  • I visited the Norton Owners Cub International Rally, held at The Red Ball Ring in Austria, in August 2018. This is me cooking up pasta in a campsite too not far from the Czechia border.

I love the freedom of cooking on the road. Food always tastes better in the outdoors.
I'm wondering how long it takes to boil pasta with an alcohol (spirit) burner. Sardines are good to pack. Especially the ones packed in olive oil.
A glass jar of tomato sauce is heavy. The weight of canned food can really add up. I like to take eggs with me. They keep for several days on the road and are easy to cook. Canned Spam is good, and in the U.S. we can get it in single-serving packs, so you don't have to open a whole can.

Cooking on a spirit stove is my preference Garth. I used a Colman petrol stove for over 30 years, mainly because I could refuel it easily from my bike’s gas tank. But to my mind they are not so easily controlled as the spirit stove. The spirit stove takes a little longer to boil water say, but there is not much in it really. The Trangia is also a very good system imo.
I like my food and I am usually a little more adventurous when it comes to camp cooking, as I intend to demonstrate in future videos. The sardines and tuna dishes I have featured so far are normally a backstop that I carry in case I have not found food to buy. Usually I buy food on a daily basis when on the road. But I also like to eat in roadside restaurants etc.
I buy eggs too, but I’ve yet to try Spam, however I have seen some interesting recipes in which it is featured, so I don’t suppose it will be long.

Roy Dean don’t know about having filled my diary, but I am planning trips. I am off east across Europe and beyond with my buddy in the spring for a few weeks. Also I will try and do the NOC rally again. Different venue every year, but it is a lot of fun. And no doubt, come the autumn I’ll pay my yearly visit to Portugal. I would also like to get the bike stateside, but that trip will have to wait another year.
