I have a '08 Edge, had the same problem, transmission would get stuck in high gear..turned out it was the TSS & SS sensors, replaced those & have not had this issue anymore..
I am going online to and fill out a complaint to the National Highway Traffic Safety as suggested by Ryan Boyce. I feel we all should file this complaint, if you haven't down so yet! Who do they think they are taking advantage of consumers and we pay thousands for their hidden mistakes! I support Ryan and thanks!
I had the same issue with my Mercury Milan.The same lights were on.My air bag light, check engine and the wrench.The reason your rpms are high is because the car is in Limp Home Mode.This to allow you to get to a service station if you were on the highway or something. I coukd not go more than 40 mph.My car also made that horrible clunk when engaging in reverse. Ford said I needed a new transmission.
I have a 08 edge and i had the same problem but mine didn't have the tire pressure reading. I tried putting it in reverse and the same clunk happened. What i did was put it on "low" gear or the "L" and went about 15mph then switched it back to "D" and it fixed the problem. Gear wrench went away and reading went away as well. It has been a week and is still running good. I am not sure IF i did fix the problem, hopefully it was just a computer glitch. Other thing i can think off might be the throttle body or a sensor, anyway that was my experience.
ive got a 08 edge and its got tranny problems also ive got 1 month left on the powertrain warranty and i want it fixed i love my car but i wish i never bought it. the dealer fixed it a month ago and the problems back again. how do i go about suing ford im in canada?

It only takes a minute and hopefully we save others from the headache and dangers we have endured with this problem. I lost throttle power in the middle of the intersection which was extremely dangerous. Without a doubt, this needs to be recalled as soon as possible. Thank you! Has anyone found an answer to this??
This is the third video I have seen about this issue. I don't know if Ford made alterations for the 2009 model year, but I bought my 09 at around 93K and currently have 143K with no transmission issues whatsoever. I have also noticed that all three vehicles involved had fewer miles on the odo than mine did when I bought mine. I am equal parts confused and spooked. I have had mine for approximately two and a half years.
i noticed i have the same problem, only when battery terms were croded/dirty..clean it and no problems.. i assume the altinater is overcharging causing the rapid corrosion..only on positive side.
Trans issue is going to be the valve body and more than likely the two sensors in the trans. My 2011 edge sport is in the shop right now for the second time for that reason. This will be the second time they are changing the valve body but the first on the sensors. Depending on the year and mileage it should be covered under warranty. Power train warranty for ford is 5yr/60000. Hope this helps.

+Gwyn Hoehn Well known problem. Happened to me a couple of times after a re-start. Would shut off engine and wait a few seconds, and then it would go away. Last time, it happened while I was driving... not a good thing when negotiating traffic, so I ended up ordering my parts AA5Z7M101B and AA5Z7H103B in order to replace them myself (speed sensor & transmission tunnel sensor). Procedure is pretty straightforward (drain fluid / open side of transmission / replace sensors). Will probably post a video when done for MKX/Edge owners' benefit...

Definitely TSS & OSS sensors. Replaced mine in about 4 hours and problem fixed. Parts were about $50.

Having the exact same problem. I took it to have a diagnostic and they said it's a output speed sensor.
What ever happened with your edge? Waitting for a follow up help us all out
i have a 2008 ford edge with the same trouble. I had it diagnosed they told me it was the output speed senser
We love you FORD but why FORD always has gear box issue?!!!
2008 Ford Edge I replaced the sensor panel. Did not help this problem. I worry about getting home driving my car now. It happens every week now. HELP!

it coused by tss & oss sensor inside the transmission you must clean it or replaes it

I heard it was a bad connection from battery clean post up real good and reconnect good luck

We have the same problem we put it in D and doesn't move, so we put it transmission oil and problem solved
