    DJ I thought you won this one. Most title defenses in flyweight history, 🐐

    • @pplRretards
      @pplRretards ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I absolutely agree as imo no matter how you wanna score who won what round. Just personally when it comes to taking a title, you gotta take that shit! Anything close as this where you could score almost half the rounds as a draw with no clear and decisive winner it should always go to the title defender! I also don't count those takedowns that DJ Granby rolled outta definitely when Cejudo is a god dam gold medal wrestler for as good as the takedowns was, the escape by granby rolls are by far more impressive! Lastly when guys are grappling and just laying on top not passing or attacking don't deserve any points as its just a draw and stalling cause like Cejudo said he wasn't gonna try to do anything knowing DJ would slip out so its just a stale mate to me! Sure you can look at it in one way that Cejudo is in control(which makes sense as a wrestler point of view) but really there are guys out there that are totally comfortable being on their back or even prefer to be on their back(like a BJJ grappler). That's like Anderson Silva who everyone always tried to take down then ground and pound cause how lethal Sulva was as a striker but Silva was extremely comfortable on his back not only Submission wise but Silva would use a body triangle which was very difficult to pass but also makes it difficult for the top opponent to posture up for any ground and pound. Silva would then strike his opponents with short elbows. With the body triangle Silva would either get his opponent to try and get back up to a standing position due to his short elbow strike off his back or to get the ref to restart the fight due to stalling. So just personally while it looks like it from most ppls point of view that the guy on top has control in all actuality tho it really is just a neutral position definitely when the guy on top isn't doing anything to advance or cause any damage.
      With that said I feel like DJ was more proud for Cejudo winning the if he had won also believe that losing to Cejudo allowed DJ to leave the UFC and expand his career and gave him more opportunities with ONE then he would've ever had with trash UFC! All in all it was a win for DJ as it was such a close decision and controversial that it don't belive its seen as a blemish on his phenomenal career and like I said it allowed him to go in and do greater things that have only improved his greatness!

    • @seeamoose
      @seeamoose ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Was going to comment this, cejudo is a favorite of mine but he’s admitted wrestlers on top are generally just stalling while looking busy.

    Honestly Henry winning the rematch was the best thing that could have happened. Because of this, Cejudo became a 2 weight champ with title defenses. Tj got popped for cheating. Dj got traded for Askren and became a champ in another organization, adding to his legacy. And Ben Askren gave us the fastest knockout in UFC history in his loss to Masvidal, later leading to Nate calling out Jorge for the BMF belt. Crazy to think 1 close fight could have cascaded into all of that.

    This is dope!
    Love seeing two absolute competitors able to compliment and critique their toughest opponent in such a humble manner!
    Haven’t checked out much of Demetrius’ content, but surely will following this!
    You guys are awesome!
    How amazing would this be to run back!

    This is so dope. So rare to see two absolute legends sit down to discuss their fight, let alone rewatch the film and break down the action and give insight into what they were thinking and feeling in the moment. And to do so in such a humble and objective way from both sides is awesome. Hands down the two greatest to ever compete in the weight class and there’s no ego involved in the analysis. It’s so cool that you guys have this kind of relationship/friendship and that you allow the fans to experience this with you.
    Much love and respect to you guys - best of luck going forward and can’t wait to watch you both add more accolades to your already legendary resumes!

    You can see the pride between one another, they’re pointing out each others weaknesse’s & effectiveness but letting the ego go because they’re friends and practitioners of martial arts.
    I love how both these guys show a lack of ego and acceptance, a lot of people need this discipline.

    Impressed by both of you. Throwing away ego for appreciation and competition and analysis while having fun. Not many world class champions can do what you guys are doing. Respect to you both. Some of the best to ever do it in the game. Cejudo, get that belt off Aljo, defend and then go for Volk!!!

  • @ottebya

    I think what I took away most from this is hearing the talk of looking for the challenges and the competition RATHER than the belts, the wins, the legacies, etc. One is an appreciation and love of the process and the experience while the others are the byproducts of that process
