Useful video. One thing I'd add is before starting the car, turn the ignition on and check all the dash lights illuminate, especially error/check engine lights, and that they then go off once you start it. Unscrupulous sellers can hide engine faults by removing the bulb/soldering a resister to disable that and hide the fault.
Massive thanks to stealth brothers for the great intel! Without your guidance I would have made a terrible investment on a 2010 FN2 Type R GT which I am happy I did NOT buy!!! Keep it moving forward bruvs.
thats a top guide to buying a car, i do most of the things you do, and i take my time, because it's my money i have to part with, lucky that jack never landed on your foot, and i hate that sub frame click, it's easy enough to fix, brother i would deffo go for a double din, especially now that the android double dins have come a long way since they first came out, you would just need a double din facia and a connects 2 wiring kit, brother keep up the good videos, i always look forward to one of your videos to come out
+Jay Khan thank you brother. Glad you enjoi the channel. Yeah was thinking that when the jack fell would've broken my toe lol. Yeah I need one of those double dins. The android ones are great now the prices are down. Thanks again for the comment bro 👊
laughing me fucked up 4 the jack that fell!!!😂😂😂 But great vid bro!! keep it coming! I also have a FN2, got it 3months now. 2007 Red GT model. 94 000km on the clock. much luv from CAPE TOWN, South Africa 🙋
illie 33 haha thanks for the comment brother. Lucky didn't hit my foot 😂. Nice to hear your loving the car and vids brother. South Africa that's awesome thanks for tuning in 👊
Hey man, thanks for the quality content, keep the videos coming! Would love to upgrade from my punto to a type r this summer. Gonna keep researching and hopefully get a good deal. Cheers, Danny
+dannyboie9 that's awesome news brother. My first car was a punto 😁 you'll love the type r just keep patient when the time comes you'll be glad you waited for the right one trust me. Such sick cars.
I would definitely buy an aftermarket double din / sat nav if I could. I have the GT model with the factory built in sat nav so if i remove the stereo I will be left with a big blank screen above lol
+Ryan Davies cheers brother. Yeah there such good cars. And it's just the gt models that have the folding mirrors buddy 👍 although some can have a mod done quite easily to make them fold.
Do these feel quick enough? I'm in the market for my second car as I want more speed (currently have a 2 litre BMW) my cheaper options are this or a Subaru WRX, trying to see if I can buy something like this outright before I have to finance sometimes else.
Hi mate. Love the videos. Glad to have just joined the Fn2 club myself. Wish I had joined it before! My car has 63 k on clock and fsh, 2 owners. Just had service from dealer I bought from and I want to get the valve clearances and transmission fluid changed. When should the cam belt/chain be done and also the auxiliary belt that I can see on left of engine? Cheers
+Nicholas May hi mate awesome you've joined the fn2 movement 👊 yeah good to get the valve clearances checked. Aslong as these cars are well serviced the chain should last the lifetime of the engine. All belts and the chain will be checked up on when you take it in for a major service at the recommended 75k miles mark. These cars are bulletproof when looked after man. Such good cars. 👊👊
+Matty Abbey cheers man really appreciate the support. EBay seems to be a hotspot of your not going genuine. There are some genuine mugen sand a good selection on there. Other wise I'd go directly to the manufacturers i.e. Mugen or feels who do some nice parts for them too. www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.hondatwincam.co.jp/&ved=0ahUKEwi70qrkloHTAhXLAMAKHWqwDyYQFggdMAA&usg=AFQjCNHU2j3TJLGtmyaxIoejgt5AmWf0-w&sig2=YnC2B-UwYGWNYQMKTa98pw
Shaz Ali you could do but not fully necessarily computers sometimes take you away from the feel of the car. If there was some sort of warning light on I'd use it then of ask the owner to sort it of knock some money off brother
The engines in these are pretty bulletproof, if you follow the instructions in this video and there's nothing wrong you'll be fine. I've seen examples with 200k miles that still drive strong.
Mate the one reason you drive a car is to see if there is any knocks etc in the suspension so what you on about it’s best to check by just turning the wheel at a standstill, you can’t hear any noises from the springs and the actual shock if it ain’t moving
State the obvious doesn’t everyone go on a test drive ? However Top mounts bearings make a prominent noise at standstill and fade as your moving as there’s less strain on them once rolling. It’s a well known fact 😎
If someone turned up to view a car I was selling with a tool kit expecting to be taking things off my car I’d tell them to jog on 😂 not because I have anything to hide, it’s just a bit odd. Mot testers aren’t allowed to remove stuff from your car to check it over so what gives you the right? 😂
When warm put the car in reverse and at tickover with the handbrake on slowly release the clutch. The engine should start to stall. If it squeals the clutch is on the way out.

Fn2 is a cousin to the Fg2 civic Si Coupe in Canada/'Murica ..
Love my K20Z3
Nice video just recently bought my fn2 after having a ep3 love the car and also do all fn2s have electric folding mirrors?
+Ryan Davies cheers brother. Yeah there such good cars. And it's just the gt models that have the folding mirrors buddy 👍 although some can have a mod done quite easily to make them fold.
I am thinking of swapping my EP3 for the fn2... u still think you made the right choice?
Do these feel quick enough? I'm in the market for my second car as I want more speed (currently have a 2 litre BMW) my cheaper options are this or a Subaru WRX, trying to see if I can buy something like this outright before I have to finance sometimes else.
Did you end up buying one of these or something else?
Great video dude keep up the good work 🙂
Thanks brother you make sense keep going you doing well good luck
These are checks for any car not the Honda
About to join the fn2 club, any chance you could share the checklist in here so i have it to hand.

Loving these videos buddy! Do you know of any other places to get a spoiler from for the fn2's?

is it better to take the computer reader from car system plug in to laptop in case
Shaz Ali you could do but not fully necessarily computers sometimes take you away from the feel of the car. If there was some sort of warning light on I'd use it then of ask the owner to sort it of knock some money off brother
Stealth Brotherz thanks brother good video thinking to get one but wanted to know more and the jack fell didn't expect that bit keep the videos coming
You should always bring a obd scanner, there might not be a light on the dash but sometimes there are still codes there
Hi mate, when does the vtec kick in?
5400
Great video, hopefully picking at a champion white edition with 84k on the clock, hoping it's a good one because it's 200 miles away!!!
Do you have to press the clutch in when starting it?
No
Great vid brother g
Cheers for the comment brother.
cheers mate, good vid.
Did you take off the Front cabin splitter why because I just bought Black one would like to no thank you keep up video
I would have died if the dog pissed on the wheels lolll
Dat dog gonna piss on your Front mags Dr Stealth!😆😆😆
Is it still worth picking up a 2007 model at 90k miles?
I would like to know this too
The engines in these are pretty bulletproof, if you follow the instructions in this video and there's nothing wrong you'll be fine. I've seen examples with 200k miles that still drive strong.
What's the price range on one of those fn2 type r??????

+MrDirkles hahah I know the dogs just love the camera. Keep sneaking in to the shots hahah 😂
Where did you get the R centre caps from mate?
Hey bro where did you get the R wheel cap cover?
Ebay

Just bought one & the clutch on mine's really heavy. Are they all like that or just mine 😢😂???
Changing the clutch fluid helps, it did with mine
VERY common
Mine is the same & I've drove another one & that was the same again
didn’t use any of the tool kit 😞
Hi mate, music name?
Do this in south Africa you'll be kicked off the premises😂 especially if it's a private sale
Lol... I was thinking that same thing😂
What about a OBD2 device to check for error codes bro. Great video though.
most important check before going to see any car is to get an hpi check on it only costs about £5...
steve b yes always do hpi check, if reg is on display in ad I do it before travelling
When warm put the car in reverse and at tickover with the handbrake on slowly release the clutch. The engine should start to stall. If it squeals the clutch is on the way out.
Wouldnt be jacking my car up with that 2 quid trolley jack scratching all my powder coating.
Non gt are only 2007 I think anyway
forgot too mention some of these fn2's suffer with the dreaded roof rust issue along the windscreen seal ,another one for the check list..
steve b - yep your right, the only ones hat got away from the roof rust is the ones with the Panoramic roof (Non Type R’s ?)
Let’s hope the cars more reliable than that jack 😂😂😂
Top tip take your sunglasses of when checking things over yah dafty
Nice eyes.
