- In video games or esports, taking L’s is all part of the experience. It’s all good, go next. But not all losses are created equal. They can’t all be defiant, heroic last stands. Some losses are so embarrassing they've been cursed to be memed on for all eternity.
This week on Listed, we’re listing off the most embarrassing ways pros have actually lost games.

100 Thieves getting 13-0’d against The Guard was also embarrassing because the loss was so bad that a few days later they dropped the two players they recently picked up with one of them being an EU import

@@SleevesYT 100 Thieves is good in showing promise and then falling abruptly it feels like. Everytime they make a new roster it usually looks good in the beginning and then massively drops. This current roster also looks promising and I think they can make it work if they try to work on the mistakes, rather than changing up the roster every tkme ^^
Could be worse. At least they didn't get 13-0'd in a first to 10
g2 getting 13-0ed by gambit was worst, they get brutally taken down on the stage after all the trashtalk

and the all womens league team who never won a game or took a single tower.
the euniited game is just hte biggest BM move possible, slept in, forefeited 2 matches, still won
G2 being the first and in Valorant history to go 13-0 in a LAN event should be in this list. If that LAN had an audience I could not imagine the faces they would make. Such a sad ending for their Masters 3 2021 run, especially after beating Sentinels who people thought were invincible coming into that Major.
Thankfully they lost against Gambit, the winner of that Major.

I would also include SC2 Idra. 1 was vs huk where huk hallucinated void rays and Idra rage quit. 2nd was against MVP, MVP killed his own base on accident, idra just had to defend and push but rage quit again.
That time when s1mple tried to knife someone and it cost NAVI the whole game, it was so crazy seeing how one failed knife kill could cost an entire game
In the gyro misclick its kinda funny how the RNG players immediately realized Alliance messed up while the casters r trying to justify why they might have picked gyro
the teams were seated facing each others on the stage and LaNm seeing how the Alliance boys reacted is a big part of it. I assume the casters didn't have a view on the teams unless they happened to be on the main stream.
They saw Alliance player holding his head in his hand NotLikeThis. That's why they knew Alliance messed up.
What happened was, Alliance ran out of time to ban a hero, this autobanned a random hero and started timer for Alliance last pick. Alliance didn't realise this and picked Gyro instantly instead of banning the hero
iirc alliance were ahead in that game and then rng hit a bunch of clutch chronos to win it
For those who are wondering why Wei would even have ignite on his sums in the first place... you gotta keep in mind that that game happen around when Smite/Ignite Graves was meta... more than likely he was planning on doing that set up but forgot he had Flash on F instead of D (or even just swapped out Smite as a Solo Queue habit).
That makes a lot of sense, so he didnt see the flash slot, but he saw that he already have ignite
Actually in Estars tweet about his fine, they stated that Wei was playing 1v1s with teammates before the match and just forgot to swap ignite to smite in the actual match. They tried to negotiate with refs in loading screen but the result was they were told to continue playing
My favorite is a cs summit event where a full G2 roster lost to mouz who had a stand in and a coach playing

This vid missed a key detail on the OWL C9, if you watch the lucio icon on the overhead view, you'll notice that he was going to contest but got stunned by the enemy team and pushed away preventing the stall at the last second.
Where's the infamous "WHAT ARE YOU STANDING UP FOR?!?!!?!?" this is an iconic loss for Woshige

9:09 Glad to see i'm not the only one that has forgotten which side they're on in valorant. one time i won a clutch 1v3 on defense and then just walked away from the bomb when i had plenty of time because for some reason i thought i was on attack
When s1mple tried to knife the last enemy on the last round but he failed and that last player clutched the round and his team ended up winning the game in overtime. i dont remember the tournaments name but i know it was on dust 2 :D

props for including smite on a list. It's definitely not popular but it has some really good moments across its pro league seasons.
Gotta love how C9 Dota misses their teleports and then a little bit later c9 ow forgets to stay on the point. Both staying in the their respective games history as an embarrassing game losing mistake.
I agree with you that this is embarrassing. The alliance/insania misclick wasnt THAT embarrassing at all. Very bad mistake, yes, embarrassing no.

Sleeping in, forfeiting 2 games and still winning is the biggest flex I've ever seen in ESports.
Maybe the extra few minutes actually helped

One of my favorite is CLG vs. Red Reserve at DH Valencia 2017 CS:GO: 15-12 to CLG on the deciding map, and they mess up the defuse in a 3v0 situation by not letting the player with the defuse kit go for it ; one HOUR later they lost the map 28-24 and thus their spot to the playoffs
C9 v fnatic (i think) on overpass similar thing, famous "sit and burn" clip where 3 players died to posthumous Molotov on the bomb
Could probably note the famous Liquid choke, or the time s1mple missed a knife to win the game and ended up losing the map and series. 😂
Forgetting the second round in a figthing game aka the iconic "WHAT ARE YOU STANDING UP FOR"
you miss this: what about you are the third time champion of league of legend and loss a game in 16 minutes against your enemy region. This happened: SKt against IG in the MSI 2019, the actually, most fast game in international stage
that didnt come as a mistake, its all about faker being arrogant
Actually... IG losing a BO5 against an NA team 3-1 was more embarrassing than SKT losing in 16 mins against IG especially when IG recently won worlds with the same roster while SKT just got reassembled.
this isnt a single loss, but the most one of the most embarrassing things i've seen is that g2 won the r6s 2019 invitationals, and then had to get a direct invite to the 2020 inv's cus they didnt make it in themselves.
Honourable mention for FNC knocking out EG 2-0 at the S8PL finals in Rio. FNC had to play with their coach (Dizzle) instead of their IGL (Magnet) who fell ill just before the flight. EG were expected to make the grand final and possibly win it all but went out in the QF.

Should have included tsm’s 0-6 groups, or when they lost to the 0-5 flash wolves and didn’t make it out of groups as a result
the cs_nuke map was notorious for the bomb sounds being buggy so even when planted b it could sound like its planted A
the best part of the Gyro pick was the casters literally didn't even realize what had happened, you can tell because they don't address the fact Alliance didn't use a ban on the ti stage.
These losses got me ripping my hair!

I was hoping for some rocket league action with the elimination match between Renegades and Veloce at the season 8 world championship.
Game 4, elimination game for Renegades, and they own goal after a 9 minute or so overtime (golden goal situation): heartbreaking

The most embarrassing on this list has to be G2 Esports forgetting to defuse the bomb against Astralis. G2 will live with that shame for as long as people will remember😆😆😆
Why was there no honorable mention of VaeVictis ESports? Like losing 52-2 versus Vega Squadron is pretty humiliating... If I may replicate one commend it would be "I have seen 14-days suspensions for less." This was PRO match...

When Jensen said in an interview that he wanted and would "clap" faker.
When OG(dota) did their miracle run and Notail beat his bestfriend(former). Then did it again the next year and also did some serious BMs.
These three should be up there.
Honorable mention: DotA 2 kYxY TI 3 semi-final aegis deny. That not only cost them the game, it led to lose the whole series.
How'd they miss the most embarrassing of all. SONICFOX 13-0'ing PERFECTLEGEND in a first to 10 At FGC for Mortal Kombat on the stage during one of the biggest grudge matches that made history for the kid to become a 21x champion.
I really wouldn't be blaming G2 for that blunder at the bombsite, It's the french blood that forced them to retreat and surrender 🤣🤣🤣

You missed when Orange denied the aegis is Dota 2 lol, that shit was classic.
You make it sound like shock are unique in losing to a c9, while in truth it happens every couple of weeks, possibly 3 times in a single match (cough cough, chengdu hunters last week)
I mean two missed options was right away zvens or jensen throwing their final matches in LCS or the early pop-off at evo where player whos name I dont remember thought he won popped off and the 3rd round started and he got combo'd out before picking his controller up.

In CoD Toronto Ultra was up 4:0 against Minnesota Rokkr and lost the grand final 4:5 in the most reverse of reverse sweeps possible.

Honestly thought the CDL major 5 grand finals where ROKKR came back from 0-4 to win would've made it here.
I'll never forget during GC EMEA playoffs when Guild X surrendered against G2 Gozen. Cinnamon apparently misclicked on the Surrender button instead of the Time Out button and her teammates just voted yes. So they had to take a tech pause to restart the game where it left off which took like 30min. G2 did take the series 2-0 and not because of the surrender vote, but damn was it funny. Guild also lost a ban or pick in the next game they played as penalty. Mad funny when the game just ended barely 6 rounds into the half lol

When simple whiffed the knife kill on Nitro on map point , and Nitro went on to clutch the round and liquid went on to win the map in double ot and the series
Dont let FaZe Clan choking a 15-11 lead in the 2018 Boston Major to C9 giving NA its first and only Major in CSGO history distract you from the fact that TheScoreEsports missed mentioning it.
After the loss, the shock went on a legendary lower bracket run and ended up winning the grand final, but yeah that c9 is insanely embarassing.

Summit's molly suicide resulted in them not closing out the game and eventually losing the series, that should be on here.
