Our first adventure of the day in Mesa Verde National Park was to hike the Point Lookout trail. You will do about 20 switchbacks, but the reward is some fantastic views!
Our second adventure of the day in Mesa Verde National Park was the Petroglyph Trail. Guys, this trail had everything! A canyon, wildlife, it rained and thundered, petroglyphs, caves, switchbacks, and cliffs! This is probably one of my top 10 favorite short hikes, and I knew nothing of it before I got here.

Me too, but this was during covid. There were no tours happening, and the shot of some of the ruins was the closest you could get to any of them. The trails we did were pretty cool, too.

We did this in 2021. Sad to hear that rock fall has closed it.
