😁👍 It's a BEAST!! I got tired of arrma always releasing 4x4 all mostly the same stuff all the time.. I think arrma will learn a big lesson by making this gorgon they look to be selling like hot cakes big and expensive is not always the best... something simple and fun is ware it's at!
I agree 100%
Love these got 1 I put 3s esc 3s lipo brushed
Excellent review and a fantastic r/c. I picked mine up, ran it stock, then put in a spare BLX100 and 3200kv set up from Arrma. Runs like a beast. For those of us who grew up on Tamiya and Kyosho in the 80s, this is a throwback to the Blackfoot, Monster Beetle, Big Bear, Big Brute, etc...the classic 2wd monster truck r/cs that were a bit clumsy, but actually taught you how to drive. 4wd is great if all you want to do is "send it", but if you want to learn how a car actually works and become a skilled driver, 2wd is the best.
Did you keep the 13t pinion?
Since the Hobbywing Fusion Pro is only 1800 kv, I had to move up to a 17t pinion
2300kv*
Kevin Talbot only destroyed his by ramming 6s down it's throat. The trans and diffs took 6s brushless, which was surprising. It seems like a worthy RC.
Hopefully they come out with a 2s brushless model, everything else the same for $200. That would be killer 👍
Great Rig @ a Great Price ! Right in time for Christmas!
You got that right!
Arrma rules
Knocked it out of the little league park with this one!
I saw it and i bought it. I took a 120 Ampere HW ESC and a 3660 brushless motor 3200kv and drive on 3s. This car is awesome, so much fun.
One of the best rc cars in 2023 i think.
Looks like a fun truck. Interesting to see you fitted the Fusion to a basher, not seen anyone else do that before. Great idea.
Make ur sound higher when ur talking over running footage or make the footage audio lower.
Sir, did u think i can use HW Quicrun Wp1080 with the stock motor? To use 3s lipo..
Definitely will work.
All my 1080s on 3s...wit basic motors
Mine has the 3900kv motor, dxl3 radio, 100a firma esc, 3s lipo, wheelie bar, 40 wt shock oil, arrma reciever box, stock 13t pinion and 61 spur..body is shoegoo'd.....very fast
Can you bolt up the 3660 out of the 3s Infraction? I might have a swap this winter if I go 4s in the Infraction
Nice driving. Great to see that there are RC Car Reviewers who do not need to shout all the time.
Hi , awesome review , what kv is the fusion upgrade ?
This is another great upgrade review. I think it's ver innovative and hopefully other manufacturers will follow suit. I have one and Like it a lot. I am sure they made a flimsy body to save money. I don't think it's lean. They sell replacement pre[ainted bodies with some extra parts you probably won't need for about $60. The unpainted body is $40. I have seen a few reviewers who have broken the servo saver, but most like yourself most have driven it hard and nothing happens to to. I think the biggest drawback is the charger included if you buy it with the battery and charger. It takes forever to charge. So, Christmas morning a youngster will have to wait hours to run it. I believe the chassis is an upgraded version of the Voltage. I think your comparison of all the small scale trucks for the same price is one of the most important parts of your comments. Thanks for this update.
How was the Fusion Pro tuned with the 13 parameters? Does anyone know what the new settings are?
Dub over your drive footage with a mic during edit. Your review and insight was solid but I struggled to hear you 😕
What do you recommend for a brushless setup for the arrma Gorgon
Ho to reinforce the Body? Some special tape in the inside?
Awesome rig I plan to order the black kit soon
Much happiness will happen after.
looks like a fun truck frist thing i would would shoe glue the body
Shoe goe and that reinforcement tape
@@RCReviewChannel yep dry wall tape
Great reviews on this. Trying to find the 140 version but gotta wait I guess…lol. I didn’t realize you are a Bay Area boy… me too… San Francisco.
You put $150 of electronics into a $140 car? I don't get it. Am I missing something? Why not just get a 3s blx or similar at that point?
I'm just showing the upgrade path. A kid or a newb gets in for $140. They can stick with that and have fun or upgrade a little and know the vehicle is capable.
The $150 motor is a crawler motor I had lying around. Others can get a little basher brushless for a lot less.
I totally get, it's a pretty sweet car! I'm picking one up for the young kids. I think a 3s blx could get a little dangerous with the little ones 😎 I recognize that spot you were at. I'm in the Bay as well. Great channel BTW 🤙
Wish they had more colors with no battery
So true!!!!!
I'd really like to see how you have the fusion pro programmed.. great video!
Coming soon!
@@RCReviewChannel awesome I'll watch for it.. thanks!
Tiiiny other "con" : When driving in wet conditions on fine sand (The beach) the rear sliders tend to bind into a complete lock. The rear drive shafts are a tight fit already, but with sand and mud, they lock-up. I kept wondering why the rear stayed stuck so low.. Well. There was my answer.
The damper shafts are a bit soft too. I already bent one. Truth be told, a friend slammed into the Gorgon's rear with a Rustler.. and they are (alarmingly) easy to straighten-out in a vise. So there's that. For the rest of it? Daayumm.. that thing is crazy tough. Give it a 3665 3000kv brushless, dampers with 4mm shafts and máybe an aluminium servo saver, and only utter idiots will be able to break it. (apart from the body. That seems to be PVC, given the fact that bends and dents turn white on the edges.)
Audio mixing during the driving portions was off. I had a hard time hearing you speak when the car was ripping around.
Awesome beast for an amazing price💪👌😉❤️🔥
A 3665 motor fits great, pokes pit the side a little but that lets the wires clear and allows for adjustment fpr different size pinions.
Try removing the rear wheels before trying to replace the motor. That will make it easier.
Can it definitely take 3s that brushed motor try it out
Nice truck rc. That's one I want to play with.
Hi, this is the 2300kv fusion pro, right?
Can you share with us the settings you used to set this motor up?
Great video. Unfortunately, it is NOT "unbreakable". I've already come across three reports of the chassis breaking (more like snapping in half) in the exact same spot - where the motor is.
But what caused it? Sending it 30 ft in the air? From what I'm seeing with these, everyone is already doing more than what these were designed for.
I think am keeping my 1 brushed :) Old school model tho running 3s esc 3s battery
Good call
Boas poderia dizer a lista de material usou oara o upgrade do carro..belo carro
It’s a shame my Tamiya costs me $1000😂
About time Arrma. Very coolio😅😊
Another beast from arrma💪👌🤩
TRADED A TWO IN ONE FOR A TWO IN ONE
“[…] once you want to change the receiver, you need to change the ESC.” This is incorrect. The gorgon manual includes clear instructions on how to use an external RX. The words “external RX” are also on the esc sticker. Don’t misinform your viewers.
You can do that but there's really no point. The stock transmitter/receiver is excellent but the ESC is very poor at only 2s. This car and motor is soooo much better on 3s.
@@RCReviewChannel Perhaos there’s no point for you, but surely there’s a point to it for some others, especially those with a multimodel radio who carry out upgrades incrementally. I personally like to trust the information I hear from YTers I watch, and hope to make informed decisions based on what they say, is all. Want to keep watching your takes, too.
Can I use a 540 brushless motor
Nope. Not long enough.
Wonderful review!!
Glad you liked it!
Do you think a VXL would fit
I think so. It looks long enough and the wires are far enough back.
@@RCReviewChannel cool cause I have a spare one all I need is a castle sidewinder 3 esc
I tried, without taking the Dremel to the chassis it wouldn't work.
Id love a 4WD version under $200
Kevin Talbot destroyed it.
It takes skill and determination to wreck this one!
@@RCReviewChannel Not really when it comes to a brasher!
It took running it on 6s to destroy it. Lol.
On 6S power, which is definitely not what these are designed for, plus Talbot deliberately tries to wreck anything from Arrma, because he is a Traxxas fan boy.
@@Hombre632 I think he's pretty honest about his opinion of the not so great Traxxas models. He openly hated the xrt and said he preferred the outcast.
A 2 wheel drive monster truck is a fail.
They're hitting a budget, low, price point and that is not easy. Big win here IMHO.
@@RCReviewChannel low prices are hard to get to I agree and appealing. Being around full size trucks and rc trucks… 2wd monster trucks are a let down.
I've got 6s 4 wheel drives on road and off road, crawlers, boats, drift cars, and I've still had more fun with this on 3s brushless than anything else I've played with.
@@cd-pu5uv I didn’t say it wasn’t going to be fun.
@@Djkommode if it's fun, and cheap, how is it a fail? Have you driven one?
It will only last a few months until your brushless motor will break the cheap plastic motor mount/chassis. This truck is just a redesign of their old cheap 2wd truck that sold for $100. Super disappointing won't last long. Save your money and buy a 3s truck.
😂😂😂😂
This is the same park that @razorrc films at
Yes, he lives close by and we rc together at times.
🤔 see if u can do a 4x4 conversion on this
That will be very difficult to do and at the end of the day... not so good. :)
@@RCReviewChannel 🤔 oh ok ok i got u
Be tough with that motor sitting where it is in the chassis.
@@shuster1921 really 🤔 yeah im a total rookie lol
that park and the neighborhood looks really nice
Thank you. Cupertino, CA. Home of Apple Computer.
@@RCReviewChannel 😀 cool lol
