    What do you think of this crazy hike?! Does it deserve the name "stairs of death"? Would you hike it? 😬

      I have a bit of a fear of heights, I have a good physique, but I don't do it in Huayna Picchu, my fear of heights is my
      Kryptonita :/

      @@adrianobenavent7924 Definitely understandable. One of our close friends chose not to do this hike as she also has a fear of heights. Instead, she got a longer tour of the Machu Picchu ruins and a cold beer in town while we were dying on this hike - we were pretty jealous! 😅

    It' s nothing to be scared of. We did it last month. Out of 25 from our group, 15 did it. 10 were scared after watching these kind of videos and did not sign up and missed a great opportunity. We did 4 days 3 nights Inca trail and anybody who can do that, can easily do this. Don't watch these videos and be scared. The thrilling part of this hike was the unexpected tunnel and the view from the top . I am almost 60 and took 45 min.

      Congrats on completing the Inca Trail, that's awesome! I agree, Huayna Picchu isn't anything to be afraid of and we were very glad we did it. But we do have a friend that is terribly afraid of heights and she did not want to go and we respected that, it's not for everyone.

    I can handle the steep steps going up. Was there anything to hold on to going down the steep steps?

    • @AdventureswithPinny
      @AdventureswithPinny  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Luckily the way down is different than the path you take going up (I was super nervous on our way up thinking I did NOT want to go down that too haha). The path down is less steep, wider, and only a small part of it is near the edge. And for this part there is a wall you can kind of hold on to / lean on if needed (you can see this section in the video at 05:13). I hope this helps!

    This is amazing, but it makes me feel queasy just looking at the heights. Did anyone who was with you have issues with the steep steps and sheer heights?

    • @AdventureswithPinny
      @AdventureswithPinny  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you! And most definitely. We did have a few members of our group who chose not to do the hike after watching videos online ahead of time. Then during the hike, we did have someone from our tour have a bit of a panic attack after nearly losing her footing. It's definitely not for the faint of heart.

      @@AdventureswithPinny You're welcome and heights is one thing, but add unstable steps and I can understand why!

    • @AdventureswithPinny

      @@GospelTestimony Most definitely, it was certainly a bit terrifying!

    What hiking shoes are you wearing for this? Thinking about trying this next year

    • @AdventureswithPinny

      We both have Oboz Bridger boots. We've had them for years and are very happy with them. I think having boots with a good grip and ankle locking is especially important for those precarious steps! The link is in the description if you'd like. Hope this helps. We really enjoyed the hike and recommend doing it if you can!

    Wonderful pictures, I did this in 2004, but why this irrelevant and disturbing pop music?
