Thanks for your video. I've done a couple of Marathons in my life so far--Tucson, Arizona, United States and Honolulu, Hawai'i. Congratulations on the accomplishment of your book! I'm new at Amazon. I'm doing a 5-Day Free Book Promotion and I'm already at #1 in an Amazon Free Books Best Seller category! Do you know if I can use the #1 Best Seller Badge for this accomplishment?

Hiya Kim thank you for the comment- great to hear from a fellow runner and writer, I've always wanted to do the Honolulu Marathon!
Big congratulations on releasing your book AND getting it to #1 on the free category. Technically you are topping the chart as a best seller, although does the tag show up on your product page? I recall my book only getting the Best Seller tag when it hit #1 in the paid categories.
That said, the interest surrounding your book is definitely there, so it might be worth planning for your next promotion a countdown deal accompanied by a big marketing push towards your network or niche's community. Most Best Seller's achieve the accomplishment through a coordinated push at a specific time (usually release but promotions are also effective, especially now you'll have reviews), and I think if you want to top a paid category that focussed marketing effort will definitely get you there. 👍

I'm hunkered down in a guesthouse room near Siem Reap, Cambodia during the Pandemic, so I have plenty of time to strategize and watch videos. That's exactly the plan I came up with! Already put July 8 on my calendar because that's when I can do the next Amazon promotion of my poetry book and it will be a 99 cent countdown! I'll look into the rest of your ideas. Thanks much. Oh! and two of my children's books are hitting #1 in Free Book categories today!
