It's a cool stadium. I drove from Houston just to check it out. Center field seats have a blindspot but other than that I like it. It has more space than Minute Maid Park. That's the only thing that's better is the amount of space you have in the hallways.
Well firstly, let’s start by saying it’s not cursed by any means as the rangers just won the World Series. Secondly, as a local and a lifelong rangers fan, I hate the stadium. It’s ugly from every angle, it’s dark, and the audio is atrocious. The old Ballpark In Arlington was one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world. And they brought none of the great features over to the new stadium. The marble white arches in centerfield, the centerfield berm, the right field deck. In the new stadium the arches have been replaced by huge brick and blocks out all the natural sunlight. The batters eye berm has been replaced by just a giant green wall of nothingness. Giant waste of space. The ONLY thing the Globe has going for it is the air conditioning. Would have loved for them to just put a roof on the old stadium tbh.
I remember the day I walked into this stadium for the first time. September 20, 2022. Angels vs. Rangers. Was in a hurry because I was late meeting my friends behind the dugout. But I walked into the left field gate, walked up to the back row of seats. Absolutely awestruck. I adore this stadium. I go every chance I get.
I grew up going to the old park, but I'm thankful for the air-conditioning! The aesthetics outside, sure doesn't look that great. But, the fan experiences and things you can't see are SO IMPROVED! There's bars next door with a live entertainment, multiple TV's, shopping, hangout areas that are covered. It's become a really neat area for the fan experience and it's all connected with the park so you can just walk right in. The new park has much bigger walk ways, so it doesn't feel like asses and elbows walking around. I miss the look of the old park and it was a beautiful park, but I'll less good looking for 72 degrees everyday!
as a Rangers fan, THANK GOD for this stadium!! Air Conditioning is amazing. The old one was so hard for us to enjoy a baseball game when the sun is beaming on us
Name one other stadium that is industrial the way this one is. U can’t it’s and it’s literally not a bad thing what so ever. It sets it apart and is unique in my opinion. And that’s coming from me who’s a cubs fan and loved wrigly field. This stadium is perfectly fine.
I don’t know if you remember hurricane Harvey when the Astros could not get back into Houston and we had to play in Tampa because the Rangers said no to us. We just Got payback by sweep in there, but scoring 39 runs.
The hate on this ballpark is crazy, coming from an astros fan this venue is absolutely incredible, the only negative I think is that it doesn't have natural grass which is weird but everyone should have this ballpark on their bucket list
Curse BS man. The current stadium has a World Series banner to show for it. As fan of this team going to the games at the old ball park could be a tough experience and I can only imagine the toll on the players it was to play outdoors in the Texas summer. Also try getting FA’s to sign with the Rangers with an outdoor stadium. We have seen a huge change in that since the the new stadium has been built.
The new rangers stadium was hideous from the moment it was built. I don't know how that ugly-ass design passed. It would have been better just to spend the 500 million and put a roof over the old stadium, which is beautiful. They could have taken off the upper-deck to make room for the roof on the old stadium
My memory from the time that the various options were being studied and considered is that the "put a roof over the old stadium" option was going to be much more of an engineering nightmare than you make it sound.
The guys that designed and approved this stadium should be banned from baseball for life and used as an example to others on how to eff something up so bad
Yeah the old Stadium had so many unique features like the right field porch double deck grand stand columns that resemble the old parks the batters eye view of the long patch of grass in center field and the offices which brought the charm to the park.
Since the Cotton Bowl will be demolished in 2026, The Texas Rangers should relocate to Dallas, at Cowboy Country Fair Park neighborhood as Neo Choctaw Stadium
I live near Ft. Worth and have been to all 3 Rangers stadiums. Of course, the first one was a built up minor league stadium. The second one was awesome and truly a great place to see a baseball game. It is now called Choctaw Stadium and primarily hosts high school football games. I often wonder how long it can stay like that. The current stadium (Globe Life Field) is great for the weather (I’ve been in there when it was 38 degrees and raining, as well as over 100 degrees with thunderstorms). In the summer, the Rangers love to announce the outside temps and then remind the fans that it is a nice 72 degrees inside. With that aside, it is just ok for me. It doesn’t have the same character as Globe Life Park did. What I really don’t understand is how many obstructed view seats there are here and quirky angles. There are actually seats that you can have blocked views of both scoreboards and partially of the field. You would think that with modern architectural designs, this wouldn’t even be an issue. I’m also not a fan of the artificial turf in there after enjoying the natural grass at Globe Life Park. In the end, I do have to wonder how this stadium will hold up over time. Interestingly enough, with the big translucent window that this has on the 3rd base side of the stadium, it reminds me of American Family Field in Milwaukee somewhat, and we see what issues they are having there right now.
Old Turnpike Stadium was the best stadium in MLB. Pay 5 bucks for an outfield seat and be so close to the field you could talk to the players…so small you were in the game. Got Ryan’s autograph tossing a ball and pen to him while he was stretching on the warning track. No need for binoculars anywhere in that stadium
Inside, lovely ballpark. A batters eye and right field lower bowl renovation would make this stadium perfect aesthetically in my eyes (I am a rangers fan so this may be biased) I do miss the right field 2nd deck and center field offices and overall design from globe life park (now Choctaw Stadium) but us Texans do not miss the heat and that’s the overall purpose this ballpark serves- getting butts in seats to watch our team choke as opposed to paying Bally (Worst Company Ever) I’ve been to 9 games this season (most I’ve ever attended (partially due to me not having Bally sports) there really isn’t a bad seat from section 27 to the 300’s but the blimp like exterior and overall outside aesthetics are atrocious for 2023 and a new 1 billion dollar ballpark (mainly just from that front POV w the logo on the blimp like roof)
Totally disagree with you. It's a tremendous facility with great sight lines, not a bad seat in the house, decent foods, easy to get to, no rain outs/rain delays and available parking within the complex. (Sits next to the previous stadium and a short distance from Jerry's World. Six Flags too. I highly recommend it.
The ironic part is that it sits right next to one of nicest stadiums in all of sports, Cowboy Stadium. Also the exterior of the Ballpark in Arlington was absolutely gorgeous with the brick work but Globe Life looks like a warehouse covered in aluminum siding. There’s just nothing nice about this stadium at all
I grew up going to Astros games at MMP, and have also been to a couple games at old Globe Life. Honestly i think old Globe Life was nothing short of amazing. The place is beautiful- it’s a shame it didn’t last long
I fucking hate the "Texas Toolshed". The Ballpark in Arlington was a wonderful stadium full of atmosphere and energy, and Globe Life Field is a downgrade in every way possible except for the AC. Sure the AC is nice, but I'd rather go to a game in the Ballpark in 107-degree weather (which I've done before) than go to the new stadium. I still maintain that the reason why Globe Life Field is cursed is because of the decision to move away from the Ballpark.
"but I'd rather go to a game in the Ballpark in 107-degree weather (which I've done before)" Maybe YOU would prefer that, but too many other people did not... no one wants to bring their kids to a ballpark that's like a f--king oven from June to September. You need people in the seats, and too often that was not the case in the old stadium during the summer months.
Lol. Yeah yeah yeah. It’s not the prettiest looking stadium and it does look a warehouse from the outside. But anyone who lives in the DFW area knows it’s hotter than hell in the summer months. We Ranger fans been waiting for a stadium like this for 50 years so we can actually enjoy watching a MLB baseball game around here. And I’m sure the players on both sides love it too!
i live in dallas as the typical rangers fan. the new stadium is so ugly, half the metroplex thinks it is. such a downgrade from the real rangers stadium. that being said, the inside of globe is fine, it looks cool but the exterior was a huge mistake
I went to a game at the open air stadium in 2019, I couldn’t believe they were building a new stadium, it’s an ugly stadium but I think AT&T is ugly too
the whole sun debate is non existent. ive been to ton of games in the summer and its fine. fans still show up and have been for decades. the sun is not an issue when the rangers are playing good at any giving year. i dont buy the sun claim bc i actually live in the area
Yeah they've played in Arlington Stadium from 1972 to 1993 heat was never an issue and it was never an issue when they build The Ball park in Arlington I get it retractable roofs weren't really a thing back then but Toronto was the first retractable roof which opened in 1989 which Rangers could've got in 1994 but didn't.
Having been to the stadium a few times, it's nice. The fans appreciate the air conditioning for sure. It's not special, but it's not bad either. I do believe that if the previous ballpark was oriented northeast instead of southeast, it would have been okay since there would have been more shade.
As a Ranger fan it’s not appealing in or out and you hit a lot of things right on the dot. But OMG is it so much better than sitting in the grueling Texas heat! When the As move to Vegas I don’t see how you can build that ballpark without it being inside.
Same architect designed Es Con Field in Hokkaido Japan for the Nippon Ham Fighter and that stadium looks amazing. That said, Globe Life Field doesn’t look that bad and it’s got some great amenities inside.
The first problem in life is when you start listing to people with bad ideas like "hey lets build a new stadium when we already have one" The old stadiums have character and tradition, and the new stadiums are all shit. The only people who love new stadiums are rich owners, rich developers and the city council and mayor who get paid off
Entitled to your opinion and all but, did you actually pay attention to the video. This stadium wasn't built just to build a new one. The old stadium was beautiful, but no one went to the games between the middle of June to the middle of September because it was just too f--king hot. Fans would roast in those seats. (I know, because I tried more than once.) Simply can't play baseball in an open air stadium in the Texas summer and expect the fans to show up. THAT'S why this stadium was built. I agree that it's no where near as pleasing aesthetically, but people can go to the games and enjoy the experience, which is really all that matters.
The old ballpark was actually designed to have a roof on it, they just ran out of money during construction to finish it. It actually would've been very easy and feasible to simply renovate it and put a roof on
This aged well. So cursed the Rangers won The World Series. They made it in the Globe but couldn't smell the playoffs at the original Arlington stadium. The outside looks like a giant barn but the inside is great. The inside is where what matters. Also you could put any baseball stadium next to AT&T and it's going to pale in comparison. The Globe is now Chactow stadium and is used for concerts also. The new park also has no problem with attendance because you don't feel like you're melting at first pitch because it's not ever over 100 degrees in their roof open or closed. The only Ranger fans who don't like it are the people that think no baseball should be played indoors.
I like the KC stadium idea where the (dome) arch is completely seperate from the stadium. The arch sits on the ground. The stadium could be completely reconfigured without touching the arch.
In the DFW metroplex, all of our new houses have those ugly trapezoidal roofs too - albeit they may not be made of metal. It is just part of the culture down here, I guess!
Saaaayyyy Whaaaa??? The new Rangers ballpark is a gem! Definitely top 10 and in a discussion to be the best ever. I haven't been to the new Nippon Ham Fighters stadium yet but this one looks very similar. I like their scoreboard designs better and their roof looks like wood Japanese traditional architecture but Globe Life has a ballpark village with Texas Live, PBR club etc and it looks like they are building more fun stuff. Wish they would gut the old stadium just keeping the outer shell, offices and build a couple of high rise affordable condo towers with parking inside in it maybe with an arena for the hockey team.
I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about. The old park was waaaay too hot. Games were miserable. The new ballpark is great. Everyone that goes there loves the new one compared to the old one. I guess I get the exterior hate, but I don’t go to games to stare at the outside of the stadium
It's just terrible. Everyone talks about how it was somehow needed because it gets oh so hot here, but it gets just as hot in Atlanta and the Braves have never needed an indoor stadium. And oh look - the Braves continue to be the best team in baseball playing out in the heat while the Rangers are enduring a collapse I was told by everyone would never happen again once they got air conditioning. Doesn't help that the owners hate baseball and baseball fans and have made the place as not fun as possible.
Stop the BS. Dallas is much hotter than Atlanta in the summer time. Atlanta is like 88-92 during the summer, and in Dallas we just had 40 straight days of over 100. Prior to Globe Life Field being opened every other city with summer heat comparable to Dallas played indoors.
@@Damianoutlaw I didn't even mention Miami, which won the World Series TWICE in climate I know is even WORSE than in DFW because of the humidity, and they, like the Rangers, have been total garbage since getting their precious indoor stadium. Teams that play indoors, because they get soft, typically lose lose lose and LOSE - unless they cheat like the Astros.
I think the biggest issue is the exterior. It just looks like a FCS dome in South Dakota. The inside looks nice to me. The roof looks simple, but perhaps simple means fewer issues.
The new stadium sucks . I think they were looking for a few restaurants to come finish out a few spots and COVID hit . Either way the old one was and is much better except for the sun in the summer. Beltre 3000 was a beat down
"except for the sun in the summer" -- Lol... you say that like it's a minor thing. Did you ever actually go to a day game in the summer in the previous stadium? It was murder. Place was beautiful, but it was an oven from June to September.
I loved the design of The Ballpark in Arlington. I watched my Rangers play there throughout my childhood. A retractable roof and climate control were a definite must. The Ballpark in Arlington was built in 1994 when there was a resurgence of nostalgia for the old ballparks. That was a big factor in its design using brick and the inclusion of the right field grand stands. Besides the open air ballpark paying homage to the olden days, retractable roofs at the time were not mainstream. I hate that they put aluminum bench seats in right field which gives it the feel of a middle school football stadium. That being said, the climate controlled interior of the new ballpark is a godsend. I have no doubt attendance went up because we fans wouldn’t have to endure 105° heat. The roof is bland but the entrances and interior, basically everything the fans see and interact with, are great. I appreciate that they incorporated brick columns and large windows to let in natural light in the left field. Karbach sky porch is great. Watching the game in the rocking chairs is a good experience. The addition of high tables and the children’s corner in upper deck third baseline is awesome. I think his review of the stadium focuses too much on the roof.
To each their own, but in my humble opinion this is definitely a step up from the old stadium. I think the inside of the park looks great and the Texas Live! area is always bustling. Great food and drinks options as well. No complaints from me, though I will agree the outside looks somewhat lackluster

Globe Life Field should become an Indoor Arena for Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area teams
Choctaw Stadium can work Perfectly for the Super Bowl
lol
I went to Globe Life Field earlier this summer to me the interior looked like a giant arena rather than a ballpark.
Arlington Stadium? That's the REAL "old park".
It looks like a warehouse from the outside. Reminds me of the twa dome in St. Louis or a suburban ice hockey rink.
as a Rangers fan, THANK GOD for this stadium!! Air Conditioning is amazing. The old one was so hard for us to enjoy a baseball game when the sun is beaming on us
The old stadium has the best looking exterior of any stadium.
The new one looks like an industrial park.
Yep. The Curse of Hurricane Harvey. Go Stros! Lol
Well, anyone not wanting to play games in Houston that year kind of look like geniuses now (trash can)
"We"....LOL....Do you play for the Astros???? Houston fans are funny.
We got payback by winning the World Series
The hate on this ballpark is crazy, coming from an astros fan this venue is absolutely incredible, the only negative I think is that it doesn't have natural grass which is weird but everyone should have this ballpark on their bucket list
It looks like a warehouse building from the outside
Curse BS man. The current stadium has a World Series banner to show for it. As fan of this team going to the games at the old ball park could be a tough experience and I can only imagine the toll on the players it was to play outdoors in the Texas summer. Also try getting FA’s to sign with the Rangers with an outdoor stadium. We have seen a huge change in that since the the new stadium has been built.
All I know is the roof creates awful shadows in mlb the show when it’s open and sunny, who the hell thought that was a good idea
I’ve only been to a few mlb stadiums, including the old globe life park, and I have to say… they should’ve stayed and put a roof on it, this is ugly
Its not the worst. But its a wierd environment to watch a game. Its like watching a game inside a Walmart.
It looks like an airplane hangar from the outside. And as hot as it gets in DFW they should have built a circular domed stadium like the Astrodome was
The guys that designed and approved this stadium should be banned from baseball for life and used as an example to others on how to eff something up so bad
Looks pretty ugly from the outside and generic on the inside. It's sad considering how great the old stadium was.
Yeah the old Stadium had so many unique features like the right field porch double deck grand stand columns that resemble the old parks the batters eye view of the long patch of grass in center field and the offices which brought the charm to the park.
We call it the George Foreman Grill.
Since the Cotton Bowl will be demolished in 2026, The Texas Rangers should relocate to Dallas, at Cowboy Country Fair Park neighborhood as Neo Choctaw Stadium
This stadium will be out of date in less then 10 years. The outside is already outdated
April night games would have be good to have at the ole ball park
Lol... yeah, that's about the only time during the baseball season when the temps are reasonable.
Bro just get over your nostalgia
Honestly the translucent window reminds me more of minutemade park than anything else...
A batters eye and right field lower bowl renovation would make this stadium perfect aesthetically in my eyes (I am a rangers fan so this may be biased) I do miss the right field 2nd deck and center field offices and overall design from globe life park (now Choctaw Stadium) but us Texans do not miss the heat and that’s the overall purpose this ballpark serves- getting butts in seats to watch our team choke as opposed to paying Bally (Worst Company Ever)
I’ve been to 9 games this season (most I’ve ever attended (partially due to me not having Bally sports) there really isn’t a bad seat from section 27 to the 300’s but the blimp like exterior and overall outside aesthetics are atrocious for 2023 and a new 1 billion dollar ballpark (mainly just from that front POV w the logo on the blimp like roof)
There’s just nothing nice about this stadium at all
Now that the Rangers have a World Series title? I don't think Globe Life Field is cursed anymore...
It is fun to see how much the Astros love to play in this new park...
Globe Life Field reminds me of one gigantic waterbed financed on a payday loan.
😂😂
Is it weird that I feel the old Rangers stadium was way better?
Prettier.......but hotter
Great video, aged well.
I grew up going to Astros games at MMP, and have also been to a couple games at old Globe Life. Honestly i think old Globe Life was nothing short of amazing. The place is beautiful- it’s a shame it didn’t last long
Honestly a perfect word to describe this stadium is “cooler.” It looks like a cooler, and it acts like one
"but I'd rather go to a game in the Ballpark in 107-degree weather (which I've done before)"
Maybe YOU would prefer that, but too many other people did not... no one wants to bring their kids to a ballpark that's like a f--king oven from June to September. You need people in the seats, and too often that was not the case in the old stadium during the summer months.
from the outside it looks like an indoor shopping mall
The dome in Arlington is absolutely necessary. Ridiculously hot and humid.
i live in dallas as the typical rangers fan. the new stadium is so ugly, half the metroplex thinks it is. such a downgrade from the real rangers stadium. that being said, the inside of globe is fine, it looks cool but the exterior was a huge mistake
PEOPLE LUV HATING ON K.C., BUT COPY OUR STYLE👑K.C. WAS THE FIRST CITY TO HAVE A SPORTS COMPLEX☝️
Life-long Rangers fan here. It’s not as pretty as the old stadium, but the A/C is necessary for Texas in the summer.
Same.
@@briancalifornia1 The outdoor heat has always been an issue with the Rangers.
Having been to the stadium a few times, it's nice. The fans appreciate the air conditioning for sure. It's not special, but it's not bad either. I do believe that if the previous ballpark was oriented northeast instead of southeast, it would have been okay since there would have been more shade.
My dude pulled out a photo of TBiA as “Ameriquest Field”… that’s a rare one right there!
As a Ranger fan it’s not appealing in or out and you hit a lot of things right on the dot. But OMG is it so much better than sitting in the grueling Texas heat! When the As move to Vegas I don’t see how you can build that ballpark without it being inside.
He complains non-stop about how the Stadium looks on the outside. Fine - go roast in the Texas heat outside instead of air conditioned comfort.
It only looks bad from far away. When you walk up to it, it’s a beautiful stadium, and the interior is top tier.
The old ballpark was actually designed to have a roof on it, they just ran out of money during construction to finish it. It actually would've been very easy and feasible to simply renovate it and put a roof on
They Won the World Series and are defending Champions..The Stadium didnt hurt them!😅🎉❤
This aged well.
I’m convinced this team is cursed
The old park is Choctaw Stadium now
So Fi opened during Covid as well
The new park looks like a warehouse when the roof is closed
Maybe they need yet a third try to get it right. Building on the outside looks just dreadful.
@@RD-jc2eu old stadium was horrible for day games . I was there beltre 3000
I guess it's no longer cursed.
I don't see why MLB doesn't just mandate retractable roofs for all new MLB stadiums? Completely ruling out games being canceled due to rain...
I've been three a dozen times and on the inside it's fantatsic. I does feel though like you are going to a shopping mall!
To each their own, but in my humble opinion this is definitely a step up from the old stadium. I think the inside of the park looks great and the Texas Live! area is always bustling. Great food and drinks options as well. No complaints from me, though I will agree the outside looks somewhat lackluster
Wanna rethink this one now? 😂 🎉🎉🎉
