So helpful and insightful. Especially thinking about using colour channels to edit the black and white in raw.

In these days of replaced skies, so-called 'blue hour' shots and livid sunsets, I love the simplicity and poetry of black and white when it's done well.
    Thank you Adrian.

Very nice, concise presentation. I mostly know these precepts but need prompting all the time, and this was one of the best prompts.
I also very much enjoy your no-music walks; I've been recognizing Presidio Park in San Francisco. I guess if you want fog, you're in the right place.
    Thanks!

I make almost entirely black and white photos. Thank you for your good ideas they are very helpful as usual. Your laid back, educational approach is a welcome relief.

That sandwich description was very well-constructed. The use of contrast to make a boring subject interesting was an excellent point. And that supreme guidance, "Don't fight the light, you will always lose." Both for the shed in your example and in the broader sense, you can find a workable image despite the light by seeing what it is making available to you - either bringing out the details or blocking them up. That also goes to the approach of bracketing your composition by using different viewing angles on the subject. Inherently the light will change most of the time.
Excellent presentation throughout. Jam-packed with information and examples, and in a short time too.

Very clear and useful video. Black and white has saved my love for photography over the last year or so. Due to family and work commitments I was struggling to get to locations at times when there is great light and conditions for colour photography. Black and white opened another world for me, it’s like seeing another dimension when you look through a camera set to B&W. I’ve found all kinds of subjects local to me at all kinds of day which make great B&W images. Even when I do get chance to go on photography trips my priority is B&W now but will still take a colour image if I find something which works. Thank you for making these videos as definitely been a great source of inspiration and encouragement.

You can pick nearly any of your videos and you find solid data and views on photographic topics being the in scope of your kind of photography, which make a lot of sens to me and BTW I like. And your are getting better and better and/or faster E.g. "Foggy morning in town" was extremly amazing. To see you creating the work AND the outcome. One of very best 'shooting' video I have seens at all.

I have just watched this video for the third time and I'm so glad you made it. It's possibly the most thought provoking video you have made. It makes me look at everything differently. For example: a rather mundane looking scene might have great potential at night, in fog, later in the day, in winter etc. Trying to visualise these different conditions conditions your mind to be more creative. With practice, you give yourself a wealth of subjects no mater the weather or location. Thank you Adrian

What you showed in your video is not really photography but digital image manipulation where most of the shown images were heavily edited/manipulated/modified to change reality to your own version of dis-reality.
