This is the only interview with Robert Eggers on this entire press tour where it feels like he is enjoying it and is going “off-script”. Congratulations to the interviewer! Great video.
I never seen him doing so many interviews thats why most of them were scripted. People asked the same questions but he did some awesome off script interviews after Nosferatu screening.
@@stevemuzak8526Truly dozens and dozens and many in the same room and outfit. I imagine they just sat him down and different interviewers cycled past for their 15 minutes all day long
@@swiftlymurmurs Yes, that's how it was done.
@@swiftlymurmursThat’s how movie junkets typically work. But this was actually shot at the Lyndhurst Mansion north of NYC. So Eggers was generous in that he came to a place we thought embodied the spirit of the movie. No other press here but us and his team. All really nice.
@@errol.barnett - What a great location. Tarrytown (and Sleepy Hollow) is beautiful and rich with history and Lyndhurst, as I understand it, was used as the exterior for Dark Shadows.
As a member of the Robert Eggers subreddit, yeah, we’ve all be obsessive for over a year at this point. It’s a beautiful thing for the film to have finally arrived. Genuinely never been more excited for a film and it absolutely lived up to all the hype (and some).
This man is a generational talent. The Lighthouse is my favorite work from him.
yes of the millenial gen
Directors like Robert Eggers are one of a kind.
excellent interview! i love Robert Eggers, and what i appreciate is that in this extended version, the interviewer and Eggers weren’t rushed… thank you!
I get to see this tonight and I’m SO excited! The level of work, art, and talent that went into this… and I love Willem Dafoe…
I’m not one to go out of my way to see a horror film, but gothic horror… brilliant!
This man is a genius
Bro is handsome
what is the interviewer's name?
true, directors are usually old or ugly
He’s a great director. I can’t wait till people talk about him like Steven Spielberg.
There is beauty in the darkness.
MY KING MY GOAT
Same dude
Black Phillip is my goat
Robert ur the best director out rn
Robert eggers the man that you are ! ❤
Eggers revealing a little bit about himself in this video. The 'loosing mind by going too deep into the occult' fear sandwiched neatly between being alone and being stabbed. I'd like to follow that one up.
P. S. Weird editing on this interview.
Great interview, but this feels very weirdly edited
Why’s this edited like that
Came to ask the same thing lmao
My 🐐

Nice haircut Robert 😻

The Witch remains #1. Nosferatu is #2. Pacing was a bit off...top notch performances from all involved. left slightly disappointed, but likely due to my sky high expectations.
Wrong, the film is perfection.
Nosferatu is his best film
The characters were undeveloped (and some were pretty stale) and the plot didn't make any sense.
@@azure5644 The Witch and The Lighthouse are a thousand times better than both Nosferatu and The Northman. Eggers is going downhill.
@ you’re Nosferatoo much of a hater.
But I completely agree that The Witch and The Lighthouse have better characters. I need to rewatch them, I might like them more than Nosferatu on a second viewing. But Nosferatu was awesome. And to be fair to him, Nosferatu and The Northman are both adaptations. I think his next movie “The Knight” might be original since if it was an adaptation we would’ve probably heard so.
Does anybody watch CbS mornings anymore 😅
Imagine a new band comes out and instead of writing a debut album they remake the White album.😂
@c.gretchen3629 you're defensiveness of my comment seems super weird to me
I've never heard of recording artists remaking entire albums, but they certainly have remade individual songs.
