Restless Heart sings "The Bluest Eyes in Texas" on Larry's Country Diner!

- Doesn't this song bring back memories? Van Stevenson from Blackhawk helped to write the song about a girl he met in Texas that he apparently couldn't forget. If she only knew her eyes would help send Restless Heart to the top of the charts in 1988!

The “Eagles” of country music. Hands down, the best country band ever.
Funny since they did a song by Timmy Schmidt 'tell me what you dream'
Eagles “New Kid in Town” contains the lyric “Restless Heart”. Always wondered if that’s where the band found their name.
Yes, you are correct. I have read where diamond Rio, Alabama, little Texas, Lonestar, Blackhawk, and a few others are comparable with restless heart ❤️. That is not true. While those other bands I mentioned are very good country bands they do not hold a candle to Restless Heart vocally. Larry Stewart, Paul Gregg and John Ditrich are on another level when it comes to harmonies and vocals. I have never heard a band get compared to the Eagles more than Restless Heart and there is a reason for that.
So them in Van Wert Ohio before they were even big stars. Incredible harmonies and musicians. Until Larry Stewart got the great idea to go solo. And how did that work out?
The guy in the beanie is their Joe Walsh!😆
Ohhhhh, the harmony and beautiful voices!!! I love this band.
We need a back to 90s country tour. Restless heart, shanendoah, Blackhawk, little texas,
I miss real Country music every day. Record labels killed it in the mid 1990's and it's never returned. I ride down the road listening to country from this era like it's still new on the radio.
Here at Larry's Country Diner we are doing our best to keep traditional country music alive! Be sure to subscribe for more!

Yup I keep my radio on prime country.
Amen to all!
That is how live music should sound
The most under rated country group ever! Should have won so many awards in their time!
Now let me tell you, that's a no excuse, professional, haven't lost a thing performance!!! Flawless!! These guys are probably 60 yrs old or more!! IMPRESSIVE 👍👍👍
Those harmonies!!!!! God, please let there be music like this in heaven.
Amen brother
One of the best songs ever, not just country but in any genre.
Their harmony melts me! Perfection
Just when I thought this song couldn’t get any better…….
A great version of a classic song. Also, Rest in peace to the guy in the sheriff's shirt.
Yes, the late great Jimmy Capps.
That Guy - Was The GREAT Jimmy Capps, Please read up on him :)
@@JessCorey thanks
My top song of all time
It's just so moving
Love the line golden hair
Larry is still the perfect voice for this group and music style.
In spite of all their fans and all their fame, they’re still one of the most underrated bands ever. One of the greatest.
When country bands were all DIFFERENT. 👍🏻❤️
Not near enough accolades and awards and certainly not enough music. They are an awesome group!
Beautiful
I ❤ You PAUL GREGG I Just ❤ The Way Your Voice Sounds/The Feeling It Sends Through Me When You Sing " Where Did I Go Wrong " Sure Wish I Could See/Hear You In REAL LIFE !!!
Saw these guys open for Kathy Matea back in the day. They were great.
Man, they STILL sound good. I don't know why this band didn't last.
The easy answer....America is getting dumber and dumber as time rolls on...all you have to do is listen to what passes as talent these days...At least we have our personal memories (mine include, but not limited to: Earl Thomas Conley, Eddie Rabbitt, Alabama, Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich, and sooo many others).
Larry Stewart, lead singer of the band, diva'd out and left for a failure of a solo career in the early 90's. With the notable exception of "When she cries," the hits dried up. That's the reason.
BarneeFife is just leaning on old man tropes.
Beautiful voices thank you jimmy Rest In Peace 👍🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the most underrated country bands out there. This song is just beautiful.
they weren't underrated at all, on the airwaves like crazy in the 80s and 90s.
I keep a USB in my car with several RH albums and several of Diamond Rio, Rascal Flatts The Buffalo Club and others that I sing parts with as I drive to gigs to warm up with. Certain parts of many of Restless Heart's arrangements have such a wide range that it's perfect for running through parts from low to high and Larry's voice sits in a very comfortable range to sing along without jumping into falsetto. I had the pleasure of being in bands that opened for RH and Diamond Rio on several occasions.
great song writing and a superb performance here.
I agree even in casual semi acapella style.
no one sings like this anymore
I always loved this song, still after all these years they still sound as perfect as in the day. Whenever hear this song though, to me it sounds like Little Texas...
Best voice in country music today ! Larry Stewart 😊
Larry's voice is very unique.
My Gawd, their harmony is still soooo good! 🎵
Great performance 😊
This is literally the best thing I've saw in a year! I absolutely love this song!
Larry can still bring it. Just great.
Oh thats brilliant. I love it. Thank you. Greetings from germany.
i would put these guys harmonies up against anyone. i was blessed to see them on my aircraft carrier in SAN DIEGO in 1993, the USS KITTY HAWK CV-63. TNN's 10th anniversary.
Interesting..... Notice the guy with the hat, next to Larry, sings "where did I go wrong.." and Larry isn't singing that part... Can anyone confirm if this is the case in the original song?
Paul Gregg is the man with the beanie on his head. Yes, he is an original member dating back to 1983 when the band first got together. He's the bass the player and sings those incredible high harmonies above Larry's lead vocal. He sang the "Where did I go wrong" part on the album as well. In fact, Paul is the distinctive high parts on all the albums that Restless Heart put out. John Ditrich is the drummer and lead vocalist of "When She Cries" and "Tell Me What You Dream" which were two incredible #1 hits for this amazing band. However, Paul Gregg is the best harmonizer in the band and probably in all of Nashville, Tennessee. Restless Heart is
Still, after all this time these guys are flawless! What a great step back in time!
WOW!! These guys still got the HARMONY!! LOVE LOVE LOVE their voices!! EPIC SONGS!!!
Paul Greggs vocal range is still so so smooth, like listening to butter melting in a pan, incredible.
Amazing performance, flawless
You guys are still amazing!. I would have loved to have been at one of your concerts.
A Great song and performance 👍😉
Spectacular! I am speechless! Might I add that the blend in their harmonies are the best that I have heard in a country rock band
Still sound great after all these years.
My absolute favorite Restless Heart Song...thank you guys...ALL of you for being so incredibly good and STILL here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The VERY best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
AWESOME
Sounds just as good as ever! Restless Heart has always been a much better band than they got credit for. A timeless, classic hit song!!
Where has this been the last two years?! Glad it was uploaded again. Probably the BEST live version of this song!
Such a great Song... Thank you and greetings from Germany
I love this song
Still one of the most beautiful songs ever performed. This song is absolutely perfection.
So beautiful!!
LOVE
Excellent
This is such a beautiful song. I first heard it in Boys Don't Cry the movie. When was this live version recorded? These guys rock!
Larry...great to catch this video and your stripped down versions of some of your songs. Big fan. I went to see a concert in Vancouver, and much to my disappointment, just that week you & the band had parted ways. Glad to see you back in the room together. Stunning song! ...I burned the grooves right of the LP years ago! It always (and still does) left my heart both empty & full at the same time. I think there is a songwriting standard here that ought to be a benchmark för those pursuing the 'show, don't tell' angle. I look forward to hearing more!
Still sound amazing!!
Brings back my childhood hearing them on the radio here in Dallas.
KPLX, KSCS, KYNG
Music. The bookmarks of our lives.
My favorite band of all time... I saw them in their last concert in Baton Rouge... A flawless 3 hour performance!
Just all around a great song ❤
Better, and not even close, better any of this bullshit today. Restless Heart! baby!
COME BACK
New Mexico moment. Only time they ever turned back before going to rattlesnake and scorpion lake. At least it's their lake.
Saw you guys maybe 10 years ago at the blue hill fair in Maine and got to speak to you guys and shake your hands also I still have the shirt with all your autographs love the music still! ❤
wow.... fantastic performance
wow, this is a sad old crowd, hafl them probally dont know it and the other half is here for the food!!!great song, band crowd!!!
Their voices are the same, doesn't sound like they lowered the key like most aging performers do.
Sure wish I could sing like any one of them.
How old are you, and who ever said you couldn't? just gotta learn, train and go for it.... "I wish" is a start.... I sang for 12 years and did gigs never cared about making it big....you can too go for it man!
YOU ALL HAVE GREAT VOICES AND SOUND AMAZING
Stil hot all thre cd's remember im from the Netherlands do it was import and Cost a lot of money ...stil have them ❤

I bet they could still put on a good concert
Beautiful music! 5/29/24
Timeless
Wow!! That was freaking amazing! Even better than the recorded track 30+ years ago. One of the best live performances I have ever watched.
Goddamnit I'd spend SO much of my hard earned money to hear this live with my own two ears but i live halfway across the globe. How lucky i was born in an era where there are ways to wnjoy music from anywhere though.
😲😲😲😲😲😲 They've still got it! He (lead singer) still looks about the same. 😊
His name is Larry Stewart, and the guy to his left is John Dietrich, and while John is better known as Restless Heart's drummer, that's him you hear singing lead on their song "When She Cries," while the guy to Larry's right sings lead on "Tell Me What You Dream."
@@joshuabrooks4907 I thought John sang tell me what you dream as well?
@@teal_panda_8434 I don't think he did. I could be wrong though.
@@joshuabrooks4907 I looked it up and he does. I thought so because to me he sounds like don Henley and tell me what you dream was a Timothy b Schmidt song lol
@@joshuabrooks4907 I like them harmonizing, but I like the songs Larry Stewart sings lead on, the best. Fast-Movin' Train, Dancy's something. Mostly the ballads.
Wow they are still very very good
Hey Larry, I see you've extended the size of your diner. Good for you. However, I still see many guests waiting for food! What gives?
If your in texas this is the song to listen to when your out in the middle of knowhere and just looking up at the nightly shy.
My favorite band ever.. And yes I have bluest eyes and lived in Texas with blonde hair
Love this song and the band also.
i love restless heart.
They are definitely not praised enough. Incredible group
Be still my heart…love Larry Stewart &Restless Heart!!!🎶♥️
