Cuyahoga Valley National Park Waterfalls- Blue Hen Falls, Brandywine Falls, Brandywine Falls Trail
While at Cuyahoga Valley National Park I took a day to explore the park's waterfalls visiting the Blue Hen Falls and Brandywine Falls. I also hiked the Brandywine Falls Trail or Brandywine Gorge Trail.
A note on BLUE HEN FALLS- I hiked from the Boston Mill Visitor Center which is a very central location at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The hike is 1.2 miles both ways or 2.4 mile round trip according to Google. They do have a parking lot that is very close to the falls. The National Park closed this parking lot due to safety issues. In spring of 2020 many people were flocking to the waterfall and it was impossible for hikers to keep a safe distance from each other. They closed the close parking lot to cut down on traffic at the falls.
The hike from Boston Mill Visitor Center follows along the Buckeye Trail. It is a nice trail, but close to the highway and you can hear the cars nearly the entire time.
Brandywine Falls is likely the most popular waterfall at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The Brandywine Falls Trail is a boardwalk from the parking lot to the waterfall, but you can continue on the Brandywine Falls Gorge Loop Trail. It allows you to see more of the river and loops back to the same parking lot. I recommend it if you have time or want to see more in the area than just the waterfall itself.
Brandywine Falls is very close to the Ledges Trail. If you want a good hike, I recommend taking the trip over the ledges. You can check it out here: • HIKING CUYAHOGA VALLEY...
Cuyahoga Valley National Park is the only National Park in Ohio. It includes Ohio's Waterfalls, Trails and unique rock formations. There are quite a few Waterfalls in the Cleveland and Akron areas, but visiting Cuyahoga Valley Waterfalls allows you to see a high concentration in one area.
