I’ll never forget the night John McBaseball closed out his no hitter to win the world series for Orchid Bay. I cried. My father shed a single tear then told me to calm down. It was beautiful. Thank you for building him a memorial.
Glad you felt the same way about the bridges going straight over the river. 😊❤ "John Mc Baseball" would be very happy with the awesome baseball training facility.
I can't help but hear "Orchid Bagels" every time you say "Orchid Bay Eagles" and now I'm hungry! Great build as usual. Loved the memorial bench detail in particular!
After South London club Crystal Palace started calling themselves "The Eagles" then rivals Brighton started calling themselves "The Seagulls" and copying their chant to take the piss. Could have been a similar thing with the Orchid Bagels.
John McBaseball graduated from Orchid Bay and went on to play for the major leagues. He blew out his knee after 10 years and came back to his alma mater to teach and coach. He died at the ripe old age of 92 and helped to influence many generations.
VANILLA PLAYERS!! If you are making a port or some sort of industrial area, you can use the small rocks to create piles of materials. I also tend to use the abandoned car props to make junkyards. Putting an airport or ore industry fence around the outside can also help!! Great video and can’t wait to see where the series goes!
This series has me looking forward to Monday mornings :3 it's by far my favorite cities skylines series. The only thing I could think of at the end tho is the people living across the street from the field would all need blackout curtains with how bright it is otherwise they'd be blinded every night lol
Been following you since Palaven. I continue to be amazed and inspired by your ability to maintain the signature OE style while keeping your builds fresh and creative. Brilliant build, once again!
The Kitchen would tie into the real life “Hells Kitchen” in NYC. A place in Manhattan known for being a rough area and was a central point for the mafia/mob at its time
Imagine living in the buildings with train traffic roaring by on one side and absurdly bright floodlights from sports fields blinding you on the other. Gotta be some real strange people choosing to live there
Hey Egg, thanks for adding that memorial for my dad. He watched your channel a lot in his retirement and I know he'd really appreciate you commemorating him.
5:55 the memorial bench should be for “Home Run” Henry Bosher. Legend has it he once boshed a baseball so hard it left the stadium and hit a passing metro train on the nearby elevated track.
Him really cool episode as always. I think this build could use a park maintenance building at the back of the complex near the river, also maybe so dorms as a public hosting facility, maybe near the hotels ? Thank you for you work, have a great week
Once we start getting away from the city I think a vanilla military base build would be interesting. Between the launch stuff, airport dlc and creative use of other assets (worker barracks, etc.) I think it would be pretty cool!
Karen can talk to the manager later, I have no complaints 😊 Thoroughly enjoyed all the 'if it fits it sits' moments, so this ep was simply meant to be. Maybe the memorial bench is for a legendary player from the Ilos All Alien Team... 😁
Neat little build here Egg, and that nighttime view... Sensational 👌 "The Bakery" is a great nickname for the training ground, and maybe the greenspace where John McBaseball's bench is could be called "John C. McBaseball Memorial Grove", to be inclusive of the path and garden as well?
Have you ever been unable to get a tiny niggling detail out of your head, despite the build being perfect? Yeah, me too. It's the metro stop at the end of Brooklyn and Queens, and how it doesn't have a pedestrian path connecting it to the street behind, which would provide a path from those streets along the train line and connecting it to the raised pathway as well. Right now everyone has to go around the long way, from what I can see. It's stupid, stupid of me when so much is just juicy delicious perfect here. I dunno Egg, could you help me with this one? Love to you either way, you're absolutely brilliant and I love this series and I'm sad that I'm almost caught up now, the binges have been so good. I can't wait to see what's next!
I had a couple of complicated and busy weeks and I couldn't even find time to comment on the videos but have to say that the little time that I managed to get at the end of the day was well used watching Thessia's and Orchid Bay's videos. They helped a lot! I love the new additions to the downtown and the industrial area. I'm in complete love with Brooklyn and Queens additions, absolutely in love, indeed the game needed that. Keep up the good work my friend as you always do, and don't forget to take care of the train police 🚅🚅
how John Baseman? He was a top player for the Orchid Bagels and a kind man. He always loved working with kids, teaching them how play and seeing their spirits high. One day, John got sick, badly sick, the entire team fought their hardest for him, and although he was alive for 5 more months, he tragically passed on the night of the Bagels won the championship. Ever since, they made a memorial in honor their best baseball and sweetest guy, John Baseman (story time over!)
You really have honed your craft of bringing the campus buildings to life in the downtown settings. It just keeps getting better and better. Side note, Maybe Billy Bob Johnny Mc Baseball could rate a more distinctive tree. Don't get me wrong, the Silver Birch is a beautiful tree, but it's kind of a dime-a-dozen in the area. Then again, maybe he was just a plain bagel kind of player.
I am really loving the new buildings in the Africa in Miniature pack. The new High School was a much needed feature and the Saharan Research Institute is now easily my new favorite building in the pack (the Silver tower is up there too). They even added a new water tower! I hope you get to use those assets in one of your cities.
You could name the player memorial after a former Orchid Bay player called Michael Baker and that could give the training facility the name “the bakery” in his honour. This could also be where the team gets it’s name.
Since you had mentioned before that you wanted to put the cities airport on that offshore island, let me do some plane policing for just a sec, cause that's not a great place for an airport. The angle of it means that it would be impossible to take off or land towards the downtown, the skyline is just far too high. Only having one entrance and exit for an airport of a city this size simply wouldn't work. If you want that kinda offshore reclaimed land style airport, the orientation would need to shift about 90 degrees. When you look at the two airports in Osaka, Japan for example, they are almost perpendicular to the skyline. Tbh I'd prefer an airport further out, the island feels way too close to the downtown. It would add so much noise and pollution to the nice waterfront. Further down the coast there's a large flat area between two hill sides, that might work for a large international airport instead! I think you were dead on with the name idea, "Bagekery" as a nice nod to the team name there :D
I think adding the campus baseball park close by would add a little history to the area. The Orchid Bay Bagels original stadium before they got promoted into the National Bagel League. Please call it the Cinnamon Bowl Could be the U18/ baseball academy stadium
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG I have seen a couple other content creators look at a 3D layer of Google Maps and literally copy it but maybe you could find some parks and other small blocks and fit those into this city? idk! wherever you see inspiration - unless it's all just in your head lol
the only thing i feel is a bit of a miss is the lack of a high fence around the baseball fields to catch the balls. however, idk if there is a high fence in vanilla.
You should name it Sonny Bagel memorial park in regards to the player that passed away and parents worked for the bakery and ironically his last name was bagel 😅
The Jigglypuff bus line is called Bus Line 12. Could it be called the Jigglypuff Line? Also you could name the bus highway road the Wigglytuff Trail as that's the evolved version of Jigglypuff. Pokemon Lore in Orchard Bay 🙂
how do I fix Object reference not set to an instance of an object? I did a fresh reinstall of the game unsubscribed from every mod and only subscribed to the ones you have linked in the description, yet I'm still having this issue
I’ll never forget the night John McBaseball closed out his no hitter to win the world series for Orchid Bay. I cried. My father shed a single tear then told me to calm down. It was beautiful. Thank you for building him a memorial.
Lmao
The way that he pinch hit the bowlers googly with all the bases loaded in the final over was pure beauty.
Bob McBaseball ❤
Gosh I miss Pops so much. He never stopped talking about that game! What I wouldn't do to hear him tell that story just one more time 😢
@@JohnJuniorMcBaseball wow totally star struck to have JR in the comments! 🤩🤩🤩
Glad you felt the same way about the bridges going straight over the river. 😊❤
"John Mc Baseball" would be very happy with the awesome baseball training facility.
It was definitely a good one. Can't wait to see the view from Mad Mountain when the airport is finished.
Sidenote. I watch everything in 2x speed. It's always over to soon. 😢
What, camp OE's videos page? Me? Never!
Who would be that crazy? Me? Nahhhh :)

A football/soccer camp in the mountains could be amazing too
I wont forget the moment when John McBaseball pointed to center field, and hitting a home run right after. It was a legendary moment for sure

A groundskeeper building or two from the campus pack would have been great vibes at the training ground.
Short but simple build! So many "fits its sits" moments for ultimate satisfaction 😌
Been following you since Palaven. I continue to be amazed and inspired by your ability to maintain the signature OE style while keeping your builds fresh and creative. Brilliant build, once again!
LOVE that community baseball fields asset. looks awesome as the centerpiece of this lil campus area
I like the bakery as the name for the training ground
I feel as if the yoga garden would be cool on that bendy part of the quay...
Another great morning watch with my coffee! Thanks, Egg.
I think the Bakery is a great name, you could also name it something like The Kitchen to be more generic too.
The Kitchen would tie into the real life “Hells Kitchen” in NYC. A place in Manhattan known for being a rough area and was a central point for the mafia/mob at its time

I swear, this is the ONLY thing I like about Monday mornings. OE helps get my week going with fresh build guide videos ❤
I see OE video drop. I like and watch. I am a man of simple City pleasures after all.
Thanks for the support Bear!
Pretty clever idea to use the campus buildings to make a training complex. Nicely done.
Myb add like gym and sauna next to traning campus like a part of it so people can go do cardio for traning also or relax after the traning myb :)

I love this city. Its your best Vanilla City (Vanilla plus :D). Keep up the good work
Egg didn't have to go this hard with the soundtrack for this series.
But he did.
He did it for us.
#thankyouegg
As it's a school/baseball academy and to stick with the bagel theme, how about Raisin Bagels Park?
Once we start getting away from the city I think a vanilla military base build would be interesting. Between the launch stuff, airport dlc and creative use of other assets (worker barracks, etc.) I think it would be pretty cool!
This was the episode I really needed. Highway interchanges are the hardest for me. Got some good ideas. Thanks!!!!

If it fits it sits has become a mantra in my builds now.

Have a good week bud!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG thank you
Yes please! Been looking forward to this episode lol
That view right at the end with the cycle lane bridge is 😍
Great episode. I think the silver birch as the tree for the Johnny Baseball memorial bench is a bit scrawny. Maybe an oak would be more appropriate.
how John Baseman? He was a top player for the Orchid Bagels and a kind man. He always loved working with kids, teaching them how play and seeing their spirits high. Looks great. Only slight criticism is obscuring the curves of that lovely school with big trees. Maybe line of bushes instead?
I hope the brickland and quays residences facing the academy have special “window broken by baseball” insurance at the ready 😅
Short but effective episode. Something different (and great) again with creating a sports campus.
you should turn the memorial bench to look at the training grounds. And maybe a live oak or a bigger tree instead? to give it more importance
x :)
Love me some monday build guide

John/Bill/Bob McBaseball should probably have a live oak as his memorial tree, the birch doesn't stand out since there's so many of them.
Thanks Egg. Really enjoyed this. The city is looking so good - wish I could live there!
No, YOU enjoy the rest of YOUR day! A thank you so much for your efforts!!

The High School from the Africa in Miniature pack is actually the admin building of the University of Pretoria in South Africa

Great baseball campus build.
Bagelings... like younglings, only bagels :)
John Mcbaseball deserves an Oak Tree!

For the baseball training facility name: the Beggkery? The owner must be scotisch, than it all makes senes. I hope.
The high school is based on University of South Africa aka UNISA in Pretoria, the city of jacaranda trees, also South Africa's capital city
You should name the memorial area after the famous Orchid Bagels player Babe Gulls.
The Basey McBallface Training Field as a name for the area
RIP John McBaseball 😂
i wish this city had loads more high density housing
if it fits, it sits 🙂
The deceased baseball player must've been (Orchid) Bayb Roofline, Shirley? And Training Bay 🤷♂️
What about Bill McBaseball Bagel Base for the area? Base being a good nod to a main part of the game!
I think the campus should be named OrchidBay Bakery home of the bagles
You made my day my ps4 account has been suspended for 30 days on the 3rd of June I have to play on my sister's account
I do like the memorial or remembrance park for um whoever it was 😆
