Alen AxP good thing you saved the budgie from a dangerous place outside it could've gotten ran over and now it has a nice and safe home :) and it is beautiful!
I have 4 budgies - one found on the street in London and 3 adopted from the RSPCA. 2 boys, two girls. love them to bits. Good luck with your sweet little cuties.
My son found a parakeet on the streets of Barcelona a couple years ago. The bird was kind of a mess under a bush. His eyes were infected, one nostril injured, and his beak was pushed a bit to one side. My son was on lunch, so he picked him up and took him to a nearby vet. To make a long story short, Lindy is with me now. Nostril will always be scarred and his beak needs a biweekly trim --- because of being crooked. But he's a happy guy who always brightens my day!
What a blessing; you chose to use quiet, unobtrusive music ( instead of the average LOUD rock garbage most tubers can't seem to resist). It lets us focus on the birds which is what you want and what I want. Thank you for your music choice.
Coffee Beans okay i know one of situation someone abandoned budgies but 99% is just budgies escaping.. parrots are precious now, you can sell your parrot and get cash, different things about dogs and cat, they are so popular that they get abandoned really often.
I also found a budgie on the street. A girl from over the road had knocked on our door with a budgie in her hands, she asked if it was ours and we said no. We were very confused so we went out side with a small butterfly net, then we saw a bush rustling and we heard a budgie chirp so we looked in the bush and the same budgie what the girl found was in the bush. It wasn't tamed so gently picked him up in the net; he not have a ring or anything in sign of an owner. And we had 2 budgies but one died so this budgie would be his little friend. We let the area know that we found a loose budgie and after a few days nobody had come to get him so we kept him and named him Buster. ....This was a long time ago so recently "Buster" died... And that's my budgie story.
Awwww i know whats it like loosing a budgie you feel like you could have done something or question yourself whether your bird was happy enough or like of your a good owner i lost my bird once her name was rosianna and one day she escaped i had her for a few years i was crying and wondering why she left and i was wondering if she was alive but the feeling is almost the same compared to the feeling of your bird dying well thats just my opinion

Hi!! I have lots of info about budgies! First off its better to feed them a pelleted diet and just seeds as a snack because seeds can give them fatty liver disease. Its also good to sprout seeds for them a it has more nutrients. Also daily vegetables like kale or broccoli would be great for them as well as fruits! (Avocados are poisonous to them so dont give them that!! ☠️) Give them a cuttlebone and or crushed egg shells or cooked eggs for the protein and calcium! :3 for cages they need variety of perches so that their feet can exercise on the different sized/ shaped surfaces. Also let it out to fly in your house and get plenty of exercise! Buy your budgie a variety of toys as well! They need lots of stimulation! :3
Birb Master Same! I have a budgie, and his name is Angry! Get it? He's a bird, and his name is Angry. Angry bird! It was my idea to give him that name when we got him! Hehe! 😁
I lost my budgie when i was holding him, someone opened the door and he flew into the trees. idk where because i live on a mountain. :C pray for me please.
This is how I ended up with a second budgie. Someone found him on the ground on a super hot day, and took him to a pet grooming place, and they offered him to me for free. For the first couple of weeks, there was a little bit of squabbling as they determined who was going to be Alpha bird, but now they are best friends and groom eachother and play really cute. Since you do have the second cage, I would keep the new bird there, next to the big cage, and once they have had time to get to know eachother, Cookie might be less scared. Very pretty budgie!
I love this video, but I think you should’ve put the budgie into Quarantine, instead of putting it straight into the cage. Just to make sure it didn’t have a disease. Love the video tho
thank you so much for rescuing this little guy! You are truly the best Parakeet Budgie channel out there. I recently adopted a Parakeet Budgie from the wild. MY dad was working outside and a Budgie flew straight into his hands. And thats very rare to happen! Its was cold outside so we took the Budgie in. He had a little wristband with the owners initials, but not the phone number. We (me and my family) decided to keep him because there was no way he could survive in that cold weather. Now he has been with us for 2 days and i told my mom that id like to call/name the Budgie Rio. Now, Rio is shortly opening up to us and being less afraid of the environment. We have heard Rio chirp a couple of times. It made me really happy that Rio survived. Please, always ADOPT. don't shop. So many Budgies need homes. If you find a Budgie lonely on a street, please take it in. Choose Adoption over shopping. Thank you for reading this and have a good rest of your day/night. :D
I had a budgie that was white that looked exactly like her..I lost her at age 19 on a winter morning..the window was opened and my baby was gone! She couldn't fly ever sense she was a baby I got her from petsmart and I miss her terribly..I think that she has her and i want her back💔😭 it been years sense I've seen her snd I looked everywhere! The fact that this might be my budgie my sweet baby and that the new owner suddenly claimed her and called her a new name makes me heartbroken
Moray McCulloch I believe you can get one! After my pineapple conure died I waited a year thinking it would never happen but then I get offered a free cockatiel form a rescue! Tomorrow I’m picking him up!
THIS IS MY BIRD! HER NAME IS ANGEL WHEN I GOT HER SHE WAS DISABLED AND COULDN'T FLY BUT THIS ONE MORNING SHE WAS NOT IN HER CAGE AND THE WINDOW WAS WIDE OPENED SHE WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM ME AND KIDNAPPED I WANT MY BABY BACK!
I found both of my budgies on the street, one of them a year ago and another just two days ago. He was so weak and could barely fly, he’s doing way better now that I adopted him. 💕💕
And don't "set birds free" unless they are wild and being nursed back to health. "Freeing" a domesticated is a death sentence. They were not raised out there.~
Making sure that my sentences line up has always been compulsion of mine. I usually let it go, if I'm making a paragraph. *But for short posts like this, well.* As for the squiggly line, it's just a space taker. XD Nothing more, nothing less.
Reminds me of the baby lovebird that flew into my home randomly one morning. I posted on a few sites in case it was anyone's and they wanted him home. Didn't hear back from anyone, so I kept him. He's been doing great and we named him Kiwi, he's a super friendly bird and I'm glad we kept him. He seems really happy in our home💕
i know a person with a similar story: one day he was just mindinh his business and sudenly he hears in a very high ptich voice from the window in his room "chichi wants millet" and he sees a yellow budgie he quickly closes the window and gives the budgie millet (he had some left around since his canary died about a month before that happend sad stuff i know) and opened the door of the cage and he kept the budgie for a few years afterwards
@@ShallowLilyWC yeah but some people might not know and criticise so i think it's better if you delete that, a lot of people find it being rude, even though i am muslim
I have a situation similar to yours. I originally started with two males, then a friend who is a rescuer of injured wild birds asked me to take in another male that was found flying around a school for a few days until he was captured. All three get along fine. Each one has its own personality.
OMG there's an anime about budgies and the episode I saw was a lot like this. I really hope you'll be able to find his(?) family or rescue group that could help out.
I lost my favorite budgie years ago, he flew out the door when I opened it on accident. He was very good with people and friendly plus it was the summer so I'm hoping that somebody found him
I almost lost my budgie and my cockatiel Cuz I left the door open. They flew out of the door and I ran after them before they flew towards the cats. My female budgie mango died because she flew towards those cats and those cat killed her and didn't even eat her and just threw her away😭😭😭
That happened to me but that happened to me but like he wanted to die wait it was girl and I was really sad so yeah and he didn't really like she didn't really like me so I was pretty sad and I had a green one that was alone for about a month and then we bought another soft one that she want on your hand she was already trained and she's so cute right now and her name is marshmallow
If I can offer some constructive criticism next time you get a budgie that isn't from a breeder it's probably not a good idea to put it in with other birds until you get it tested for things like beak and feather disease and other things. Even if they don't show symptoms they can still pass it to other birds
Bear DEC i had my lovebirds in different cages at first to make sure they wouldnt be aggresive right in the beginning then i changed the whole cage and put them together that should work :)
I found a budgie in my backyard flying from a tree to my chicken coop, my dad, my brother and I caught it ( i live in CT so the budgie would most likely die when it turned winter) and I am now upgrading my cage for the new budgie.
Eric Loja Make sure to feed them a diet of mainly pellets, fruits, veggies, sprouts, cooked eggs and legumes/ rice, and crushed egg shells! :3 Only give seeds as a treat cuz it can cause fatty liver disease. Also buy plenty of different sized and shaped perches so they can exercise their feet! And also let them outside in the house to fly for exercise! :D
I went on holidays and left my budgie with my dad's friend and he forgot to close the window and my Bird flew out 😢😢😢later I found out and cried for ages 😭😭😭
Poor little budgie...One of my conures was abandoned by her last owner so seeing this made me cry. I don't understand why someone would abandon an amazing, majestic creature like that.
You should really considering getting a bigger cage if you're going to keep him! It's not very fair to keep all three in a small cage. But if you are going to keep him, I think Cloud or Sky is a good name, he has a gorgeous light colour :)
Cervid Skull Well, it's not too bad for two birds..but three is slightly a stretch. There isn't a whole lot of room for them to go places in there anymore. He doesn't have to get a huge €500 cage, it's easy to get a large cage for under €200 (I have one myself)
Cervid Skull Of course it doesn't need to perfect. But although it is debated, the smallest cage recommended for three budgies is 33 x 20 x 36 (something like that) and he could probably go with a 30 x 20 cage since the birds are out most of the day (I assume). I'm just saying you can get large cages for very cheap, and if he wants the best for his birds he should really consider a larger cage so they can fly or hop around without touching each other.
i'd probably say 3 maximum, it's not perfect but it will do. [maybe untill they get a new cage] I do agree bigger is always better. I always want my birds to have the biggest
Cervid Skull Yeah, it's fine as a temporary while he maybe looks for a larger cage. I agree with that since much! I've always wanted the biggest I can get for my birds. I'd love an aviary one day :)
Male budgies are generally considered "nicer" or tamer than females and will likely get along fine. Also, I hate to nag, but I really hope you quarantined that new bird before exposing him to your little flock! Anyway, adorable birbs! :)
I want to second this. You should always quarantine a new bird away from your flock for at least 30 days to make sure they don't pass along any communicable diseases. And you shouldn't just throw it in a cage with other birds. Keep their cages near each other so that they get accustomed to each other before you try to introduce them. Let them play together outside of their cages so they can escape from each other if they want to. If they get on well outside of the cage, then you can start letting them spend time together in the cage.
Some Bumbling Idiots That's what I was thinking, I was really surprised when they just put the new budgie in with their other birds, let alone even putting its cage next to the cage they already had with their budgies in it since its super easy for some diseases to be passed on in birds even if they look healthy.
this really annoyed me... why would you put a bird you found on the side of the road in a dingy rusty cage near your birds, let alone in the same cage ofc something off screen might have happened, like quarantine or a vet visit, but either way thats a really not great thing to do.
Beautiful Budgies oh, of course. I only mentioned it as a "common knowledge" tidbit, a generalization if you will. Each bird is different and they have wonderful personalities.
@@Laureen408 it does not matter if she or he laughs that way. We all type and say things differently and as long as they are happy and laughing at the dancing then they are happy and you can't help that.
I found a bird on the streets too. we couldn't find the owner so i got to keep him but he had a lot of health problems and had to go to the vets a lot. Then on the first of October he died I was so upset and sad and i still am now. Cookie reminds me so much of him he looked just like cookie. I miss him so much, we called him Buddy.
ah.. on the seventh my baby died.. my dads fault on accident... we had the strongest bond you could imagine. he helped me through school problems and anxiety. I miss him
Wow, hes beautiful and already seems comfortable thanks to the other birdies. Maybe put a pic up of him on a local vets facebook page to see if anyone has lost him? he doesn't seem totally wild. Also it probably wasn't the smartest thing putting him in with your budgies incase he was sick. Usually a quarantine is in order when getting a new bird.
If the owner lost him i feel so bad for them. I have around 14 budgies and i couldn't bring myself to think of them getting lost. But if the owner let it go, then i would wonder why they did. Hopefully they were not informed that realizing budgies into the wild is very dangerous and luckily your friend found him.
oh i feel so sorry for you =( , If you are to take your new budgies outside or in a car put twist ties around the doors to keep them closed so they cant get out. we had to do this to a cage in our home because birds were escaping during the day and not getting food which is no good.
I think the owner left in the street cause -He/she might go somewhere far where they can't take that budgie and knowing they feel sorry but they have to and left in the Street If someone else take that budgie
I found 2 budgies on the street, one is under my care now 💕 Both of them were babies and had no iris, one of them sadly passed away from a cat scratch... But the second one is still with me, he was also attacked but his wounds were less fatal, he made a full recovery! 😁
I had a budgie that was white that looked exactly like her..I lost her at age 19 on a winter morning..the window was opened and my baby was gone! Biscuit was going nuts! ;w; First Kiki, now the newbie. He has a knack for making friends, and he's only been here a short time. It looks like he is growing up nicely, too. Baby boy's going to be a big boy soon. -sniffles- But I'm with the others. You should keep the newbie. I like the names Frosting, Icing, and Cake.
+Alen AxP I think you should pin your explanation in an original comment. A lot of people (like myself, before your clarification) think that the bird was left in the cage.
A budgie came through my balcony, passed by my dog and just came in! I had never had a bird! Then I bought a mate for him and now they’recsuoer happy here and I love them!!
3 years ago you made me study to get a budgie I had my 2 budgies for a few months and then I found out I had to move I was upset but was happy my grandma took them 2 more years left and I get to see my budgies
This is how I acquired my Sky Blue Greywing Budgie. He was dodging traffic was stuck running back and forth in the center of opposing traffic. He was running so fast that he couldn't remember how to fly. He was a young bird maybe 5 months old or so. No one ever claimed him, so he became mine. Six weeks later he learned his name and started speaking it. From there he learned about 200 words and phrases. Something new every week. He is about 9 now and he is the best bird ever. I love him dearly.
IT'S A SHE! HER NAME IS ANGEL AND I'M HER OWNER! MY BABY WAS KIDNAPPED AND TAKEN AWAY FROM ME WHEN I GOT HER SHE COULDN'T FLY I LOOKED EVERYWERE AND I COULDN'T FIND HER I BET THIS PERSON TOOK MY BABY AWAY FROM ME
I also found a abandoned budgie and it was in front of my apartment. My parents let me keep him. He's really scared but when he's near my other two budgies he gets calm. So yeah now i have three healthy, floofy, and adorable budgies.
Such cute birds. Glad he's doing well. If you need to even the numbers another boy may be best as they could squabble over a single hen? Could be worth putting up some posters locally and advertising on Birds Lost and Found sites. could be someone's loved pet.
Yes, it's very important. It's always recommended a few weeks of quarantine just to make sure he doesn't have any diseases/ticks that could spread to the other little ones!
don't worry, that bird is not sick at all, if it was, it would be fluffed up and in a resting pose, which it is not, and a cage that size is actually perfectly fine for small birds, plus they seem to be able to leave their cage quite frequently so the size is no problem to them.
izzAbizz the cage is not too small for the two he had at least, I've had birds my entire life and considering he just got the third one, it's fine. I recommend sizing up soon but it's not necessary if you give your birds plenty of playtime outside the cage.
The reason for quarantine is because birds can have a hidden illness before symptoms show. It's recommended to quarantine for at least a month, in a separate room before introduction. I've had friends get new birds and not show symptoms of illness, and had it not been for the quarantine process, it would've passed it's contagious illness to the rest of the flock. Quarantine also helps with letting them get settled in and adjusted to a new environment without being overwhelmed by the rest of the birds (if any).
Aww, I'm so glad you found him and that he's being cared for! I lost a lovebird once because he was a little coot and somehow managed to get his food door open and let himself out. Never saw him again, was really torn up about it :(
her name is angel and she was kidnapped along with her cage..the window was wide opened and my baby wasn't there anymore..she couldn't fly ever sense she was a baby I miss her dearly and I looked everywhere for her but I couldn't find her I WANT HER BACK RIGHT NOW
I found a budgie loose on my street. he was alone and confused. my mum took him in and I helped make a big box comfortable for him. He was definitely a pet as he settled in really quickly and didn't hesitate to sit in our hands. Luckily, we found the owner but also got a budgie of our own. Little Kiwi immediately went to the rescued budgie and gave him some company before his owner came to get him. I hope that the budgie my mum rescued is ok.
GOOD News everyone, little one is doing fine with Cookie, he is not attacking him...

Love the video tho
he definitely should've quaranteed the bird...
CHICKY KAPOOR its millet seed. It’s still drugs for birds tho, so you Shoshone give it to them often.
The budgie seems healthy there are no signs of a sick budgie so it’s ok to put him with the others
Heavenly GiftedCritters.
if he was outside he might have contracted a disease from wild birds which just hasn't shown yet, i would be careful in the beginning
thank you so much for rescuing this little guy!

I found both of my budgies on the street, one of them a year ago and another just two days ago. He was so weak and could barely fly, he’s doing way better now that I adopted him. 💕💕
Cookie will get used to the new budgie i think, don't worry. Just give them time.
A_Little_Me how do you peck a budgie to death after it's already dead?

And don't "set birds free" unless they are wild and being nursed back to health.
"Freeing" a domesticated is a death sentence. They were not raised out there.~

Making sure that my sentences line up has always been compulsion of mine.
I usually let it go, if I'm making a paragraph. *But for short posts like this, well.*
As for the squiggly line, it's just a space taker.

He seems really happy in our home💕
i know a person with a similar story:
one day he was just mindinh his business and sudenly he hears in a very high ptich voice from the window in his room "chichi wants millet" and he sees a yellow budgie
he quickly closes the window and gives the budgie millet (he had some left around since his canary died about a month before that happend sad stuff i know) and opened the door of the cage and he kept the budgie for a few years afterwards

I think I know which anime you are referring to.
Is it about a flock of adult budgies helping a baby budgie find his owner?

I almost lost my budgie and my cockatiel Cuz I left the door open. They flew out of the door and I ran after them before they flew towards the cats. My female budgie mango died because she flew towards those cats and those cat killed her and didn't even eat her and just threw her away😭😭😭

If I can offer some constructive criticism next time you get a budgie that isn't from a breeder it's probably not a good idea to put it in with other birds until you get it tested for things like beak and feather disease and other things. Even if they don't show symptoms they can still pass it to other birds
Yeah would've been better yo take him for a check up first.
Do i still have to quarantine my new bird if it is from a breeder then
Bear DEC i had my lovebirds in different cages at first to make sure they wouldnt be aggresive right in the beginning then i changed the whole cage and put them together that should work :)
Wow, Biscuit likes him so much that it's adorable

Eric Loja Make sure to feed them a diet of mainly pellets, fruits, veggies, sprouts, cooked eggs and legumes/ rice, and crushed egg shells! :3 Only give seeds as a treat cuz it can cause fatty liver disease. Also buy plenty of different sized and shaped perches so they can exercise their feet! And also let them outside in the house to fly for exercise! :D

The cage is a suitable size, it does not need to be perfect, though bigger is always better.
Cervid Skull
Well, it's not too bad for two birds..but three is slightly a stretch. There isn't a whole lot of room for them to go places in there anymore. He doesn't have to get a huge €500 cage, it's easy to get a large cage for under €200 (I have one myself)
Cervid Skull
Of course it doesn't need to perfect.
Cervid Skull
Yeah, it's fine as a temporary while he maybe looks for a larger cage.
Some Bumbling Idiots Why would I listen to some bumbling idiots? (Jk awesome advice)
this really annoyed me... why would you put a bird you found on the side of the road in a dingy rusty cage near your birds, let alone in the same cage
ofc something off screen might have happened, like quarantine or a vet visit, but either way thats a really not great thing to do.
Beautiful Budgies oh, of course. I only mentioned it as a "common knowledge" tidbit, a generalization if you will. Each bird is different and they have wonderful personalities.

Bee its mine
he said he found it on the street?
Bee yeah because i letted it my grandmas door and someone moved it
oh?
Hes sick if you put him near other birds the budgie will die so give it to me
Beautiful little bird! Sweet flock!!

He was running so fast that he couldn't remember how to fly. He was a young bird maybe 5 months old or so. No one ever claimed him, so he became mine. You should have waited to put the new parakeet in the cage with them.
Yes, it's very important. It's always recommended a few weeks of quarantine just to make sure he doesn't have any diseases/ticks that could spread to the other little ones!
I hope you quarantined him first. And that cage is way too small.
don't worry, that bird is not sick at all, if it was, it would be fluffed up and in a resting pose, which it is not, and a cage that size is actually perfectly fine for small birds, plus they seem to be able to leave their cage quite frequently so the size is no problem to them.
izzAbizz the cage is not too small for the two he had at least, I've had birds my entire life and considering he just got the third one, it's fine.
Quarantine also helps with letting them get settled in and adjusted to a new environment without being overwhelmed by the rest of the birds (if any).
izzAbizz the cage was the one that was found with him
Aww, I'm so glad you found him and that he's being cared for! I lost a lovebird once because he was a little coot and somehow managed to get his food door open and let himself out. Never saw him again, was really torn up about it :(
