changes and updates to operating systems and software seem irrelevant. Thanks for the great effort you out into this, Catherine!

    Thank you so much for explaining this - you are so clear and concise with great (and very helpful) visuals! All the gamer dudes were frustrating the crap out of me. This all still gives me a headache and seems super convoluted, but it also seems like a newish thing responding to emerging needs. I noticed the asterisk is now missing from the NDI|HX Driver under the downloads for the Mac. Does that mean that it is now included when you do the initial download and do not have to complete a second download for the drivers? If so, you may want to write some text on that part of your video noting the change to eliminate confusion. Thanks for the great video.

    Hello Cat, great video and presentation! Hoping to get your insight on an issue with synching video and audio. I am using vMix to livestream to TH-cam our church service. The video input comes via NDI from a PTZCam, audio comes from a sound deck. Livestream is perfect. The issue occurs when bringing video and audio to another room in our building. We use a beefed up gaming laptop, plugged to the network with network cable for stability. We run NDI software to bring video and audio to another room in our building, video and audio is set to MSI vMix output in NDI software. Sound comes ahead of video by about 100 miliseconds. It's very noticeable. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    I'm watching this video for the second time . . . most NDI videos are just confusing but Cat did a really nice job of dumbing it all down. Now to watch the video for the second time and give all those things a try. I still don't like the idea of using a computer for everything . . . ingest, encoding, live-projecting and streaming . . . seems like a regular switcher would be a better fit BUT I do see that NDI could be a solution for remote streaming when live projection isn't necessary. Cat - do you have a company that can be called for help or even a brainstorming session on the best use of NDI for a particular install?

      Since recording this video, NewTek did update to NDI 5, which might be the difference. Also, if you are on an M1 Mac, this might also be part of the issue. I had some issues setting up NDI on my new M1 MacBook Pro and haven't had time to troubleshoot it yet.

    • @restaurantprofits
      @restaurantprofits 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CatMulvihill Hi Cat, thank you for the response. I think the drivers now install automatically so no need for me to find and install that file. The other things that is different is that all 6 programs download and install too. I've not been able to solve the issue (of finding the laptop via the ethernet cable and switch) yet so have been playing around with using a USB cable between my iMac and laptop and using a 2nd screen. It's a bit confusing as I am in the early stages (steep learning curve) with Ecamm too - But I am under no deadline pressure to produce so am working my way through it. Thank you again for the answer and thanks for the great videos too.

    Hi Cat, thought i'd ask here. Windows PC looking to use NDI to stream an iPad to OBS on the PC. The issue I have is : The iPAD is not available in the list of NDI sources. YET :
    [1] My PC is available as an NDI source - so appears NDI was installed correctly and
    [2] the iPAD is discoverable within NDI Studio Monitor (on the same PC as OBS) - which would indicate there are no firewall issues broadcasting from iPAD to the PC in question.
    The issue is simply that my iPad is not in the dropdown of NDI sources in OBS. Been searching on this for hours and hours. Cannot seem to find any similar fix or problem resolution.
    Any thoughts?
