      That's what happened in 1986 in Europe is, unfortunately, but that You Americans never understand. I've never experienced that what was Communist regime Authorities of the Soviet Union and throughout the so-called Eastern Bloc. In Poland, the Chernobyl catastrophe we learned very late. Even today, contamination is reaping the rewards. People often get sick here thyroid cancer.

      I don't know why americans are so obsessed with chernobyl, really at this point it's almost like a gum that has been chewed 5 times over. It's not even real exploring as there are so many tourist-like tours there, if you want something special in chernobyl you have to take the "illegal" tours and even cross the border to belarus but you will have to hike for a couple days and sleep in abandoned buildings in the exclusion zone. But even those tours are not really special anymore...

    • @InfamousCrimeLocations
      @InfamousCrimeLocations 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Urbex Tyrol Because there isn't anything comparable to explore in the U.S. I think the history behind Chernobyl is what draws me in.

    • @DarkExploration
      @DarkExploration 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Urbex Tyrol because its unique and a whole city thats abandoned. Tell me another city with as much history.

    • @UrbexTyrol
      @UrbexTyrol 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well historywise there are several smaller abandoned cities in italy that are centuries old. But if you mean the nuclear desaster with history, i would rather go and visit fukushima as this is far more interesting and less touristy in my opinion.

    This is really cool. I've always been interested in what happened there and then, seeing the photos of the abandoned city around the reactor and all the people that were affected, just hard to comprehend the things that were left behind. Will be interesting to see what Igor has to show you!

    Thank you so much Cody for posting this video. One of the most informative I've seen on this subject ( just about to watch 2nd one) I am fascinated with this disaster. I am old enough to remember the news of this on the TV one morning before going to school. As I live in England I can also remember the authorities taking Geiger counter readings of fields and parks as the radiation spread. It terrified me as a little boy.

    i was born in germany in november 1986. the government gave my parents the advice to not eat vegetables, fruits or anything that can be contaminated with radioactive material, till i will be born. it was a big deal all around europe. even milk has been set to a high risk. +Exploring With Cody thats not the border to belarus its a railroad track.

    Ooh I live in sweden😂 My dad told me about how when you like went out hunting and then for example shot like a moose or elk or whatever you had to get it checked before you could like eat it because the radiation level was so high. The same thing withe berries and mushrooms. It was because of the wind and the rain that was full of radiation. and yes I'm a teenage girl that loves talking, reading and hearing about this subject lol😂💕💖

    Dang Cody!! your vlogs are getting professional!! I'm curious this happen 1986.... is this why we have global warning? this stuff spread did it dissipate?

    • @SharpShot2003
      @SharpShot2003 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      no global warming is because of gases that trap the sun's rays, This heats up the world. Power plants that burn coal help heat up the world, cars emitting carbon. Nuclear power doesn't heat up the planet because it's a clean energy when done right, like a wind turbine. However, nuclear power does products waste that's hard to handle.
      Why a Nuclear power is classed as a clean energy is because it doesn't put anything out to its environment unless something has gone wrong. Coal power plants emit co2 to the environment.

      shady's ole lady I would say a majority of people in Europe have issues with the thyroid and have thyroid cancer bc of the incident. Especially in Poland, multiple generations have issues with this and have to take pills. Most of my family has this issue as well as just most of the people I knew in Poland
