When Gladiator was in cinema in Australia I went to watch it with some friends. There was a lovely young Danish lady there all alone in the foyer. I asked her if she was waiting for anybody to see the film with. She wasn't as she was backpacking alone around Australia. I invited her to join me so she could have some company during the movie as it didn't seem right for a lady to sit all alone with nobody for company. It was an emotional movie and it was wonderful to share it with another person. I dropped her off at the bus station afterwards and never saw her again. Strangely enough, I think about this moment I shared with a complete stranger so many years ago. Despite not even remembering her name, she has a permanent place in my memories. This song reminds me of a snapshot in time when I was a younger man, sharing a beautiful moment with a beautiful woman who I would never see again.
Kindness is unique in its capacity to provoke such ordinary, yet heartwarming stories and experiences that are worth sharing. Thats an awesome memory. I have a story that’s vaguely linked to Gladiator. Years ago, when I was just a kid, I was living on the island of Nantucket. One afternoon, a friend and I were fishing on the southern beaches when suddenly the weather turned really bad in a matter of minutes. People started running for their cars as it seemed a waterspout had formed. Unfortunately, we were on our bicycles, and things got really scary. In that moment, as we debated whether to try riding away in a hurry or find a place to hide, an old man in a wetsuit and an old Ford van started yelling at us to come to him. We quickly threw our bikes in the back, and luckily, we drove away in less than a few seconds. It turns out the guy was a retired firefighter from New York, who had moved to the island to enjoy the rest of his life. He was suffering from skin cancer, and he told us that regular treatment wasn't working for him-his last resort was alternative medicine. He invited us for coffee at his place. When we arrived, there was a Gladiator poster on the wall, which sparked a long conversation about how great a movie it is and how rare it is to find films of that caliber. My friend and I left, safe and happy to have met this man-not only because he saved us, but because he was such a good person and a truly interesting one to talk to. I still remember that strange meeting from years ago. We were just kids, barely 19, working summer jobs, but it clearly made a lasting impact on me.

People are designed to create happiness and to help to live in purity, not in poverty, to help, and to love and to be loved ones! Maximus is a real image for one great man who defend its goal to end! He takes revenge for his family. We should live and insist as he does!! Such a powerful movie! There are no words to describe it!!!
This theme music evokes a feeling of joyous melancholy as it spotlights and acknowledges a great truth about the will and determination of one man to live his truth and in so doing show the way for a universal truth: that honor and destiny drive all. It's rare for a musical score to evoke such a profound emotional depth. A great masterpiece.
This is one of a handful of great movies for me. Not just because it was a great story, great acting, great direction, great music, etc. but most importantly it showed the great love a man had for his wife and family. Marcus never succumbed to temptations and that is not an easy thing to do. He wanted to do good by his family and when his family was killed, he wanted to not only take revenge, but to do good for his country.

Lying on the couch in the living room, realizing what life you have lead thus far, all memories coming back, tears running, everything hidden inside is flowing out and dissolves. Black turns to Gold, the crying of children becomes a sign of life, god is felt within, and then you realize that all pain is temporary if you decide to let it go, forgive and be forgiven, smile and be smiled at, dance and get danced with, come from peace and peace is always with you, radiate harmony always, thus harmony will be reflected back on you. Whilst your cheeks are still soaked a bright smile appears on your face and someone lets you know that no matter what is now, after every night follows a morning, after dusk comes another night.... and one day we all die. EDIT: Now i must watch Gladiator too :D
When I was sixteen, I won a great victory. I felt in that moment I would live to be a hundred. Now I know I shall not see thirty. None of us know our end, really, or what hand will guide us there. A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus," or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice. Remember that.
I was still a step away from crying with emotion, I wanted to cry, this song moves me with happiness, it transmits good memories, it makes me remember people that I love and admire with all my being. I want to tell the person who made this song that he is a genius 😭.
I marvel that in such simplicity of musical construction there can issue forth such unforgettable power. I feel as though I were in a church with no words...
'simplicity of musical construction' - composing music, great music that is that communicates and touches audiences, is far from easy! It takes a lot of time, consideration and editing when choosing the right harmonies, melodies and instrumentation. The process for film composers, I can only imagine, is very arduous 😊
For those whom suffered pain and lost....I stand with you, I stand for you. As the sound of a child's cry for hunger the concrete walls enclose our horizon taking each breath of life away and into the cold foggy mist. I fear no man....all hope may seem lost yet a whisper sound echoes my mind summoning all my strength to not give up. To believe and return home for every person is lost in earth searching to be loved. One must remember....you are LOVED.
Some music you simply have to hear until the end... Even when you know your dinner's currently burning on the stove. Hans Zimmer, one in a billion music composer.
this music shivers down my spine. This is a masterpiece for sure. It shakes your soul the more you listen to it. It compels you to something great in your life so people honor you like the great Maximus...And all of this leads to the fact that YOU have a purpose in life which you must find and fight for till your very last breath.

Oh my gosh! Yesss! I have been looking for an extended version of this song for so long! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you, same to you friend 😊
@DᖇONE İLE VIDEO ÇEKIMLEᖇI oha dayı
Bravou moi ausi come toi
To the people who disliked this. Are you not entertained?
Are you not entertained!?!?.....ARE..YOU...NOT ENTERTAINED!!!!!!!!!!!?!??!??
ARE...YOU...NOT...ENTERTAINED?!
You'll understand your mistakes one day dislikers, but not yet...NOT YET!
Everyone who heard this must be honoured.

They need to make more movies like gladiator!!! Movie these days suck!!!
Absolutely dude! Who will help me carry him?
@@nathanbyberg We are not going to carry anything tho
Impossível não se emocionar. Vida longa a Hans Zimmer!
I was still a step away from crying with emotion, I wanted to cry, this song moves me with happiness, it transmits good memories, it makes me remember people that I love and admire with all my being. I want to tell the person who made this song that he is a genius 😭.
This amazing song should be played for every fallen soldier all over the world
I marvel that in such simplicity of musical construction there can issue forth such unforgettable power. I feel as though I were in a church with no words...
I agree with you on that Alton Grimes!
Эта музыка идеальна, для того что бы добавить трогательность любому моменту. Циммер Гений.
Some music you simply have to hear until the end... Even when you know your dinner's currently burning on the stove.
Hans Zimmer, one in a billion music composer.
Człowiek bez zasad jest jak roślina bez WODY💔
this music shivers down my spine. This is a masterpiece for sure. It shakes your soul the more you listen to it. It compels you to something great in your life so people honor you like the great Maximus...And all of this leads to the fact that YOU have a purpose in life which you must find and fight for till your very last breath.
Gives me chills every time this plays in the movie. Hans Zimmer is the modern Beethoven
The most beautiful film ever.even the music in this film is a colossal.and russell crowe really deserve highly this award.no other actor would have done it better.thanks to ridley scott for such a masterpiece.its been done most of it in my country malta❤
When I hear this I think of my late husband. He was a soldier in the battle of life. He was a good man and is deserving of honor.
Perhaps God will honor him for eternity.
I think this song is appropriate for those days when we bury our loved ones and remember the good times we spent with them.
I start crying every time I hear this song because it just conveys this emotionality
I just genuinely don't understand what kind of person would dislike this. Not only is it an unbelievably passionate and peaceful song, but the movie is one of the best ever. I just don't get people sometimes.
I will be the first to agree with you on that TheTyler701. Best song from the whole movie! Honor Him! Who will help me carry him?
Because they suck. No one in his right mind would dislike this masterpiece
New goal unlocked: live such a good and virtuous life that when i pass away i hear this music playing in the background
"Who will help me carry him?"
That's the bit that starts the tears for me, that line
Soyman Jack: I will
That part made me cry
Brilliant Hans Zimmer!
So Sad !!! But I can't stop listening to this sound track. One of the saddest movie ending of all time...
this and the last samurai have such bittersweet endings but I love them for it
+Poleybear i could not agree with you more
I agree with you on that one, but the song is also very empowering as well!
I found solace in him being reunited with his family.
DESDE LA PRIMERA VEZ Q. ESCUCHE GLADIADOR ME CAUTIVO ES RELAJANTE Y 💚 HERMOSO ÉSTE TEMA. NOSE SÍ HABRÁ ALGUNA PELICULA EN PARTICULAR. PERO YO CUANDO ERA. UNA NIÑAA ME GUSTABA MUCHO LSS PELIICULAS DE COMBATE DEL TIEMPO.DE CÚANDO EXISTÍA. ESOS TREMENDOS HOMBRES MUSCULOSOS Q. ME FACINABA VER. Y AHORA ME RELAJA EL ESCUCHAR ÉSTOS TEMAS. COMO.EN ÉSTE CASO "GLADIADOR".
😢😢😢
Unglaublich, was für Musik dieser Hans Zimmer hinkriegt...! 😙
This is the song that was played at my father's funeral. It was one of his favorite songs.
So this is the 5th time i watch this movie, and this is the 5th i cry at this music.
Good job Hans Zimmer
This is perfect. It’s like Hans Zimmer distilled Ancient Rome and put it into a bottle, and now we can drink it. I can close my eyes and feel the sun beat down on me in an Olive grove, people passing in their tunics and men donning togas, mosaic pavements that meet the marble columns and stone arches
How people can make such great music !
Is Rome worth one good man's life, we believed it once, make us believe it again! He was a soldier of Rome, HONOR HIM! Who will help me carry him?
I want to go to Rome someday and admire the beautiful architecture whilst I listen to this.
Nostalgie ❤️😭
"He was a soldier of Rome...Honor Him!" Roma Victor! Awesome soundtrack Hans Zimmer.
I cry everytime I listen to this music. I don´t know why its so moving for me.
Same here Monica Bianchi! Who will help me carry him?

الاسلام هو الدين الصحيح

I had this for my husbands funeral when his coffin was taken in. It’s a beautiful piece of music and just right for the love of my life when I had to say my final goodbye to him xxx miss him more each day and still can’t believe he has gone😢
💞 :(
Interstellar and Gladiator are amazing!!!
❤️
THANK U for this edit..now I don't have to keep rewinding to the 'honor him' part of this masterpiece....thnx for uploading
Np :)
Thank you for posting. What a great message in the movie to never give up. Each of us has a destiny to do right and our duty no matter how many trouble-makers wreak havoc.
Masterpiece!
I agree with you on that one!
This movie will never be forgotten. Even in this life or the next!
Wonderful!!! What an absolute masterpiece!
After years I come here and say that there will be no other film like this in the cinema, even if there is a sequel, it will not do honor to this work of art.
I must've seen this movie more than a hundred times... it's just perfect
My morning coffee! I turned productive every time I played this!
Love Love Love this, gives me goose bumps !!!!!!!!
Easily my favorite piece from the entire film. Gives me goosebumps. Also has that unmistakable Hans Zimmer sound, like in the song "A Way of Life" (another gem of his from the film The Last Samurai).
Музыка для души создана для того чтобы научиться любить предоность иметь совесть и никогда не придавать любимых людей оберегать и споминать ушедших кому ты был так дорог
This music is more proof that God made us, loves us, and wanted us to have beautiful things in our life
Hans Zimmer, the best, gladiator, the best!
Amen to that dude!
Hans Zimmer performing in Sydney May 2nd. I will be shedding many tears at that concert. Can't wait!
I have been looking for this for a few hours. Nice idea with this extended version. Strength & Honor ! And thumbs up !
