Another banger vid. That TJ Maxx is just insane with the primo selection. Unreal. Here in NYC there are several and sometimes they have niche surprises but not often. You should def keep returning to your TJ every so often to see if it has more surprises. Mine has ok gummy worms.

I have a travel sprayer of African Leather, I'm still undecided if I'm going to get a full bottle or not. It's fantastic, but I think I have quite a few things ahead of it.

Hey Gerard. You are very lucky with the selection at your stores. I don't see anything close to that until the Xmas stock arrives.And even then,it is a hit or miss. You had that Dunhill Custom in your hand. That is one I really like. The scent is really nice but the performance leaves something to be desired. Maybe 4 to 5 hours on a good day. Memo African Leather is good and the price is great at 179 but that Nishane African Olifant...OMG .. too animalistic for me.

seriously, your tj maxx videos are like stores in an alternate universe, the ones in my town are ALL bricks on shelf, never found anything remotely near what you come up on, props.

One thing I can say is check before you leave the store, One day I picked up what I thought was Mancera red tobacco it ended up being a return and someone swapped it with a cheap fragrance. I couldn’t tell until they got the plastic security case off and I went to my car to give it a go. I was pretty ticked

I was in Boston on vacation last week and had to stop in your Marshalls and TJ Maxx on Washington St. while we were walking the Freedom Trail. Didn't buy anything, but was fun to visit your stomping grounds.

@@gerardgeorge The highlights were touring the USS Constitution and catching the last game of the season at Fenway. It was part of a larger New England trip to see the fall leaves, so I only had a day in Boston. I'd like to go back sometime though.
As for fragrances, I had some decants of Mancera Holidays that I put in my travel bag. Although it can lean feminine, I love the coconut tropical vibe, and performance is stellar. I thought it would be the perfect scent for walking the beaches and rocky shores of Maine and Rhode Island, even though the temps were not so tropical being in the 60s. Still, I found it to work great and I wore it several times so I created a scent memory with it. Now when I wear it back home, I can remember the great times I had in New England.

Is that African Leather very masculine? Like can a woman pull it off you think? I have Tom Ford Tuscan Leather and Ombre Leather and I wonder if this is in the same category, leaning masculine but good on a woman.
I can absolutely see a woman wearing it. If it leans masculine it’s not by much.
my local (70miles radius) tj maxx marshalls burlington are like a bomb just went off there. every single one of them.

My mouth literally dropped open when I saw some of the fragrances in that locked case. No T.j.Maxx in my area even has a locked case!
A lot of them seem to be switching over.
I saw a bottle of godolphin and creed aventus cologne once at the tjmaxx in newton and Framingham. Both were slightly above discounter prices. So not a great deal.
Yes I saw an Aventus Cologne there but as you said not a great deal.

Great pick up for you. I'm not a big fan of Memo, I find them too safe smelling for an expensive niche.
I can see that being the case Bryan nothing challenging about this one for sure.
Boss Selection is a great everyday frag,I wore this in the mid 2000s.
I can definitely see it being a signature everyday scent!
I could tell right away that the Memo, Xerjoff, and Nishane were returns because they weren’t wrapped. It sucks that they just turn around and sell it for the same price though.
I agree but I got lucky on PDM Godolphin! Thing was marked down like 5x!

I just recently had the chance to try a lot of niche scents. Things youtubers always talk about. It was a good day but only a few i would consider purchasing.
African leather was one i got to try but it isn't the type of scent i'm looking for right now

I like it Ismael. I just prefer Sean John unforgivable they are very similar.
I have it also I like it. I usually spray 7 times. I get decent longevity. It is a sweeter fresh scent. I have not had my nose to Unforgivable due to my having Love and Luck. Good luck and enjoy the journey.

That’s disappointing Raffi! It’s nice to find a gem. I stay away from the real cheap junk however there are a few worth trying in the sub $40 range.

I have Ambre Sultan… Which I like. (I like Chergi more..) But have gone back and forth on picking up AL..
Ambre Sultan is top 5 for me I think. I’d have to say AS.
Most Memo leather accords are supporting notes… Not so much the main player.
But they work leather into just about everything.. in varying degrees. I’ve sampled many.. all nice.
But African And Russian Leather were the only two I wanted full bottles of.
Haven’t pulled the trigger on the African yet… Russian is like a brisk piney Fougere… Love it.
Russian leather has been on my list for awhile. I need to grab it!

Afrika Olifant would have been a nice pull, yes it’s animalic but wow it’s a beautiful and super interesting scent.
I am intrigued by it. Everything I’ve read says it’s challenging and not blind buy safe. Obviously if I hated it I could always return it I suppose.
When you look at these older Hugo Boss fragrances like Selection, you will notice that it isn't produced by Hugo Boss. They are Cote products. I guess that Cote acquires the rights to has-been fragrances and puts them out at lower cost.

I purchased African Leather at a great price but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. I get how for some its amazing. I respect that, longevity amazing btw. Luckily I was able to resell it a recoup all my money back. Def recommend sampling first if you can 👍

Well especially Burlington down here, have about everything and plenty .. 2 days ago I went to 2 Ross in my area and I was amazed when I saw a few of the Mercedes line on stock then the Nordstrom rack is all about gift sets and also a nice selection of fragrance just a bit costly but different than rack stores I think u will find good stuff , like the dunhill Icon line, you can find a few ones at Nordstrom Rack same with the English Laundry line they have most of them on stock, even the Mugler Ultimate few ones but saw them for $55 all gone

By the way, I never hear any mention of an old, and I mean old, favorite of mine, Pour Un Homme by Caron. Are you familiar with this fragrance?

@@gerardgeorge It's a perfect blend of vanilla and lavender. I have a 750ml bottle, but it's more than ten years old...I think it's turning...it's just so old-fashioned...it came out in 1934, I think...time to move on!!!

Great find! African Leather is my favorite out of the handful from the Memo leather line I've tried (several I haven't sampled yet)...ended up buying a 15 mL decant a while back.

Best I’ve seen at my Marshals was some Aqua di Parma’s. Good stuff but they didn’t have the ones I liked (fico di amalfi or leather)

it was pre-pandemic maybe 2019, but I got my ADP Essenza 3.4oz from my local TJ Maxx on clearance for $69.00. so it can be done.

I purchased that same fragrance for 160 plus tax a while back. I must say they didn't know what they had. Also try Italian leather by Memo. Imo it is second best in the Memo leather series.
