  • At Holyrood today Carol Mochan asked the Scottish Government what value it places on resourcing community sport as part of efforts to eradicate health inequalities.
Maree Todd, Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport, replied that the Scottish government invest, through sportscotland, in key programmes, such as community sports hubs, that benefit communities across the country.
Ms Mochan followed up with: 'Does the minister agree-and is it not the case-that this Government’s incessant cuts to our local councils, and therefore cuts to our communities, show that tackling health inequality has never actually been a priority for it?'
When replying the minister was distracted by heckling as she was blaming UK government austerity, before shouting 'I cannot respond'
The Presiding Officer then swiftly moved on before Ms Todd could finished her statement.
