Glad you are back:) would be really nice some videos with short but intense situations with comments from you what you chose to do and why, that would be for more expirienced pilots quite interesting.

A tip for the Spit specifically is to set the brakes at about 25% when you drop the gear. This allows you to have a semblance of toe braking, but you have to be careful to avoid burying the prop!

For beginers I would add the first thing our instructor told us about landings: *"Proper landing is a stall from zero height."* :) So there you go with Flare... higher angle of attack = higher air resistance = loosing airspeed linearly = losing altitude linearly.
In RL, you would idle the throttle just on the rwy threshold, then start the flare and *gradualy* pull the stick as the Earth is coming - in order to loose the airspeed as much as possible.

great video! I always struggeld with landing the old ww2 planes (and taking off, in the Bf-109 at least) but i also have a lot of bad habits from the Viggen because it's very easy to land and easily forgives high landing speeds and rates of descent. Well it was designed for it

Cr.42 is very good landing trainer imo. It had no flaps so only way to land is slow down correctly.

The worst thing for me in props is the torque at low speeds on final with the throttle changes

You need to be VERY smooth with it. The best final approach is that where you do not need to change a thing (given perfect weather conditions). Better have some speed reserve (about 10-15 kph). Remember - with the stick (Fw/Bk) you control the SPEED, with throttle (Up/Dn) you control the ALTITUDE!

adjust your landing style if it bothers you. the most important is too have descent rudder pedals. Pilots have 2 approach choices beginners in real life tend to prefer shallow approach with engine on and Experienced pilots tend to prefer high angle approach. i recommend high angle approach with engine completely off it is the better choice with less torque problems. dont do it like he does it it is harder to do shallow approach and more room for error ovoid low angle approach for best experience. getting high angle judgment might be tricky at first but it is the better of the two in many ways. Practicing high angle approach with engine cut and 3 point landing will improve your experience.

The "ground physics" in DCS are not correct to IRL, for airplanes.
Very noticeable when landing/take-off props, also jets in strong x-wind.
You have to learn to land the props "DCS WAY" which would probably kill you IRL!
