just bought a 2008 ford edge, 98,000 miles on it, bought it as is but the previous owner maintened it regularly, so this is very useful to have as i need this car to last me for the next few years
I have 2008 Edge with 220K miles some problem that I had are. The drive shaft was defective & needed to be replaced. The fan motor assembly connected to radiator needed to be replaced ( I bought aftermarket Dorman assembly six years ago & still working) I needed to replace front passenger wheel bearing & ball joint & control arm three times up till now ( I would go OEM on ball joint control arm)
could someone explain to me why my park lights flashes on off all through the night and runs down my battery . what causes it ,and what part do i need to fix it
I would just advise everyone to just service their vehicles!!! Problems are commonly caused from NO maintenance!! People don't service their vehicles They break then blame the dealer.
You dont need AWD anyway. I live in snow covered roads and FWD edges never fail. Had mine since it was almost new and has 170,000 with just spark plug change. Alternator was the biggest problem for me but it has a life time warranty and only cost me time. Put 2 on in the last 5 years but only bought one. Good vehicle
That's cause from a lack of maintenance! But it's Fords fault! My 2011 has 170000 miles and been serviced by myself and its all still all factory, stalk, all original!! I change ptu fluid at 30 thousand miles, engine oil at 5 thousand miles And the antifreeze every 2 years.
Ford really sucks with that water pump idea and I had door lock problem on driver side..I wanted the FWD model cause of ptu nonsense ...I thought the AWD had terrible gas milage...the edge is my last Ford those bean counters at Ford management congratulate yourselves you lost millions of customers to the Japanese auto makers due to your stupidity and wanting to not care about customers...
